Not only was I able to bring my car in to get checked the same day I called, the inspection was completed within two hours. This is a no frills repair shop that was easy to work with, especially when I wanted something done last minute. They did a full inspection and made me feel much more comfortable about my purchase. First off I'm not from Austin and l was up here when my truck broke down. The thermostat on my truck just went hot. I had to rent a room for the night and looked up places to fix my truck. This location popped up with good rating and reviews. I guess most people don't know much about fixing cars but just need to get their car fixed. Which is why I'm gonna leave it 2 stars. I should of follow the repair me website instead and went to a certified place. I barely made it to this place because my truck was running hot and could of destroyed my engine. Being said l just wanted to fix it and go home. I got it here around 12-1 pm and was quoted $486 to $586 to fix it... price difference is with the part (the water pump) they said they don't know which pump it is. The cheaper or expensive one, well how can you not know if you pulled it out to see it was cracked. *red flag (at that moment l knew l was gonna pay ) If you look up quotes online ... this job is usually around 3 hours and 300-400$ l would say $350 but I'm not in Houston to fix it. $270 for labor which is $90 an hour basically is what l was charged. I posted my receipt to show you the break down. I had to wait overnight and spend another $100 to stay to get back next day. So all in all l was charged dealer price on my old beat up truck. They fix the problem but l still need a radiator flush $135 to do that. I'll never come back here and wouldn't recommend it. I wanted to give this place business (family own) and did ( l know l was over charged but what can you do when you know your truck won't make it elsewhere). This place knew that l would never come back but l suggest you don't even come here. read more

Lopez Auto fixed my son's car for a great price so I trusted them with my Jeep Cherokee. It was making a lot of banging noise from the front passenger side and started really shaking between 60 and 70 MPH. They diagnosed the banging from worn out motor mounts. They fixed that quickly and started trying different things to get rid of the shaking. It took a lot of trial and error, but they finally fixed it by replacing the axle mounts in the front and found that one tire was adding to the problem. They wouldn't give up until it was fixed right. The best thing was the price was outstanding for all the labor they put in. Thank you! read more

I came here 2 months ago to get the company van's oil changed and mentioned in passing that my personal car's driver's side windshield wiper had broken during the snow and ice in February. He said that it was simple to fix, the screw probably got loose. Today, I came back and mentioned to the son about my windshield wiper, and he remembered me! He quickly screwed my wiper back into place. I also got an oil change, and it was SUPER quick. They didn't even charge me for the 30 second windshield wiper fix, like most mechanics would. ...just be forwarned exactly what you are being charged for.... I needed and Oil Change and a new battery and didn't pay attention....I was charged $80 dollars for a battery installation. I couldn't see how it would be possible to cost 80 dollars to install a new battery. In the end it was higher than the cost quoted by the dealer because dealer installation of new battery was free. I argued and they refunded me a little bit of the difference but I'm sure not thrilled. read more

Initial visit with Joaquin went great. He seemed honest and was really helpful. Brought the car back in to get an estimate once I knew the exact repair needed (got that from dealership) and Joaquin wasn't there. His Dad was. His Dad took several minutes on the computer to 'calculate' the estimate and came up with a price a full $220 OVER the dealership's estimate. I asked him how much he was charging for the part and it was $250 more than I'd seen them at local parts shops. When I asked what it would cost if I brought my own part - he told me the labor price would go way up. I called him a crook and left. Went to Sears at Barton Creek Mall, disappointed that I couldn't support local business. read more
