If there were an option to give zero stars, I would choose it. I had a disappointing experience with Electrafix Appliance Repair. On Dec 31, 2025, I paid $126 for a diagnostic visit for my dryer. The technician performed only a brief inspection and concluded the issue was likely a thermal fuse without fully accessing or testing the heating coil. The next day, I received a repair quote of $641.81, which was in addition to the $126 diagnostic fee already paid (I did NOT proceed with or pay the $641.81). I later hired an independent technician who properly diagnosed the problem as a burned-out heating coil, which Electrafix had not tested. After I provided photo evidence and repair documentation, Electrafix acknowledged the misdiagnosis and agreed the $126 should be refunded. However, they refused to process the refund unless I signed a broad release waiving all current and future claims and agreeing not to post reviews. I declined, as this condition is unrelated to the refund. In addition, my dryer's front panel was found damaged and not properly seated after their visit. Electrafix denied responsibility. Based on my experience, I strongly do not recommend this company if you want to avoid wasting your time and money. I want to respond to the owner's comment and clarify the facts for anyone reading this: Your technician refused to reinstall the dryer's front panel properly. After I asked him to do so, I immediately noticed it could not be reinstalled correctly. When the independent technician later opened the panel, the damage was already visible. The independent technician repaired the dryer from the top, without moving the machine, and there was no need for two technicians. After your technician's misdiagnosis, your company provided me a quote of $126 + $642.81 based on that misdiagnosis. Following that quote, I cannot imagine what could have happened -- you would have charged even more for such a small repair, not to mention the time lost. I believe the $126 diagnostic fee should be refunded unconditionally. Your claim that the damage originated "from the inside" or from independent work is incorrect and unsupported, as the damage was present immediately after your technician's service. Disputing responsibility for damage under your care raises serious concerns about business practices. Customers deserve transparency, accountability, and fair resolution. read more

Our dishwasher leaked all over the floor. I turned off the machine and spent an hour scooping out the water so the technicians could check it out. We needed help. This company offered to fix the problem and to apply $100 of their fee to the cost of the repair if any. It turned out that after a couple of minutes they determined (as we thought) that it was the pump and we should "forget repairing this old machine". In the meantime the machine filled up with water and I was looking at a mess on the floor. They didn't offer to disconnect it and remove it and just left us with a $126 bill. Update July 8, 2025: They came back with a part half the price installed it. We paid an extra $161.24. The fridge is still not working. I contacted the manager Lucy and she hung up on me. The outcome was the fan was broken and not able to circulate the cold air to the top of the refrigerator and so we paid just under $300 for the service fee and he said if the fan still doesn't work after his work done that day to call him back and he can come by with the part and then I would only be charged for the part and not the labour because I already paid for the labor. I asked how much the part would be and he said about $100. It was a cheap part to replace. The following day the fridge was still not working. I called them back. They sent me an estimate of the fan and it was $297 for the part itself not the Labour I refused to pay $300 for a part that cost $30 as we researched the cost of the part itself. I've been fighting with them on trying to get the fridge repaired for them to come back and they are ignoring my calls and requests not adjusting the price; ignore, ignore, ignore.... read more

Eran did a great job diagnosing the problem, thoroughly cleaning the filters, explaining the process and the reason the refrigerator was freezing the contents. I felt like I had a new refrigerator for the minor cost of the repair call when he was finished. It is always a pleasure to work with Electrafix. My past experience with help has been really good but this one left a sour taste in my mouth. When our washer started making weird noise while spinning, I found a 5-star service provider on Yelp - Electra Fix. Not only did Electra not fix our washer properly, but they left our washer such that when we used it the next time, smoke was coming out of it! Just home from vacation and went to wash clothes this morning and the washing machine would not start . Called Electra Fix at 10,30 and the technician named GUY arrived at 11.30 and problem was found and repaired by noon Guy the service tech was professional , polite and had to do some serious heavy moving to get the stacked washer / dryer combo out of a very compact space . Had a refrigerator break on Thursday. They can't get me an appointment until Saturday. I understand but emphasize that time is of the essence. They call Saturday morning telling me that they'll be late. I say it's okay, stuff happens. The technician shows up, charges us for a service call ($100) and a new part ($255), which he quickly installed. At that point, the compressor still wouldn't turn on. Service tech determined it was another part and that he would have to come back... ON WEDNESDAY. We unplugged the fridge until he got back. When he finally made it back, the part he'd installed had burned out. The tech had failed to diagnose the original issue of an apparent power short. Now, these thieves are refusing to refund the total amount for the part that they mistakenly installed, making up new charges as an excuse to keep our money. These guys are nothing but bandits. Go somewhere else where they actually know how to fix appliances and don't blindside you with surprise charges. UPDATE: I received an email from T. at ElectraFix (included here as an attachment), ordering me to take this review down: Threatening that if I don't take my review down and refuse to cease sharing my experience, they won't give me my money back. There's a word for that T-dog: BLACKMAIL. You owe me $256 for parts that I never used. Keep your insultingly low amount, you obviously need it more than me. My integrity means more. This is the way ElectraFix treats their customers! Avoid these guys unless you want to be stolen from and blackmailed to keeping quiet! SECOND UPDATE: Received a call from the owner "M". Said he would give us all the money back if we took all these reviews down. Told him that I would be more than happy to do so once he gave us the money back, but NOT before as they have already shown themselves to be untrustworthy and guilty of questionable business practices. He then resorted to threatening me with legal action. (Last I checked, speaking the truth on Yelp isn't libelous... However, blackmail *is* illegal ... I'm willing to let a judge decide.) Very poor service, they robbed us. The company came and "fixed" our stove and dishwasher for $700 only to have the issues continue. They replaced parts that weren't broken and the issues were not fixed. They have strung us along for 5 months and have yet to issue us a refund. We have had to buy a brand new stove. I, personally, would not recommend this company. They want to give us a $250 refund ... that is not a solution. We paid for a service that they didn't deliver. They have also deleted my comments and reviews on Facebook, indicates a very honest, upfront company. Update: they are now offering a 50% refund if we sign a contract agreeing to remove all of our reviews and not post them again. don't use these guys - I paid $120 for a call out only for the guy to tell me I had to defrost my fridge and then it could work if not he would have to get me a part - cost for him to defrost was $300 - he said he would be done in an hour - I said so you are charging me 300 /hr to use a heater to defrost my fridge - I told him no - so I paid $120 and no diagnosis. he then sent me a bogus quote for $770 for a Thermastor and a main control board - again labour was $300. I got my tools and took off the panel to defrost my fridge - I saw that the defrost heater had burnt. It would have been pretty easy for him to diagnose the problem if he actually did something. The part was 81.17 US - its being sent to my house - I should be able to install it. these guys are scammers - once you start the call out they have you - they would have just kept adding parts until it was fixed but in the mean time you would be paying a lot of money. The part arrived about three weeks later. Amir then returned to install the part, which involved disassembling the freezer drawer. He quickly installed the new ice maker and reassembled the freezer drawer. The surprise was that our final invoice was less that the original estimate. Very responsive. We had a minor electrical issue with our fridge, called Electrafix, got a prompt callback and were offered an immediate service call, and on a long weekend. The service call was the normal $100, and the tech discovered that the power plug was bent and that seems to have solved the problem without having to go further, although we'll continue to monitor the situation. I had a bad experience with this company. I was initially told it would be $265 to fix my dishwasher, which I paid, but the technician didn't actually fix the problem.
