Afterwards, Luis promptly sent the estimate document via text message and provided samples. Once we accepted and chose our roofing material, LCG started work when they said they would. Working to their estimate, LCG removed our old roof, replaced damaged plywood, and installed new roofing and skylights. They were careful and professional throughout. In particular, their clean-up each day was exceptional: it was by far the best of the 3 different roofing jobs I've been involved with in the past few years. Inspection reports and invoices were also conveniently sent by text. Luis kept us informed throughout via text and responded quickly to queries. There were no surprises in the final bill. I had numerous questions and all of my questions were answered to my satisfaction, and everything seemed very easy from the deposit to selecting a date. The workers arrived on time, and they were much quieter than I had expected. I wanted an old TV satellite removed from the side of the house, and they did not charge extra for that service. Before I contacted anyone to have my roof done, I needed to do some homework and got up there and…read moreassessed the condition of my roof. The shingles were 30 years old, worn out, and on top of one or more layers. The seals around the vents and flashing were cracked from age and weather. There were considerable wood damage from dry rot and termites. This was going to be a big expensive job. I had estimates from four roofers found on Yelp all bonded and licensed. I reviewed the estimates, their contracts, materials offered, wood replacement costs, response to contingencies, and answers to questions I had of the whole process. Steve and Nik of Accurate Roofing Solutions came up on top. Their wood replacement costs were from low to average compared to others. If the wood replacement cost was high, the roofing estimate would balloon quickly. What if it rains? Is there extra cost to tarp the roof during that time? There was no extra charge with Accurate. Other deciding factors in my selection of Accurate is that they were in the South Bay. They had their own construction team and don't use contract labor. They knew how this beach city permit and inspection system works and got me through it with no issues. My entire experience with Accurate Roofing Solutions has been very pleasant right from the very beginning when Steve sent his project manager, Nik to inspect my roof and provide me an estimate. After awarding the job to Accurate Roofing, Nik and I discussed what is needed to prepare the house before his team shows up. I had to provide access, overhanging tree branches removed, provide power, and cover furniture etc. with plastic sheeting or tarp to protect them from falling debris from an open ceiling which we had in the kitchen, dining room, and garage. The project took 4 days. On the first day, 3 layers of old roofing were removed and the damaged wood replaced. The second day, the city inspected and OK'd the roof structure. The third and fourth day they were installing the new plastic sheeting, GAF Timberline shingles, and new vents. The latter were painted to match the shingles. The job was complete and on the 5th day, the city inspector came by gave the final OK. I am happy with how the job turned out. Thanks Steve and Nik!

I bought my house in Sherman Oaks in 1997 and while I was out of town on work for a couple months…read moreshortly after moving in, El Nino hit. Fortunately, my garage (which was storing much of what I had that wasn't in the house) was the only thing that suffered damage, Unfortunately, most of my mementos were destroyed. I reroofed, and now almost 30 years later, with rumors are that El Nino is making a return visit, I thought (since we had suffered minor leaks during some of the recent rains) it was time to reroof, so I put Yelp to work to find me some people to interview. I picked five for the information I could glean, asking few questions, since I knew opening my mouth connected to a brain that knows little about roofing, would be a bad idea and also seeing if people were helpful with their explanations. Everyone (maybe except one) was personable enough for me to think I could work with them, but much of the information was kinda the same thing (although I noted some improvements in roofing since 97 that were useful to ask each about). The prices were more or less the same, and close enough that I knew I could find a point that would be roughly around the general price for them all, so it wasn't money. It was rapport and ultimately who gave me the greatest sense of trust. And. I learned, information that no one else told me. Roy, with Top Roofing was the ONLY one of the five that I saw who discussed the solar pool heating on my roof with me; each of the people I met with went on the roof. Not one other person mentioned it, and if you have solar panels on the roof - it's a consideration in doing the job. When I called the others who'd come to the house to say I'd made my choice and asked why I picked someone else I told them this - it was determinative that one person told me this was a job that needed to be done in addition to the roofing. He hooked me up with a solar heating company, he'd worked with before and I got on the phone with them and felt reasonably satisfied that between them and Roy it would get done on time, on budget. (It's not a small add-on to have them remove and reinstall the works, so if this affects you, be warned). Roy stayed in touch with me throughout - He came by and we spoke on phone daily. We had agreed that in the cost we he would completely replace and repaint a tongue-and-groove porch which was pretty rotted out) and aside from some permit forms I had to fill out, gave me a date of less than a week every date was kept. His crew was punctual, and so neat - the pool was covered, they cleaned up each of the five days they worked. Roy walked the yard with me before they started so I could make sure my gardener trimmed where he needed to, then walked it again, to tell me where we might need to keep trimming. He touched base with me every day, and when it was over gave me a video of the roof (both the main house and the garage were reroofed), and the porch which looked haggard now looks beautiful. I can't say enough about what a positive experience this was. And it looks really good. And since the last time I put on a roof, the tile now cools down the exterior which is good to have in an LA summer. The roof is up, the solar heating is back in operation. Let's go. A roof is an expensive proposition, and I think it's ok to know little if you hire someone you believe in (and, I'll admit, test out a little bit at the onset), who speaks to you in a way that is helpful and doesn't overwhelm you, but I think this was an incredibly positive experience in terms of labor, cleanliness, schedule and most importantly communication. Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. When one of the (many) things our home inspection revealed was that we were in dire need of a new roof, that sealed the deal. And since we like to support local businesses whenever we can, after a little research we landed on BYLTup. Honestly, we can't say enough good things about the whole BYLTup team, or about Dominik in particular. I'm not even sure where to start. For one thing, from start to finish we had to communicate long distance by Zoom, FaceTime, and text because we hadn't moved yet. Nonetheless, we had absolutely no qualms about our project being in good hands because having met Dominik first on Zoom and then IRL when we were out there for a couple of weeks, we knew we could trust him 100%. I mean, the guy knows his stuff, is clearly all about the details, and he's one of those people you sort of feel like you've known forever after just a few minutes. Seriously. He couldn't be more personable or considerate. Just good people. But about our project: It was no small task. Our house is a 1912 Craftsman that--believe it or not--still had the original roof, with various layers that had been added piecemeal over the years as needed. We got a beautiful new roof and a fully permitted 11.51 Kw solar system that'll generate 14,780kWh in year one, all within about 2 weeks once construction started, and the team was so clean you'd never even know they were there. Actually, I take that back: one day when there was considerable dust, soot and debris --which, unfortunately landed in out neighbor's yard after they'd just washed their windows and their car, Dominik went over personally to apologize and offered to take care of any necessary re-cleaning. He totally smoothed out the understandably ruffled feathers. And when our project was done, our place was totally clean. This is my second review and a follow up of Gary and his team and their work. It's been 3 years…read moresince he replaced the roofs of two different houses my family owns. They are both mid century with flat roofs which notoriously leak. Over the years they have been patched and fixed making it even more challenging to replace. However, after yet another a week of VERY heavy rain and wind here in LA there was not one leak in either house! Not one! These guys are the real deal, honest, fair priced and excellent work. He books out fast so schedule with him soon if you want work done. Thanks again Gary and team for keeping us dry and safe! PS the reviews about not getting calls returned, NEVER had a problem getting a hold of Gary or his wife. They are a small business and I found them to be very professional in that department as well.
