We called Vicki and said we would like a showing (it happened to be vacant), she came to the property within 45 minutes to show. We made a full price offer that day. Goes above and beyond. Even after the deal was closed, 5 days later, the water heater stopped working, we called Vicki and she didn't hesitate to call one of her folks to contact us. Two days later, the water heater was fixed. She went out of her way for us even after the sale. A true pleasure to work with and without a doubt, Vicki is our real estate agent for life. This is the worst property management company you can find! I've been a customer of theirs since 2014, I'm not sure what happened but this years turn around has been catastrophic! - they did not realize the tenants were moving out - scheduled walk through 2 weeks late - can't piece together two maintenance quotes for a month and half - after two weeks of finally starting the work on it, they told me twice that the list was complete, not so! -as a result, my property has been sitting there for 9 weeks now! This whole time, they were blaming the market and the contractors for being extremely busy During my search for a new management Company, i was asked several times if I called before, because they've all been receiving calls from mc21 customers. We were going to sign a lease with an agent from this office but after reviewing it, she had personally put in items like the tenant had to pay for repairs, pay a $50 trip fee, there was no inspection that the tenant was allowed to do and other things like that. First we were told we could make changes to the lease and then when we asked questions she responded, "the lease is air tight and this isn't going to work." How unprofessional! If you choose to go with a property from them, I would highly recommend asking for a standard TAA lease or reviewing the one they send. read more

Had one of the worst rental experiences while working with Tiffany at Century 21. We reached out about a house for rent and the entire time they were dragging their feet about everything. I was trying to move in asap (which they knew) and they would not send over the leasing documents. They kept telling us they were trying to contact the neighbors about the fence being fixed, then it was that they needed documentation of my dog prior to the lease being sent over, then it was that they were going to have to delay the rugs getting cleaned. Right before Thanksgiving (a few days prior to the desired move in date) they informed us that they were going to be selling the house so we could no longer rent it. We worked with them for 2 weeks to try and get the lease sent over with no word about a possibility of them even considering selling the house. My realtor and I contacted them almost everyday for an update. I was a Leasing Manager for a property management company, I know what it's like on the backed and I understand things can get tricky and things come up. The fact that they waited til the last minute to inform us that the house was being sold (right before the holidays so it was hard to talk to other companies to rent their house) and they knew how short our time frame was was so disrespectful and such bad business. read more

We lived in our rental home for 3.5 years. Every single experience I had with the property management company was poor. Never a sense of urgency or responsibility. At the beginning of our lease - the very first day, I stopped by the house to make sure the water and electricity had been turned on as scheduled. when I got to the house, all the exterior doors were open. Not just unlocked, but actually wide open. The air conditioning did not work (June. in Texas.). The floor was filthy. The fan in the master did not work. But to top it all off, there was crap in our toilet. actual crap. - and had clearly been there for weeks. Clearly no one from the property management company had been by the home to make sure it was in order for new tenants. Multiple issues and no shows and overall very poor performance from the maintenance company they contracted with. While the management itself left LOTS to be desired, my family had decided logistically, it made the most sense to extend our lease for an additional year. 3 days before the lease was scheduled to go to month to month, were we given a notice of an extension and 10% rent increase (going against what is stated in the lease will be at least a 30 day notification.) Tenants weren't notified when the leasing coordinator/point of contact changed. We had an emergency after a storm and again, zero sense of urgency or responsibility on the part of Century 21. The next door neighbor was able to contact the landlord directly. I will say once we were able to deal directly with the landlord himself, everything was fabulous, for the remaining few months of our lease. I wish him absolutely nothing but the best. And truly hope he is able to manage the property himself, or find another, more capable management company. Century 21 is about as absent a management company as there is. I can not recommend enough that you stay far away. Tenant beware (especially for turds left in toilets.) read more

