Great service! I had a Woman crash into me in a parking lot and rendered my car un-drivable. My insurance provided this company to tow my Camaro to the collision center and it was such an easy, stress free service. The driver, who's name completely escapes my brain, arrived well within the estimated time, was friendly, knowledgeable (he pointed out the issue almost immediately) and efficient. Don't go by any positive review they have. I had a flat tyre on my tesla 5 days back and it didn't reach tesla service center as Tesla sent central towing. Service center folks were confused where tyre is so i had to call the guy who came to change tyre and then central towing and they told me its in their fremont location Its been a week and they didn't even notify tesla and neither did they drop the tyre. Waited the time frame the insurance gave me called them because it passed the time frame they disclosed that they only have one driver and he was currently busy with another call. Then get a call back from insurance saying they raised the price from 60 dollars to 140 for a two mile radius tow . I would not recommend so unprofessional. read more

Dad almost died in a car accident. Central towing picked up his truck. A few hours later and about 3 hours of central towing holding his truck (yes 3 hours) while he fought for his life in the hospital, and central towing decided we owed $670. Brendon, who was working January 25th 2018, Decided to threaten our family. He said that he wouldn't even talk to us unless we gave him $100 upfront. He wouldn't tell us the total price or if our truck was even there. Brendon of central towing called this a "gate fee". I guess Brendon of central towing didn't realize that my brother is a retired police officer and that he saw the sign behind him stated "Livermore gate fee: $65". They also charged for two entire days of storage even after the car was there for 3 hours. $670 for basically central towing decided to charge a disabled senior citizen who was fighting for his life in the hospital. $670 for basically 3 hours of storage. $670 to basically pick up a car and tow it a few miles. I was highly disappointed with the services, attitude and lack of courtesy of this towing company. I crashed my truck and they were called to the scene to tow it away. All was going fine until a couple of weeks later after I received some pictures of my truck during the crash, in the process of lifting onto the truck and afterwards. These pictures very clearly depicted that the towing company DAMAGING the undercarriage of my truck much more than it was! As they moved it, they wheels were turned all t he way to the side causing substantial frame damage to my vehicle. I showed these to them and the manager (after 5 days of me calling them with no returned calls) said that they "did what they had to do". They probably caused at least another $3,000 worth of damage to my truck just because the man who was lifting did not care at all. He basically just dragged it and ruined the wheels/frame. In addition, there was a huge dent in the back where the truck did not hit anything previous to them handling it. After much complaining and attempting to speak with the manager they brushed me off, and stated that it was not their fault. I will NEVER use this company ever again! read more

