I was a student for a couple years, but as time went on, the instruction got poorer. Liz tended to be more focused on her phone than the students during our lessons. Eventually, between work and my budget I determined I needed to take a break. When I tried to do so I was wrapped up in a mess of BS with Liz. I had a number of make up lessons from when the barn was away at shows and couldn't find an instructor to cover lessons (they require lesson payment up front at the start of the month, regardless of if their instructors will be there or not). Those were never made up as I had to give "official notice" to pause my weekly lessons due to my work schedule. I was told that if I wasn't enrolled in their monthly lesson program, then I was not due to receive my makeup lessons. As a result, I paid for a moth of lessons that I couldn't take due to my travel schedule for work as I was told I had to pay for them and could always make them up (with multiple makeup lessons already outstanding). Then I was told I could not schedule these makeup lessons unless I was still making monthly payments. I work full time and travel regularly for my job. Between my work schedule and their show schedule it was impossible to make up lessons as it was, forget about paying $300 a month to hope I would get 1 or 2 makeups in a month when I had 5 or 6 still outstanding! I understand needing to have an active show schedule as I was a AA circuit rider myself in younger years, but you need to have respect for your adult riders too. In the end, I needed to take a break due to my work and would have returned if it hadn't been for the unscrupulous business practices and lack of customer service shown by Liz and Century Mills. Instead, I'm a former client who will never return, despite being a lifelong equestrian. When my schedule allowed I joined another farm and remain swindled out of hundreds of dollars by this farm. read more

I wish I could leave zero stars, horrible experience with this barn and Jai in particular. We don't ride there but after our daughters lease horse passed unexpectedly we wanted to find her a new horse to show on this show season. She was devastated after the passing and wouldn't even go look at other horses until we received the CMS website from her trainer. They do a great job of making it look like every horse they have is perfect. Looks can be deceiving and proved to be for us. We took multiple trips there and came close to purchasing a horse from them until on our daughters second ride on this particular gelding he tried bucking her off. Our daughter got off the horse and the trainer then got on the horse and she was thrown off within 10 seconds. Obviously we didn't buy that horse and found out he tore a ligament a week later. We decided not to buy yet but to take our time and find the right horse for our daughter and we would lease one of Jai's "perfect" show horses. We were told that this horse would be perfect for our daughter, no issues. She would have a fun, safe summer learning, riding and showing like we planned. So I paid a significant amount of money for a 6 month lease, the horse showed up and our daughter fell in love. Up to this point, Jai was very attentive, always returned calls and texts and there for whatever we needed. That all changed when we found out that this horse was nothing like what we were told. He's spooked multiple times where our other horses did not and I understand a horse can spook but this horse was sold to us as being "bulletproof". So the spooking is a safety concern but the real safety concern comes with his bolting after a jump. He can be great until he's not and he will just decide that he's done and bolt after a jump trying to lose our daughter. This happened at Fieldstone where we brought in this horse and her pony to show and after the first day her trainer didn't want her getting on the horse again as she didn't think he was safe. We had one of the other trainers ride him and the horse did the same thing. We were told to get his back injected and did but the vet took an x-ray of his back and said it wasn't that bad and shouldn't cause him to behave the way he is. Now all this time we are speaking with Jai and she's telling us all the right things. We sat down at Fieldstone and I felt very good about the conversation. She had a couple other horses coming off lease, she said they were perfect...again. She wanted to take the horse back and figure out what's wrong with him but she would make this right. Talk is cheap and that's all we've gotten almost 2 weeks later. A lot of unanswered texts, a lot of promises, a lot more information about these 2 other "perfect" horses she had. One that now won't trot, needed back injections also and couldn't ride in a show ring by himself. And the other perfect horse that wasn't even at her barn and now has a cut on it's leg, is on antibiotics for it and needed to be seen by the vet. Look, I understand things happen, they're horses and very fragile animals. My problem lies in that Jai hasn't been straight with us since day one. I overpaid for what was supposed to be a perfect show horse for our daughter and he is anything but. We told Jai of our frustration and she got upset and is now saying that we have a contract and we have to honour it and she won't work with us to remedy this problem. All we tried to do was help our daughter who lost her horse so she could have a successful summer learning, riding and showing. We believed in what Jai told us and not much of it has turned out to be true. I'm sure people have had good experiences with her, we have not and if by writing this I can save one person the frustration and aggravation we've had to go through, it was worth it. Please just beware and be very careful of what you sign. I believe I just paid a lot of money for a show horse that we don't feel safe putting our daughter on to show. read more

I am relatively new to the barn. I have only been there 4 months but I can't say enough good things. The people have been nothing but friendly and welcoming. The lesson horses are seriously good quality and I have only ever owned my own horses so my standards are high. And the training is exactly what I was looking for. I am returning to ride after more than 15 years and needed a trainer that could build back my confidence. Liz is an amazing trainer. She customizes her approach to your skill level and goals and moves you along at the right pace for you. I have progressed so far in just 4 months that I am now half leasing a horse. Liz and the owner have paired me with the perfect horse to bring me the rest of the way to getting back in the show ring. I am very grateful and super excited about what's to come. read more

I had a similar experience to that of Courtney F. I took lessons there a couple of years ago for several months, and it was very difficult to schedule make-up lessons. In addition, I made it clear when I signed up that I was only taking lessons through a particular date, and then when it got closer to that date, and I told them I was going to stop, I was told that I needed to give them a month's notice, and I was forced to pay for a month that I was unable to schedule lessons for (due to vacation plans and work schedule). I been with CMS for over 2 years. I love the facility and staff - it's my second home. There are 2 large rings for riding all year around - rain or shine - as one is indoor with heated, comfortable lounge for family and friend. The best part is the instructors - they are trainer/riders who love riding and horses. They support you and challenge you to meet your riding goals. There is a variety of horses for riders of all levels - from ponies to fancy jumpers. I do board my horse there and rest easy knowing that his care is excellent - not a scratch is missed or uncared for. He has a customized feeding regimen and schedule based on his dietary needs.
