I see suboptimal reviews of CW on this site, which amazes me as I found them awesome. VERY long story short--bought ancient house a yr+ ago and original backdoor was deteriorating and hanging from a hinge. Initially went the Habitat/Preservation Station route to find vintage replacement. Those are terrific places--I love them! But no doors that fit were available. Started calling carpenters, numerous handymen, and wood-workers. Only half called back and when they came out, seemed interested but then I never heard from them again. A year (and cold winter!) went by with "hole-y" door so unstable it dragged on floor. Recently, after an East Nash neighbor was delivered a CW door, I called Paul at CW, visited their office on Melrose, and Paul spent ample time discussing options. Left with an estimate and names of a few installers CW recommends. Today--a year after this miserable search began, but only a few weeks after finding CW, my new door (plus transom) was installed. Wood, minimalist (like I wanted), and functional. I wish I had gone to CW a year ago. Note: you don't have to use installers CW recommends--I chose to as I was in a hurry and they (The Door Guys) promptly answered phone calls, which is a rarity right now. So here is new door--not yet painted (will do that myself), and window shade came from old door. But a very very welcomed sight. I cannot recommend CW enough. read more

I give them two stars only because the Masonite double door I bought from them was slightly out of the 1 year warranty period. The latching door warped like a banana and so that we have it taped up through the winter awaiting installation of another door from a new manufacture. The factory rep. (Joey) told me the door was installed improperly causing the warp and that the gap at the top of the door (allowing wind and rain through) was within tolerances. Also pointed out that the top of the door hadn't been painted. So basically, it too bad, so sad for me. I won't be buying from them again. read more

Jaime and Brandowere super communicative and did great work on a very complicated front door frame in our 1950s ranch. Couldn't recommend them more!! read more

I needed to replace 1 side of a center-hinge door patio door set. The goal was to replace one door that had glass all the way to the bottom with a door where I could put a dog door in the bottom. The initial phone consult went great, they were very helpful and recommended their subcontractor, we'll call him Mr. X, to come out and take measurements and make a recommendation on which door to replace. I scheduled an appt with Mr. X who failed to show up during a 3hr window. I rescheduled and Mr. X showed up that time. I did not feel totally comfortable around Mr. X but he took the measurements, recommended replacing the stationary/non-swing door, and said he'd email CW and copy me on the email. I never saw the original emails from Mr X but CW emailed me letting me know they couldn't get an exact window pane match and we found an alternate solution and got the door ordered. Since I wasn't comfortable with Mr X, I decided to go with a different contractor to install the door. When he measured the new door, we discovered the door wasn't the correct size. I emailed CW and let them know what happened - maybe the wrong door was ordered or maybe the wrong measurements were supplied but I never received the measurements to know what they were supposed to be. Initially they denied that Mr X had provided them measurements but when I informed them that somehow a door was ordered and *I* didn't supply the measurements they agreed it was Mr X and they'd get a new door ordered. I asked if there was another contractor they worked with that could finish the install instead since I was stood up on my first appt and they completely defended Mr X and let me know that I was lucky that anyone would even show up. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ANSWER. So I went with my own contractor to take new measurements and get the 2nd door ordered. He wasn't sure why Mr X would recommend the non-swing door as the replacement because it would be significantly more work to install it. I emailed the new measurements to CW and asked them to deliver it this time since I had to get a friends vehicle to get the door the first time. They could also pickup the 1st door that didn't fit as well. Well, I didn't receive any notice of when the door was going to be delivered and they showed up at my house while I was out walking my dog at 7am. I was not happy with the surprise delivery especially since they were doing a pickup at the same time. When the door was coming off the truck I immediately realized the door specs had been changed and there was now a panel added to the bottom of the door which would interfere with where the dog door would go. I had to refuse the door delivery of the 2nd door but they went ahead and picked up the first door. I emailed CW again and let them know the 2nd door wouldn't work. They said they'd make it right. They did order me a 3rd door, but again failed to tell me when it would be delivered and showed up unexpected again. Ultimately I got the 3rd and final door but they did not supply the door plugs that cover the screws around the window pane. I had to make another trip to their store despite asking if these could be mailed or ordered. They never once apologized for any mixups, errors, Mr X, or delivery notice failures. I would not recommend them. read more

We bought a $3500 wood sliding glass door and transom from Central Woodwork. The lock mechanism broke during the 2020 tornado. Since then we have been trying to get a replacement from this company. They have been horrible. They won't return calls. They say they will get back to us and do not. We have contacted three representatives in the company and a manager. ALL assured us that they would "look into" the situation. The door was under warranty. I'm sure it is not now. This is the worst customer service ever. We will never purchase doors or windows for our homes from this company again. read more