This is literally the worst, most unprofessional, non-communicative, poorly trained customer service experience I have ever received in my life!!! If I could give this business less than a 1 star rating, I most certainly would! My car broke down on a busy freeway during rush hour traffic, so I contacted my auto insurance's roadside assistance, who informed me that Central Towing would tow my car and gave me an ETA of a 3 hour wait. So I had a nearby relative pick me up in the meantime and take me to a parking lot just off the next freeway exit to wait in a safer location, which I informed the dispatcher. The driver called me A WHOLE HOUR earlier than the expected time to inform that he was already at the car waiting for me (no courtesy call to let me know he would arrive earlier than expected), at which time I let him know I was on my way back to meet him at the car. It took me almost 25 minutes to get back to the car in rush hour traffic, and when I arrived the tow truck was nowhere in sight. I called my roadside assistance company, who researched the issue and informed me that Central Towing had cancelled my towing service... WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION. The tow driver hadn't even called me back to let me know "I'll have to leave if you're not here in X amount of minutes". Zero communication. My insurance company apologized to me and let me know they had put in a complaint to Central Towing, acknowledged that this was completely unacceptable service, and would help me find another tow company asap. I called Central Towing and spoke to their extremely rude and dismissive "dispatcher", Lewis, to see if there was anything they could do to get my car off the road and to the repair shop, as previously confirmed. He was very unhelpful, rude, dismissive, condescending, and refused to offer up anything other than a dry, monotone "oh well, you weren't there so he left. Nothing I can do". Seriously?!?!?! How incredibly crappy and lacking in empathy for someone stranded on a busy freeway because YOUR DRIVER failed to communicate in a timely manner!! I asked to speak to the manager and got the run around. I will certainly be following up to report this issue with their corporate headquarters, the Better Business Bureau and any other related business association and media outlet possible. This experience was completely unacceptable, frustrating, and hurtful... I unnecessarily spent hours on a dangerous, busy freeway, which could have easily been avoided through timely, proactive communication and a sense of common decency. I am totally disgusted and I expect to see some accountability from this company. If I can possibly give this review a "0" star, I would gladly do so. Alas, Yelp wants to give at least one star to companies ranking way, way, way below subpar in customer service. I have towing service with Farmers and unfortunately had to call in for service today for my brother (my brother is also one of the policy holders, thus qualify to have his car towed). He was stuck on the San Mateo bridge and called me to request for a tow truck via Farmers, since his phone was dying. I immediately called for service and was assured that roadside assistance should arrive within 45-60 minutes. After a couple of minutes of placing the service call, I received a call from a lady (if she qualifies to even be called a "lady") from Central Towing asking for specific directions (she sounded like she was on drugs!). She mumbled and blurred through a couple of sentences and let me know that CalTrans required authorization for towing trucks to be on the bridge, which she assured me that she had obtained the requisite authorization. An hour and some minutes later, I received a call from my brother (he used a CalTrans employee's phone to place the call) telling me that the tow truck had yet to arrive. It's been more than an hour - an hour! - of my brother being stuck out there in the cold. I then called Farmers to figure out the whole mess and the Farmers representative transferred me to a "Kris/Chris" of Central Towing, who....drum rolls...is the epitomy of an obnoxious, rude, vulgar, and extremely ignorant person I've ever come across. He refused to go onto the bridge without authorization, which I assured that someone from that selfsame company, the dratted Central Towing, called and already received authorization from CalTrans. I even gave him the number to CalTrans, which he threw back in my face citing that it was not his responsibility to call anybody and that CalTrans had to call him, as if his worthless self is worth something. By the way, this guy was on duty on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at around 10'ish PM -- just in case the name that he supplied was completely bogus. I've never been treated so badly before and I haven't been this pissed off in a long, long time. Please, for those needing towing services/roadside assistance, for your sanity's sake, stay away from this company, especially if Central Towing keeps employing pests like Kris/Chris there. I was just coming back from Fry's in Fremont going North on 880. Traffic was flowing @ 70-75 in the left 2 lanes and everyone seemed happy with that. I'm in the #2 lane, second from left, and see a care coming up going at least 85-90 in the carpool lane. When it gets closer I can see that it's a commercial vehicle because of the lights on top of the cab. As it pulls up next to me I see that it says Central Towing on the door. I'm thinking "great, there must be an accident up ahead or something". About 2-3 car lengths ahead of me and in the Tow Trucks lane, #1 lane, is an older Mercedes going @ 75. The Central Tow Truck gets about 6 feet off the Mercedes back bumper and is trying to push him to speed up or move over. The Mercedes doesn't move because there are cars in my lane next to him and he can't speed up because of cars ahead of him. Then the Tow Truck gets even closer to @ 2-3 feet off the Mercedes bumper and stays there for @ 30 seconds. This idiot should have his license taken away. I mean, why is someone do something so friggin stupid with the name of his company plastered on his truck? Maybe it's because Central Towing doesn't care if their driver's do this sort of crap. If anyone from Central Towing even cares to know about this, your driver was going North on 880 and passed 92 at 9:28 pm on 7/31/08. read more

In the last two months, both of my cars died due to battery issues in my home garage (my luck). Called central towing and they showed up within 30 minutes (as promised over the phone). On both occasions, a different towing guy came to our home on a huge truck. Very professional and semi-nice to talk to. Knew everything about a BMW 525i and Nissal Altima. On their own, pushed my car out of the garage and on to the street and pulled them on the truck. The whole process took like 10 to 15 mins max. Drove my cars to the auto shop. I followed them. Alex is an EXCELLENT operator! Our boat trailer had a wheel bearing go bad yesterday. He was meticulously careful in monitoring the trailer as it was being pulled onto the flatbed tow truck - watching the small swivel wheel on the trailer's jack, the wide double axle wheels at the back of the trailer, and the boat's outboard motor skag while it dipped low as the trailer's nose tilted up onto the flatbed. He was just as careful as the trailer was being unloaded. Watching him work was like observing an artist - precise, professional, intentional, anticipating problems and solving them before they happened. I am really happy with their service. My car was not starting up and I called to schedule towing service. The person on the phone was courteous and helpful. ETA for arrival was 60 minutes but towing truck driver was at my doorsteps in less than 40 minutes. He also tried to see why my car was not starting. Somehow he managed to start my car. When I asked for how much I should pay, he said nothing since they did not tow my car. I was pleasantly surprised by driver's professional attitude. If I have to tow my car in future I will definitely go for Central Towing again. read more

