For one New Yorker trio combo, you get a sandwich, drink, and a side of your choice (fries, poutine, or onion rings). You can't really go wrong with onion rings; just as such, since the fries were disappointingly soggy and the poutine was really just fries slathered with gravy. My husband and I had dinner here recently. Centrale Bergham is a chain from Montreal and this Bank Street location is their first outside of Montreal. We've walked by their downtown Montreal location (on Ste. Catherine West) several times and wanted to try it out but never got the chance, so we were happy to see that one opened up here in Ottawa. We were not disappointed. They serve sandwiches, wraps and burgers with an international twist. They have 14 different sauces that each pay tribute to a different country. We sampled the Algerian (slightly spicy and creamy), the Tunisian (very spicy) and the Chili Thai (sweet and spicy). When my husband asked about the American, the staff member said "nah, you don't want that, it's meant for kids it's just ketchup mixed with mayonnaise." I thought that was funny. I got the Shish wrap combo ($9.99). I got salad instead of fries, and a fountain drink. I chose the Algerian sauce. My husband got the Gyro sandwich combo ($9.99) with fries and a fountain drink. He chose the Chili Thai sauce. I loved my wrap. It was filled with lots of chicken and also lettuce and tomatoes. The chicken was tender and juicy and tasted so good with the creamy and spicy Algerian sauce. The salad was fresh and crisp. It had lettuce, cucumbers, sweet peppers and black olives. The dressing was sweet and tangy. They put too much dressing on it for my liking though, so I will ask for it on the side next time. I had a bite of my husband's Gyro and it was great. Really flavourful and also lots of meat. His fries were also great. Thin and crispy. It's fast food, so no servers. The staff though are very nice. They let you sample the sauces and answer all your questions. I also noted that staff with beards wear beard nets and all staff wear hats to cover their hair. I approve of cleanliness and staff not getting hair in my food. The food here is Halal. The restaurant is next to a Tim Horton's and there's a small parking lot in front with free parking. Thought this place was A-OK. Good sized sandwiches are filling. A choice of sauces lets you customize your taste experience. The onion rings were great - very crispy. Décor is black and orange, but a year in, the location needs a good deep cleaning. (The wall is filthy as are the table bases. The restaurant though is clean where it counts.) We went as a group as we had heard good things about this place. I feel like I have to write this review because the other reviews here are not in depth enough. My husband ordered the Bergham, and I had the crispy chicken burger. Others had the Mexican, another cripsy chicken with poutine and a kids meal. Let's start off with the Mexican which is anything but. it has tandoori flavoured chicken. I think maybe the mountain of jalapenos, green peppers and onions is what makes it "Mexican". It came in a wrap, the ingredients are spicyand it was piping hot. This woud normally be appreciated but it was really hard to eat and enjoy. It did taste good and was filling though. The crispy chicken surprisingly came with a processed chicken patty. I expected a breaded and fried breast like any other place I have ordered a similar item. It was not good, just passable. We got the algerian dip with the chicken burger and it was just plain not good. Skip this one and try something else on the menu. The Bergham was a cornucopia of stuff, the presentation wasn't great (see pic). The sandwhich itself is a 6/10. The store is clean and spacious, and it's located in a little strip mall beside a tim Hortons so parking is limited. It's a chain from Montreal and this location is the first outside of the city. They all came with fries and a small drink. The kids meal comes with a juice box, kinder egg, fries and small burger. A great sandwich place if you want to try something new. My personal favorite is the Bergham which is a sandwich with egg, hamburger, bacon, onions and sauce. Everything here is halal, so no pork products are used. If you get a combo you get fries with some of their specialty sauces. The Algerian is by far my favorite sauce as it has a nice spice to it. The only downside is that this place is a little on the pricey side, but overall it isn't a half bad place. read more

I've been impressed with my last few visits. The first time, I had the Philly Cheese Steak. The meat was very flavorful and there was a lot of it! The bun could have been better, but overall it was a very good sandwich. The fries were nice and crispy. The best part about the fries was eating them with the delicious Algerian sauce. I sampled all of the sauces, and the Algerian was by far my favorite. Sweet, tangy, slightly spicy, and oniony. Good stuff. The second time, I told myself I wanted the best of both world. I got a poutine topped with the Philly Cheese Steak and some Algerian sauce on the side. We have a winner! I'll be back to indulge in this guilty pleasure once more! The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Last but not least, the service has been incredibly friendly both times. My go-to order at Centrale Bergham is The Doner sandwich. I love how they season their dark chicken meat and load it into their soft baguette. Sooooo good and satisfying. Their fries are also pretty good - kind of reminds me McDonald's fries! The only complaint I have would be the fact that their signature garlic sauce is now gone(?) and has been replaced with an inferior onion sauce. I LIVED FOR THAT GARLIC SAUCE. If only they could bring it back to life, then I would definitely pay more visits. read more

Not bad. Clean, friendly staff, decent food but could use more personal options on the sandwiches. Let me tell you what I want on it.

Food was ok! Service crappy they have no menu for you to look at at the table. Ordered a salad waited almost 45 minutes and no one else in line. You can hear kitchen staff talking amongst each other. Will I return nope can't afford to wait almost 1 hour for food. read more

I ordered the "mexican" wrap. It was nasty, soggy and served with a lebanese garlic sauce. Not everything in a pita is lebanese guys. I had ordered the sandwich but the server obviously wasn't paying attention and i got the full meal. And the parking is horrendous with all the kids talking out their car windows like it's a wal mart parking lot. Horrid Horrid Horrid. Save your money and go to the Timmies drive through. read more

Inconsistent! When it's good it's amazing but sometimes the meat quality isn't great. Recommended either the tandoori or the chicka. The Algerian sauce is very good on sandwiches or with fries. Don't waste your time with the burgers, burnt, dry. McDonald's serves better. read more

Amazing and unique fast food, open super late. This may just turn into my go to place for fast food. Tried the Bergham sandwich and it blew me away, as did the fries. Going to have to try out some more once I get the chance. read more
