Waste of time, disappointing. Took car in for AC repair Friday morning. Was told it would probably be an easy fix and they would call later in the day with update. I tell him 'that's great, I have a job in Wimberly this weekend'. No call all day. I call them five minutes to close. Travis says not fixed, will call back with estimate. No call. And at no point was I told they would be closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Lost out on one job, had to take $60 Uber to another job. read more

First I tried calling another repair shop where the person who answered didn't have a clue what I was talking about, and proposed to send a mechanic to "diagnose" for 120 bucks when I already knew what the problem was! In short, these guys are down to earth and will give it to you straight. I've gone to these guys with small issues and major repairs. They never try to upsell you or overcharge you. Travis is a great guy to work with and will even take a few minutes to talk the potential issue with you over the phone before you go in so you have a better idea of what to expect. I was urged by a long time client to call Century Automotive after receiving an absurd quote on replacing my power steering pump and leaking hose from Firestone for $758. My Hyundai is 10+ years old, has some body damage and quite a few miles- that is a big repair in my opinion! I had a brief panic attack then decided I needed a second opinion. Travis kept me on the phone the entire time he looked up the parts and gave me a rough estimate for the same repairs for $300 less than Firestone. I was already relieved. After taking my car in to Century, I was told my power steering system needed fluid but the pump was not a candidate for replacement. They fixed the return hose only and saved me an INSANE amount of money. My car is finally running normally again! In my experience, Travis is accommodating, communicative and honest. Century Automotive doesn't suggest unneeded repairs. They don't up charge the shit out of you. I will continue to give them my business in the future. You should too! ;) read more

Joe and Travis are truly two of the best human beings I have ever met. They have taking care of my 2003 Toyota Highlander for years and have kept me safe for 200,000 plus miles. They have saved me thousands of dollars. You can trust them to always tell the truth. When I was sold a second Highlander by the highly unethical Covert Ford dealership on 183, they spent HOURS locating an electrical problem that shut off the brake light system, putting my life at great risk. I am taking the same vehicle in to them this week to go over it bumper to bumper before I drive it on my usual 6,000 mile trip to the mountains. The only draw back is they are so good that they are very popular. It's like Austin was in the days when only good people lived here. I started going here when a performance driver friend of mine brought his cars here. He says "If I trust them with a car that goes 140 mph on the track, you can trust them too." I brought my car in to have an oil gasket replaced, and I brought my mother's van in for routine maintenance. Joe and Travis do good work on cars, and are very reasonable with estimates. They won't try to sell you something you don't need, something you don't want, and they know what they're doing. We've all gone places where they've put batteries in backwards, forget to refill the coolant, or failed to put lug nuts back on the wheels. Century Motorcars is not that place. They are very careful and let you watch as they work on your car. It is located on a small street between an upholstery place and vehicle inspection place. Take your car here for repairs! Everyone talks about finding an honest mechanic. Problem is, most "mechanics" in shops now don't fix things, they just replace the entire system. Let me explain. Let's say the compressor clutch on your pickup truck goes out, leaving you without AC. Nobody wants to roll around Austin with no air, so you go to get it fixed. Now, you know that it is the compressor clutch that needs fixin. Not the compressor, just the clutch. But, every shop you call says that you can't just get the clutch, you have to replace the entire compressor, and that is gonna run you over $800 bucks. Because you have to get the "kit". It's a load of crap. It's becuase repair shops are marking up prices on parts to make even more money off of you. Not at Century. The shop is owned and run buy Joe and his son Travis. It is in an out of the way location on a dead end street, but if you need work, you MUST go here. They will take the time to find the only the part that you need, not just some overpriced "kit" that you don't . They will do the work well, and are not only honest about what needs done, but charge less in labor costs than any other shop I have been to. So instead of blowing $800 on a compressor you don't need, and getting hit with outrageous labor costs, they can find you the compressor clutch for under $150, and save you some serious cabbage, so you can go visit your favorite dive bar with your honey. read more

Century Automotive is a great local business. I've had various and sundry car repairs done there over the years, and each time they've completed the work promptly and I've had no follow-up problems. They clearly itemize their invoices to show parts and labor, and i've always found their charges to be reasonable. In one particular case, we had a dealer give us a quote for over $1K for a repair, so we took it to Century, which quoted $700. Guess who got the business. When you call, the phone is answered promptly. They give you an honest answer when you ask if they have capacity to fix your car the next day. You can drop your car off in the evenings and leave a key with a note, and they'll take a look in the morning. They call promptly to let you know when the work is done. Love Century Automotive. If you live in the Allandale/Rosedale area, you really shouldn't take your car anywhere else. Outside that area, it still may be worth the trip. read more

I absolutely recommend Century Automotive! I am a fairly automotively proficient guy however there are just some things that you cannot do without hooking it up to the computer. Each time I have taken my car to Century they have diagnosed the problem and given me a very fair and affordable solution. The father-son duo at Century treat every customer with respect, if the lifts are full or they are too spread for time, they will politely tell you they cannot get to you instead of just letting your car sit around not being worked on for days. Travis and his Father run an excellent Auto-Repair business. I had them go thru my 2006 Honda Accord Suspension replacing Struts (Koni Struts), Install Lowering Springs (Tien), Replace all 6 of the Motor Mounts and Transmission Mounts (these mounts were in such bad condition that literally the only thing holding the Engine and Transmission in the car was gravity) , upper and Lower Front Control Arms, Upper L & R rear adjustable control arms. Front and Rear Alignment, Turn Front Break Rotors and new front Break Pads, Flushed out all the old Break Fluid, Changed out the Engine Coolant, Oil change and filters on the Engine and Transmission (there is a Transmission Filter, its just not a Honda service part, but I had it changed it anyway). Tavis and his crew did a great job and it was a fair price and a pleasure to do business with them. Century Automotive is my go to Auto-Repair shop for any future service work. They are golden, its hard to find a good AND nice mechanic. I had been to two places prior that day, one place - 2 hour wait, second place - berated, lectured, and upselled at. Although I didn't get any paid work done, I asked them to read my engine codes and make sure my spark plug job was correct. They cleaned the air flow valve in front of me and sent me on my way good to go, and I will absolutely be back with both cars for anything in the future!
