The store is also wonderfully stocked and maintained. I recently decided to try to attract some hummingbirds into my yard and figured a nice hanging plant should do the trick. With my limited knowledge of such things, I immediately asked for some assistance and recommendations. I was referred to Ava, who was just an absolute delight. She was genuinely excited about my pursuit and immediately gave me many options. With her help, I was able to choose a beautiful calibrachoa. She was nice enough to trim it up a bit for me, while also offering recommendations on care and watering. I tend to like to highlight when I receive service that I believe goes above and beyond my normal expectations. This was one of those occasions. Ava is knowledgeable and just has a radiant personality. A true asset to the staff at Ace.

Today I went to the Dixon store for two small hardware items. I spent considerable time in front of rows of small drawers, as did another customer, searching for one of my items. I think the other customer finally became frustrated and left the store after pacing back and forth looking for something for many minutes. We caught glimpses of store employees at the end of the aisle, but they never seemed to notice us . . . or care that we might need help. I finally found one of my items without help, but I had not seen the other one (Pop Rivets) during my time there . . . so I tracked down an employee and asked. The employee apparently hadn't heard of a pop rivet, so he called to learn where they were. When we finally arrived there, the selection was very sparse with only aluminum pop rivets available in any quantity less than 100. I resigned myself to traveling west on I-80 to the next Ace store where, no surprise, they had a better selection of pop rivets. If it weren't for the extra distance, I would always opt for "half the store with twice the stuff". Most days parking is a real problem at the Vacaville store . . . for good reason.

Now they are throughout the store instead of in end caps. Service varies - mostly good experiences but you do get the occasional person who doesn't know much about the products they carry. Much is sold at a good value, and can easily be compared by a quick online search. I go to Home Depot for lumber, plumbing, tools, pool chemicals and garden supplies. Also purchased a washer and dryer, stove, and microwave last Black Friday and had a great experience. I'm sure you already know about Home Depot - this is a good store in a decent area.

The girl came then, looking pretty irritated and answered my BF questions curtly and left to back to stocking the back or whatever she had said. We HAD to get something, so we picked through whatever we could find, paid big $$$ for these work clothes, and left. I thought this would be such a cool store- I wanted to see the baby chickens, and browse the shelves, and get some gear but it wasn't a good experience here.