Fellow contractors this is for you. Central woodwork does not want your business!! It's a waste of time trying to contact them. There are way better options in Nashville. Best thing to do is not shop with them. If your asked to leave a message with a salesperson just hang up because they are not going to call back. The quality of their products suck but not as bad as their customer service. There was a time when they were great, that time is over. Spend money elsewhere.. you've been warned. When things slow down as they do they'll be the first to go under and Nashville will be better off! read more

We recently bought windows for 3, 2,200 s.f. rental houses from Central Woodwork. The windows have an issue where they close at the bottom but don't meet at the top and so they don't lock properly. I called Central to get some advice about fixing this problem which I think is a quite simple fix with a casement adjustment wrench. I asked the salesman if he thought doing these adjustments would be an option. He was the nastiest, most unhelpful person I've ever talked to!!! He said, "I DON'T KNOW", like I was some idiot. By the way, one of our window locks broke off one of the windows and we ordered a replacement 2 1/2 months ago only to find out that it came in and they lost it. Good going guys!!! read more

This company installed windows in our home during new construction. The windows are warped, fogged and several are inoperable. We have contacted them routinely over the last 8 months trying to resolve. They are avoiding phone calls and emails. We have contacted them over 20 times, including over ten attempts to reach their General Manager, Andrea Waller and the owner of Cenwood, who we believe is Peter Humphrey of North Atlantic Corp. it is truly the most unbelievably disrespectful treatment we have ever received. We would highly recommend against purchasing Neverrot windows from this company and more importantly not doing business with them as they are unresponsive and dismissive. It starts at the top. Zero service. Zero stars. We are pursing complaints with the consumer affairs division of the attorney general and seeking legal counsel. When I replaced my windows and my front door in my house a couple of years ago, I shopped all over town, looking not only for good prices, but windows that would fit the character of my house. I wanted to go for a vintage look, with the two vertical bars on the top panel of the window, instead of the regular paned windows I had before (even though they were original to the house). I also wanted a door to match, in all glass, because my living room was very dark. I shopped at Home Depot, Lowes, and several other window and door merchants in town. I found prices that were sometimes (especially in the case of the door) three times as much as Central Woodwork charged. The wait times to special order were also ranging from four to eight weeks. Christie, the very helpful salesperson at Central, helped me through the whole process and ordered everything for me and found me the best deal in town. Everything went very smoothly and I would highly recommend them for any window or door needs. read more

This was the last straw, I went in to pick up my door that was ready 3 days prior. When I got there the attendant said there were no hinges on it and if I wait 10 minutes my frame and the door will be completed. So I waited, and waited, and waited 55 minutes later I talk to the man again and he said it's still not completed yet. To think I took off work today to go pick up the door because me and my wife have 3 children, last time she was there the same thing happened and she had to wait 35 minutes with an 8, 5 and 3 year old in the warehouse. I will never ever buy anything from this company and I strongly suggest you don't either. Unless you are a builder purchasing 75 doors you are dirt to them! Even if they were to offer me a free door I would burn it before I ever let anything from that company go into my house. read more

Horrible customer service! You can never get a hold of anyone at this place. The receptionist is unhelpful, all she can do is send you to a voicemail of someone. She cannot answer any questions or check your order status. I had to leave messages just to place an order (you'd think someone would be helpful when they are getting money from you). Finally once I got my order placed (after 2 days of waiting for a call) I was never called when my door was in. I had to call and talk to voicemail boxes again and wait for someone to finally call me back. I highly recommend going elsewhere. I am a rehabber in Memphis and have used Central Woodwork on multiple projects. The first few went fine, but then my sales rep left and referred me to a new rep named Levi. I placed an order for all new custom windows in a house 5 months ago. I paid $4000 up front and I was told the full order would be fulfilled within 3 weeks. It took over 2 months for the windows to come in and 2 were missing, 2 were the wrong size, and customization that was on the order was missing from a handful of them. Levi blamed this on the manufacturers and told me he was ordering the replacements from a new company and that I could expect those within 3 weeks. 2 and a half months later I have received no windows and had no communication from Levi. I have called and texted Levi every other day for weeks. I have also contacted the office and spoken to two different sales reps about the situation who said they would take it to a manager and never heard back. I've also left voicemails for managers and emailed the office and not heard back. They are sitting on $4,000 of mine and I have no idea when I will get my windows. I can't list the house until I get these windows and they don't seem to have any concern with taking care of their customer. read more