Whether buying or selling a home, we've had our fair share of Realtors. Very few have been a fit. Let me tell you, Tim Goldsberry is the best of the best. When relocation presented itself, we chose and trusted Tim to help us through the journey ahead. Tim talked us through timing, pricing, and helped coach us through the last minute projects to prioritize before listing our home, ensuring we got the best value out of each item. From square one, we had our own personal advocate on our side. Our relocation arrived just before Thanksgiving, meaning we were about to leave our home in the heart of Fall, and as Winter approached. Prime time to avoid leaving your Texas home unattended. This was the big reason we knew Tim was the right choice for us. We were to leave our most beloved possession in his hands, to care for and maintain. When storms arrived, Tim was there in the early morning hours to check on our home, and administer anything it needed. You name it, it happened, from the fence blowing down, to the brand new heater not starting. Tim made it look effortless (although I know it wasn't) and made it painless on us from afar. I didn't know what we were in for, but boy am I thankful we picked Tim for our seller's agent. He was prompt, kind, understanding, easy going, trustworthy, to name a few. From square one, Tim went the extra mile for us. He held open houses, advertised and marketed our home like crazy. Knowing our timeline needed to be expedited (we needed to sell before we bought a new home), he worked with his management team to ensure they were providing the best service to us as possible, re-evaluating pricing, and every single detail. Once under contract, we experienced our fair share of hiccups. Once Tim knew how my husband and I felt about the deal, he worked to mirror our feelings through his dealings with the buyer's agent. He was a great negotiator in our favor, and easy going when he could be. It's tough to find an honest, ethical, buyers or sellers agent. He was tough when he needed to be. Kind when it mattered. Tim is everything I could have hoped for in a Realtor, and everything I needed while many states away. My recommendation of Tim is one I'd give my family and closest friends. Be careful with this rental company. They do NOT mediate for rental security deposits- do not expect them to help with this in any way. The realtor (SUZIE HAYNES) gave false hopes about terminating lease early with the promise that if the home rented by another tenant by the first of the month we wouldn't be responsible for the last months rent HOWEVER waited two weeks after our move out to post the property for lease so this wasn't possible! They had us hand over the keys and denied us access to a propery that we were paying for -including utilities! read more

My roommate, boyfriend and I tried to visit a location available for rent from Century 21 Mike Bowman. The listing agents name Helena B. When we first called, Helena refused to show us the property. She actually told us it would be a waste of her time to show us the property because it was over thirty days before we would be able to move in. We waited and called to see the location when we were within the thirty day window before moving in, she still tried to pull the "I cant guarantee it will still be available." I had to demand she show me the property. Getting past the extremely rude realtor, to which we credited to the unit still being available, we visited the unit and loved it. We decided to apply, costing us each $50. Not a fortune, but when it comes time to move expenses add up quickly. We were denied, but not due to our credit, our renting history, not even a pet issue. We were denied because there were three of us, wanting to rent a three bedroom and they only allow two cars per rental townhome. Not only do we only have two cars, which means they assumed a third car would be parked there, this was a rule of the complex, which was never once explained to us. Helena knew there were three of us and no where on the listing did it state a two car minimum. I truly believe, as this is a standard for this complex, that it was completely poor business practice to even let us apply. After seeing that there were three of us applying, it was unnecessary to run hard credit checks, knowing they would never approve us. Century 21 just wanted our money. Century 21 wasted our time. After complaining they did refund our application fee. read more

There was no pomp and circumstance- only mature, experienced professionalism at its best. She was present and available from day 1, and never farmed us out to associates or "assistants", rather maintained 100% availability at all times. Chris isn't afraid to say when a home you're considering is a poor quality build or is in an area which would be difficult for resale- a quality we greatly admired in today's market. Century 21 represented the prospective buyers for my house. I was told that the buyers had gotten approved for the loan to purchase the house. They had not. Thinking everything thing was in order, I made arrangements to move, contacted movers, started packing, arranged to hold a garage sale Then I was told that the buyers had to find another loan source and they needed to change the date to the same date the movers would be here. Later, they needed to change it again to three days after the movers had left and I would have moved out of state. I made arrangements for a friend to have temporary power of attorney to sign in my stead. On the Friday before The Labor Day weekend I received a text from my realtor saying the sale has been terminated. Then Saturday morning I get a text saying the sale was back on. Of course, I had cancelled the movers and it being a holiday weekend nothing can be settled until Tuesday. I requested an extension on the time I could stay in my home due to movers. They refused, I tried for two other dates and was refused. The final straw was when I was told that the closing would be on September 11th and I agreed. Then I was in formed that the closing would be sometime between the 6 and the 11th and I would have to be out of the house quickly, preferably the next day after closing. I would have nowhere to go and no place to put my belongings since the earliest I could get the movers was the 13th. I found out that I could terminate the contract legally and did so. I signed away the earnest in good faith thinking that closing would be on the 11th and not before that. If you think this post is long, you should have lived it. I did contact the company and while they were polite and apologized over the phone, I never got anything in writing and feel that they were too busy covering for their agent who really messed up and messed me around, costing me money that I did not have. I don't appreciate the attempt to sell my home as a training session for their agent. read more

