I called the first place and their voicemail picked up, so I called this place and asked if they had what I needed (specified by model/serial number of my vacuum). Answer: Yes, they had it in stock, gave me the part number, and the price would be $150 (and change) after taxes. I drove up and as I was parking, it occurred to me that I'd been to a vacuum store in the same block years ago, but on the other side of the street, and I remembered the badness described in my original review on here. So I go in the store and ask "Did you used to be across the street?" Answer: Yes. OK, well, it's been a bunch of years, maybe it's new ownership, or maybe their behaviour that day long ago was an anomaly; let's see how things go this time. They go get the part (confirmed same part number they cited over the phone), and ring it up: over $180. I say, "Oh! What happened to $150 you quoted me on the phone an hour ago?" Guy goes, "I'll fix the price" and goes typing on his keyboard, then comes back with "So that's $168 after tax". I did not have time, patience, or willingness to get in an argument. I probably should have just said "Thanks, never mind" and walked out (I probably should have been more patient with that first listing where I got routed to voicemail), but I did need the part, and I was there, so I just figured "whatever" and paid it and got the errand done. Not worth fighting crosstown traffic to get to the other place for $18. Come on. Quote the real price over the phone, don't play these bait-and-switch games. One-star review still stands, 10 years later.

As it happens, Mark was able to make the repair quickly and for the least amount of cost. I could not have anticipated a better experience and I'm very grateful that there remains real professionalism in the world today. It's hard to find. All other repair services at least will give you service fee towards the parts and labour, this company will not. DO NOT RECOMMEND. EDIT: To insert the plastic button to the control panel will cost you the following if you decide to go ahead with the services. Save yourself $$$$ and do it yourself or call someone more reasonable. Dvir came out quickly and diagnosed the problem. He was able to clean out a clogged drain very efficiently. On top of that I mentioned that my top rack was acting up/ not sliding out all the way. He was there was a broken bracket and ordered the part for me. So two problems solved for a very reasonable service fee. I will definitely be calling AM PM again for any appliance problems. He was very courteous and knowledgeable with reasonable fees.

On Dec 31, 2025, I paid $126 for a diagnostic visit for my dryer. The technician performed only a brief inspection and concluded the issue was likely a thermal fuse without fully accessing or testing the heating coil. The next day, I received a repair quote of $641.81, which was in addition to the $126 diagnostic fee already paid (I did NOT proceed with or pay the $641.81). I later hired an independent technician who properly diagnosed the problem as a burned-out heating coil, which Electrafix had not tested. After I provided photo evidence and repair documentation, Electrafix acknowledged the misdiagnosis and agreed the $126 should be refunded. However, they refused to process the refund unless I signed a broad release waiving all current and future claims and agreeing not to post reviews. I declined, as this condition is unrelated to the refund. In addition, my dryer's front panel was found damaged and not properly seated after their visit. Electrafix denied responsibility. Based on my experience, I strongly do not recommend this company if you want to avoid wasting your time and money. I want to respond to the owner's comment and clarify the facts for anyone reading this: Your technician refused to reinstall the dryer's front panel properly. After I asked him to do so, I immediately noticed it could not be reinstalled correctly. When the independent technician later opened the panel, the damage was already visible. The independent technician repaired the dryer from the top, without moving the machine, and there was no need for two technicians. After your technician's misdiagnosis, your company provided me a quote of $126 + $642.81 based on that misdiagnosis. Following that quote, I cannot imagine what could have happened -- you would have charged even more for such a small repair, not to mention the time lost. I believe the $126 diagnostic fee should be refunded unconditionally. Your claim that the damage originated "from the inside" or from independent work is incorrect and unsupported, as the damage was present immediately after your technician's service. Disputing responsibility for damage under your care raises serious concerns about business practices. Customers deserve transparency, accountability, and fair resolution.

After a quick assessment of the problem, he obtained the necessary parts and completed the swap out of both elements in a short afternoon. He quoted us a reasonable and affordable price for everything and we are very pleased with the results. The oven is back up and working properly. Everything was done efficiently and professionally. Being less than a block from a direct competitor (Aerus), how does this place stack up? Good: Pricing is generally more competitive, though this place does use cheaper-looking parts. Quality seems okay though. Bad: Place is WAY more cluttered - it feels like you're in some hoarder's basement. Parts selection (based on my 1-time experience) is more limited, and wait times for ordering parts is longer. As you can see, the place has its ups and down. Choose between time and money.