Going to a tow yard isn't something one would have to do for any pleasant reason, and in this situation it was no different. It was to retrieve some belongings after a bad car accident. So coming up to the scene was already difficult and heart breaking. Then to have to gather our emotions and deal with the business at hand. Angela was right there with holding our hands, taking care of every detail with compassion, heart and care. Jim was right there with her helping in any way we needed and even helped retrieve some of the items from the wreckage. After being run off the road and down an enbankment into a drainage ditch full of water at 3:00 a.m. by a sleeping/drunk driver, Joe from Central Towing came out to take care of my call. I had no idea how they were going to get my truck out, but they sent me home and told me they would take care of it. It took two trucks, but they were careful to go the extra mile to not flip it, knowing I had a number of valuable possessions inside. This company came really quick when we had an accident on the 580 on thanksgiving day, the tow driver (his name is Joe) was very helpful. He dropped us off to our hotel after the accident, then dropped off our poor truck at the yard, and dropped my husband back to our hotel. He gave this extra service with a smile. We came back to the yard the next morning to collect some of our stuff that we forgot and its all there and even gave us a bag to put everything in. read more

Our motorhome got rear-ended by someone who went out of control passing cars on the right emergency lane. Our RV went off the road and was totalled. The guys from Central Towing were great. They were helpful and professional at the scene. Office manager, Joe, was especially helpful the next day. On top of helping me with taking things out of my RV, he gave me sound advice and offered to stay even after they close to get all of what I wanted. I had a great experience with Central Towing one night about a year ago. It was 2 am and I was driving a loaded 3/4 ton pickup truck when the transmission went out. The first three towing companies refused the tow over the phone, the fourth company sent out a truck, only to have the driver decide he didn't want the tow, saying my truck was too heavy. At least that driver had the decency to recommend Central Towing as he drove away at 3 am. Less than a half hour after I phoned Central, a cheerful and skilled driver appeared with a large flatbed wrecker and in no time he was dropping me off in front of my home. And how much was the charge? The minimum - $55. I was in bed, asleep by 4 am. I'll always use Central from now on. read more

My rating for this company is 0. My car got towed and held for 30 days. It was my fault. But regardless every time I got in contact with this office the dispatch or receptionist were so rude. Since I didn't have the money to get my car out. I asked them if they could auction my car so that I didn't have to pay all the storage parking that they charge. They have no patience in explaining anything. I already lost my car can they at least give me some information. Not even any mail from them telling me when it was going to be auctioned or anything. They treated my disrespectfully and were SMOKING on the job while they talked to my family. I got my car tow by central towing on a Sunday from 880 south the when i called them they tell me that the fees are 270 for the tow and 65 to open the gate, after she tells me that the car has a flat tire and that i cant change it my self because of insurance liability and i cant drive my car out the tow yard for the same reason, now the say that they can change the tire for a small fee of 100 dollars which is insane then im speaking to the dispatcher of central towing and the i have a Latin guy talking to me in Spanish and translating to the dispatcher wich was unnecessary because i do speak English anyway they are not in the business of towing but in the business robing people at the end their costumer service is a joke!!!!!!! read more

i had a flat tire, so our insurance company sent central towing to change my tire. all went well till he started to put back on the tire and broke the lug. he then called somebody in office. don't know what was said then he told me to take my car to some auto place and buy the lug and they will replace it. all this at my expense. i called my insurance company and was told that central towing has to pay for everything and they will call me in couple of hours. 3 days later i received a very rude call from some guy and he absolutely refused to pay for anything. i was told that my car was old and its wear and tear. they haven' t paid for anything till now. this kind of service is pitiful. even the insurance companies should not contract them for jobs.
