If you need to kill time there's also a major mall across the parking lot. The District is attached to a restaurant (Roam). The restaurant has modern decor and is a fun environment. I wouldn't sing praises for the food, but it's a solid option when catching a show. The District is basically a mid size open box building with a stage at the front. We were on the rail so we could see perfectly. I have no complaint about acoustics within the building. There's a "U" shaped balcony above the concert floor. If you're on the balcony rail you would be able to see the show with no difficulty at all. My guess is the venue comfortable capacity is about 1,000 people. We only had water during our show, but I was incredibly impressed that a bottle of water only cost $2. I've been to similar venues in Milwaukee and Chicago and generally pay upwards of $5 just for a water. All in all The District is a nice midsize event venue Sioux Falls should be proud to call their own.

Even the young man who went for a spoon because my granddaughter only eats Mac n' cheese with a spoon. Even clean up was so smooth we hardly noticed. Also everyone raved about the food! I was considering this facility for a wedding reception and had talked to Melissa, all seemed…read moregreat, the photos online looked great. My wedding planner called me and said there were 3 people in line for my date and so Melissa was sending me a contract to sign and invoice for half the cost, and I needed to sign and pay within 24 hours or I would lose the date. I didn't have time to see the venue in person prior to signing. I paid and signed. The first 2 people I told that I had booked that venue told me that they had been to a wedding there and it was not a well kept or updated venue when they saw it. I then went to an open house and saw the space for myself. I had to use the restroom when I first got there and honestly felt like I was using the restroom at a gas station in Belvedere, SD. (No offense - but if you have been there, you know.). I then went out and looked at the venue. The carpet in the bridal suite was loose and all bunched up by the doorway when you walked in. The whole Facility didn't appear to have been updated in years. I only peaked in the kitchen, but it was very small and appeared dirty, which I found odd for an open house. I decided that the location would not work for us. Based on these reasons and several other things I noted at the open house, including staff interactions with other guests and the general disrepair of the building. I found another venue and called Melissa to cancel and ask if there was any possibility of receiving a partial refund of my down payment (half of the full cost of renting venue) if they were able to rebook. Melissa said no, and immediately seemed to become very defensive and aggressively told me that we had a contact that was legally binding. My tone had been kind, polite and not at all aggressive. I then told her that I didn't want to offend her but I wanted to let her know why I felt the venue wouldn't work for us. (As a business owner myself I always want the feedback to know what people are thinking.). As I calmly outlined what I described above, she started yelling over me. Stating amongst other things that the bathrooms were remodeled in 2017 and no one has EVER told them that the venue was anything other than top notch - the other 1 star reviews here contradict that. I finally hung up on her as she had elevated to screaming in my ear. This for me went from, "This is not a venue I would use for a wedding." To not being willing to recommend it for anyone due to the extremely unprofessional response from Melissa. After posting this review on Google - Melissa started sending her "flying monkeys" to attack me - stirring up as much drama as she can - going as far as making up stories about me and such. She has gone beyond unprofessional to absolutely unhinged.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Sioux Falls - Room was ok. Burn of some type on the couch, small piece of broken glass by the bathroom sliding door.

Had issues with the tv first two nights but was resolved. Couch had melted (burn) fabric in one spot. Found a small piece of glass by the sliding door going into the bathroom. Comfy bed and pillows. Employees were great. Everyone was pleasant and accommodating. Lady who runs the breakfast was top notch!! Construction around hotel made it difficult to get in to hotel but that's not their fault.

I noticed that they have a snack station where they sell ice cream, hot pockets, etc. We were promptly checked in and we stumbled like zombies into our room on the third floor. It was completely quiet. The bed was comfy and everything felt clean. I have to say that I appreciated the cleanliness of the carpeting. Coming from Florida, I'm used to a stickiness to the floor from humidity. I walked all over that floor with no ick stuck to my feet. Our room had a microwave, fridge, and a coffee pot provided. There's a pull out sofa, that actually looked like high-quality. Although, I did not test that out. The layout of the room included a desk area and a pivoting TV so that you can view it from the bed or the pull out sofa area. The bathroom was spotless. The water has a softener and it is super slippery. Be careful in the shower. It feels like you never get the soap off, which is very common with water softeners. The hairdryer that they provided was not my favorite. I'm usually OK with hotel hairdryers. This one dries fast, but it smells awful. You can smell the heating element. It just might be time for them to upgrade that hairdryer. Breakfast is served in the mornings from 6 AM to 9 AM. They have pandemic-proofed the area and provide individually wrapped slices of toast, bagels, muffin, etc. There's a juice station, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water. They serve oatmeal, scrambled eggs and sausage links, but you have to rely on the employee to serve those to you. I felt very safe eating breakfast here. There is a beautiful chandelier in the breakfast area. If I had to offer any constructive criticism, I would recommend dusting it. It's made out of beautiful clear blown glass globes. Unfortunately, it does show settled dust. Hey, I get it, I wouldn't want to clean that thing either. It looks tedious. Around the corner from the lobby there is an indoor pool, Business center and fitness center. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. It's super close to everything. There is a mall within walking distance, albeit, a dying mall. There are several restaurants and other shopping within 1 mile, and it's about 20 minutes from the airport. This hotel is super convenient, friendly and clean...And that's all I can ask for while I'm away from home.