Had this company take over as my leasing company for the house I was renting. When we moved out things the old company said we wouldn't be responsible for we got charged for out of our deposit. Not only that our initial deposit was never accurate with the new company. Also the company who was set to do the repairs/cleanup charged us for items that were clearly there. Like a missing fireplace key that was sitting on the edge of the fireplace so it wouldn't get knocked out and lost. $50 trip charge plus the price of the key. I also could not get anyone to return my call after I received the itemized statement and their pathetic refund check. Don't lease with them if you can help it!! read more

According to a different agent Wayne spent several of the following hours reading TREC code because he was worried he had violated code by giving out my number. Mike B reports that my contact info was on the lease. It was not. My address was listed, but my cell phone number was not. As far as using my own repairman, the repairman I was using was Century 21's "go to" guy. For as long as I'd been under my agreements they had used this guy. I had gotten to know him, I trusted him, and my tenants knew and trusted him. About a month before the fence issue I needed a dishwasher replaced and I was told that this repairman no longer worked for Century 21. When I asked Wayne why he became very rude and defensive saying that he would not tell me why. After asking around I found out that Wayne had gotten into a personal argument with this repairman and fired him. As you've probably read by now, Wayne seems to have issues with pretty much everyone. Tenants, property owners, current and past agents, repairmen. I did not want to stop using a good repairman that I and my tenants trusted and liked just because Wayne suddenly disliked him. I simply requested that the same repairmen that had been handling my properties from the beginning to handle the repair and specifically asked that the tenant send Century 21 the photos so that I could forward them to their old repairman since Century 21 now refused to contact the old repairman on my behalf. The only thing I can think of is that Wayne was upset I wanted to continue using his new enemy to repair my houses and giving out my number to the tenant for me to deal with it was retaliation. As far as the missing $300, whenever money was taken out of the reserve fund for a repair it was immediately replaced when the next rent check came in from a tenant. I was given several papers showing where money went out and went back in, but I was never given anything showing where that money should've been taken out and not replaced. The money was indeed missing and I've since spoken to an agent who previously worked for Century 21-Mike Bowman and they said their accounting is so off that I was not the first person to have an issue with missing money. Mike B's response never acknowledges Wayne, but I guess when you have multiple people publicly making the same claims it would be hard to defend, so he chose to try and defend other things and claims my review was false, when in fact it is not. Mike B brags and says he manages over 260 properties. Who knows if that's the truth, but I can say that after conversations with other agents, I know that I am not the first property owner they have lost due to Wayne and their poor business practices. At the end of the day, I was paying Century 21-Mike Bowman hundreds of dollars each month to be the middle man between myself and the tenants so that I would not have to deal with any of it. Yet time and time again Century 21-Mike Bowman failed to uphold their end of the agreement, forcing me to be so far involved that I was not only still managing my own properties, but they were such an incompetent middle man that it made things even harder. Mike B's response is full of lies and attempts to twist the truth and make me look like a liar. Just remember, I was in a rock solid contract with this company where they were making a lot of money off of me each month. They would have never simply let me out of that contract unless they knew they had violated it. I'm sure they were only hoping that by letting me go that I would go away quietly. read more

I have had several positive experiences in the past with this office, both residential and commercial but this was a nightmare! BEWARE - get the agent to send you the offers/counters by email so you can see what they say for yourself. Mine told me the offer had been flat rejected and that was totally false. This was just one of many "mistakes" she made like not letting me see the property when I asked to inspect it (ie. view it) before making a final commitment, not sending me things in a timely manner, etc. Whats worse is after I fired them Bowman wants to kill the deal rather than let a new agent fix it (and get paid for it). read more

