After the contract was signed, the owner of Vostok, Alex, arrived with the demolition crew. The crew was very careful to cover the adjacent bedroom furniture and flooring. Sergeii and his team of professionals did an excellent job of making the process as painless as possible. We started in November and had a completed backyard cottage by mid spring. The team were very particular with the finer details of the house, including lots of insulation and placement of windows to maximize natural light. Sergeii and his construction team worked very hard on the project and left the property in great shape. We had a couple of minor change orders throughout the construction of the project, but this was expected with a fully custom project of this nature. The final product turned out to be even better than the drawings. My mom absolutely loves her finished ADU of 600 sf and it is extremely comfortable. We interviewed a few construction companies and felt that A+ Construction PRO was the best choice for us. The project itself was a detached 1-bedroom ADU in our back yard. The process was so much easier than I expected. Rod presented the development process and details in a very realistic manner. He didn't make any false promises or try to sell us on lots of unnecessary upgrades. The design phase of the ADU took a little time to come to completion because my mom continued to modify the floor plan and the finish out of the kitchen as we moved through the design phase. The team was very patient with my mom and helped us to come up with a design that best served her needs of her space. I like that they paid close attention to the practicalities of the bathroom and the storage in the unit. I think designer Irene did a great job in this area. The crew was very professional. The site was always cleaned up after each workday. Communication with the office was good throughout most of the construction process. One minor thing that impacted the project was the typical delays that there are with inspections. But this was not a problem for us as we were always made aware of when each inspection was scheduled and any resulting delays. My mom loves it and ADU honestly turned out better than I could have imagined.

John kept things well organized, communicated very well, and apart from a few minor odds and ends, finished the job on time, as promised. The job was also done within budget (no surprises thankfully!). John's crew were always polite and respectful. It's not fun at all to live through a remodel, especially when you lose your bedroom and bathroom and are sleeping in a guest room or living in a short term rental. But they did a great job accommodating us and respecting our family and our space. The quality of the workmanship was very good as well. I have done a lot of work over the years and am happy to say that if you live in this area, he is your guy. He was fair and honest from the get go. The price he gives you is the price you will pay. I never received any surprise "change orders". As contractors go, Omar was VERY open and communicative. No problems ever getting him or his crew on the phone. He had great suggestions on all things we discussed. Always seemed to know a lot about his work and various things people like. The project was a big one, and I am super happy with how fast it went. He even got started for us over Thanksgiving and Xmas, and his crew would show up on Saturday or Sunday sometimes to keep on working (which was fine with us!). There were no subcontractors involved... everything was through Noor Construction. If we had any minor issues that needed correcting, Omar would come and look at it and tell his crew what to do. We really appreciate the details, crown molding and trim was superbly done, and the tile was just amazing, we are very impressed with his team. I mean seriously anyone who has attempted to do crown molding in the past knows what I am talking about. For details if you've made it this far, our story: Where shall I start. I suppose we start with the idea: build a bedroom in the second floor space of our "great room" which has really tall ceilings... like 30 feet plus. So basically add a bedroom in the second story "empty space" above the first floor. Easy right? Well, after getting ghosted by several contractors, I finally called Omar. He informed he thought we were probably getting ghosted because the architect had told him that footings were needed to support this new bedroom which would be sort of like an island in the middle of the house. We live on a hill, so these support columns would have to go through the first floor, basement, and then under the house. This added to the cost, but we really wanted a bedroom in that space. Omar gave me a price. I told him no thanks, my wife and I thought well maybe we changed our mind as the cost came in higher with the footing work. After a few weeks, we talked it over, changed our minds. We really needed the bedroom. I called him, thinking "gosh he probably won't want our work". Omar came back, no change in price, same deal as before, he didn't even bat an eye, he was ready to go, and this was like 4 weeks later after I told him no. So yea, it was project that I was told was too much for people, everyone didn't want to go get permits or deal with the footings... Omar told us what to expect and stuck to the plan. He dealt with the County and the inspector always came and said even himself "these guys know what they are doing". We passed all inspections. Omar even was super flexible about adding things to the project as we went along, as you know I get ideas about what I might want, we added some carpeting and shelving, and additional tile work that he added at no additional cost to him. He really just knows what he is doing and is super on top of things. So go with Noor Construction if you have the chance, you won't regret it!

In addition, I'm told who will be coming to work on the projects so that I know who to expect. I want to talk about how much I love my new bookshelves. We approached River City Carpentry about a…read morelarge project, at least for us. Carlos came to our house, on a holiday no less, and talked about what we wanted to do and provided a quote later. He was thorough, providing suggestions about how to approach a problem: framing out our decidedly builder-grade windows to tie in with the board-and-batten we wanted. And then there was the huge, floor-to-ceiling built-in-bookshelves project we wanted him to tackle with stain-grade wood. Through the whole process, from concept to completion, Carlos checked with us about what we wanted. He made changes when needed and was respectful about our wishes. Everything he did mattered to him. All his choices were thoughtful: with materials, trimming out the board and batten and windows and building the bookshelves. With the cabinet bottoms for four of the bookcases, he chose something with a nice wood grain and matched the doors up. It looks so good and now we need to respect the wood with a stain that will allow the beauty to come through. The result is something out of my dreams. Solid, classy bookshelves with some cabinets and even a couple cabinets with plexiglass doors. As Carlos said, we could drive a truck on these bookshelves now. No disrespect to the IKEA hackers, but I wanted something solid that would last a lifetime, out of real wood. Carlos custom-made the bookshelves -- no prefab cabinets. He was great with communication, both in person and by text when he was on his way for the day. He was always on time or even early. He has a great sense of humor and found us funny too, which is nice to have when you have someone working in your house for a while. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. River City Carpentry provided good quality service and a great value. Now I'm looking forward to the next step of getting our shelves stained and our board and batten and the rest of the room painted.

Aside, the scheduled door installation date was for November 24, 2023, i.e., on time as scheduled--of course and indeed confirmed days prior. During the door installation installing two doors, I was enthralled with Carlos adjusting the "X & Y axis" for bedroom door~LOL . . . Which Carlos called, ". . . plumbed." Regardless, Carlos is an expert, indeed! I plan hiring Carlos when I receive my EDC building permit for converting a Tuff Shed into an ADU.

Our floor was torn up in a hallway/master bath & master bedroom due to a flood. We were looking for someone to pull up floor from the spare bedroom and use the pieces to patch the remaining parts that were damaged due to a flood. He arrived and talked through our options with us and got back to us in a reasonable time to schedule & get to work. We had a quote from another floor guy but we really liked Josh & his quote was great so we were in. The work itself took about a day a half and the patchwork was seamless. He was able to reuse many of the floor pieces to fix the main areas and we are now off to get the remaining bedroom carpeted. We woulda went with him for this as well but that was outside of his scope. Nevertheless the job was done below budget and quickly might I add. He also fixed a linen cabinet that had been removed due to the water damage. He was meticulous and thorough in cutting and replacing the baseboards as well. We cannot recommend him highly enough. They provided our personal information to the installer we found. The Floor Store salesman is either petty or is ignorant of law.