Everyone I've interacted with here has been unbelievably rude and unprofessional, including the manager! I literally dread every time I have to call them. The other review about them and code requirements is absolutely true, too. Plus, when you request for basic things to be repaired, that are required by law, they act as if you're demanding that they renevate the entire home. Then, when they don't fix things that you've requested numerous times, and it causes other issues, they tell you it's your fault. Absolutely horrible company. How they have any business and how their employees get away with treating customers the way that they do, managers and supervisors included, is beyond baffling to me. read more

Kerry Zamora was the first realtor we hired when we moved to DFW two years ago. Initially, she wowed us with great organizational skills and beautifully bound color packets of the houses we were going to view. She quickly encouraged us to jump at one of the first houses we viewed, telling us it was a fabulous deal. We did not make an offer, after looking at the comps she gave us, the house should have been about $40k lower. She insisted we would never buy a house below asking price in the hot market conditions, and told us we would likely pay out of pocket above appraisal to get a house. Weeks later, this house dropped in price $20k and again, she insisted we make an offer. Again, we refused, since it was still overpriced. We continued to look at other homes and soon, the nicely bound color packets became black and white papers stapled together or emailed to us. She bragged to us about how she prides herself on buying/selling the highest price listing and pushing prices upward. After the house we were interested in sat another month on the market (in a booming sellers market), we finally made the original offer we intended to make. Unfortunately, that same day, another offer came in. We looked up the sale price--$36k off the original price, only $4k more than we said it was worth and she refused to entertain. Moving forward, she became upset with us, continually balking when we asked her to write offers on homes for less than list price. At one point, she told us we were embarrassing her amongst her fellow realtors. The final straw was when we found another house we loved, which had been on the hot market for 3+ months with no offers, and we decided to make an offer lower than asking price, in line with neighborhood comps. She refused to answer our calls or emails, thus refusing to present an offer to the other party, which is highly unethical. At this point, we sent her a text telling her she was fired and she replied back that she was relieved. Long story short, we hired another realtor and were under contract, for $30k less than asking. She may be a great sellers realtor, but I'd go elsewhere if you're looking to buy. She was not trying to get us the best deal, only was looking to take orders and collect her commission. Be wary of her 5 star rating on their business page. They only allow some customers, who have completed transactions, to review. read more

The realtor is no longer with the company so hopefully karma came back to bite her. Based upon their actions alone, I would recommend this realtor. We rented a home with them for 3 years. Everything was fine and dandy at first until their new property manager took over (about a year into us being tenants). We experienced nothing but rude customer service, unanswered phone calls and emails, and 5 minute full inspections of the property with no documentation of the inspection (these occurred for yearly lease renewals & final inspection at the end of the lease). Our final inspection lasted approximately 10 minutes and took place a month before we even moved out. We had boxes everywhere, the property manager's child was there running thru the household, and there was no paper documentation or checklist. We are currently emailing the homeowner 60 days after we left the property trying to receive our security deposit back. He has sent invoices for items that should have not been our responsibility as a tenant. We spent the 60 days after we left the property calling both Century 21 and the property manager and emailing her as well.... just trying to figure out if we were going to receive a deposit or if there was anything we needed to do. Finally got a response (6 weeks after we left) that we needed to contact the homeowner. Why would this be? There was nothing in the lease about contacting him... and all our rent (and deposit) checks were issued to Century 21. We spent over 10 hours cleaning and doing the yard on our last day at the property. Scrubbed doors, baseboards, walls, bathrooms, floors, carpets, etc. and I have pictures to prove how clean we left that property. They are charging us (out of our deposit payment) $500 for yard work, $130 for a light cleaning (after the painting crew and yard crew were there doing their work), and charges for exterior power washing and interior painting (they documented on the invoice that there were dirt and stains throughout the house on walls, doors, trims, etc). Also, said they had to caulk crevices and cracks inside and outside the home and they replaced blinds at our expense.... how is this ok? We are currently showing pictures of how we left the house to the homeowner and if needed, we will be filing a complaint with the state or going to small claims court. Bottom line: If you rent a property from them, don't bother keeping up with the yard or the house... you won't be seeing your deposit back regardless. read more
