A great way to spend time with friends and family, and seriously, this makes SUCH a cute date. It's so simple. You are not required to make a reservation (they actually do not take reservations at this time). Upon walking in the first thing you'll probably notice is the enormous selection of clay pieces. They range from very small knick-knacks to large vases. It's totally affordable too, priced as low as $8 to as high as $80. Pick your piece, paint it however you like. The hardest part will be waiting the week-long period for it to be fired. My husband and I had so much fun picking our piece, choosing the colors and applying them! I was so stoked to pick them up! The glaze goes on very light, because the clay sort of "absorbs" it, so I didn't really know how my creation would turn out. What an awesome surprise! My piece is the ghost plant ($22.00) and my husband painted the plant pot ($20.00). We are totally in love with A Way with Clay. I'm already setting dates up with friends and family so I can bring home more adorable creations and to have fun! I hope this small business THRIVES. We got there at 10am on a Friday morning and it was nice and quiet and not busy until about 11/11:30am. We took 2 hours to help our kids paint 2 items each. My son (5) and daughter (9) both enjoyed their visit! The inside is kept nice, organized and clean. The ladies working today were wonderful! *Prices are a bit high in my opinion. For 1 Small/Medium item, 2 Small items and 1 Mini item we paid $112.36 (with tax), but I know the business has to be able to make a profit as well. We will be back, and we'll probably just paint 2 small items next visit so that it's more affordable for a fun craft outing. Thank you A Way with Clay! Often, my daughter gets frustrated, noting that my projects turn out 'better' than her own. I try to explain how age, attention to detail, and the like affect our projects, but she still pouts. Well, this project was so well planned and easy to execute that my daughter's turned our looking fabulous! Later, family members had difficulty determining whom had made which. Keren Brown, the owner of Mondaes, has been awful with us and to us. She refers to herself as a…read morebusiness wizard, even boasting that she'll teach others, for a price, on how they can grow their own business. Visit any of her Instagram posts and you'll see her singing her own praises over and over. But in my opinion, she's an awful business person. Not only have my experiences with her been overwhelmingly substandard, but I'd personally witnessed her be downright unprofessional, nasty, accusatory, with others, going so far as to lie to someone's face repeatedly. She's lied to my daughter and I, she's lied to other students, she's lied to her staff, she's lied to potential customers. You may ask, why I had continued to return to Mondaes. Why would I give my thousands of dollars to them? The answer is I love the hobby and I cherish the friendships I've made. The fellow students I've encountered have helped create a fun community, something I looked forward to every week. Combine that with the excellent education that Pam and Dave were providing, and it made it worth dealing with the unprofessional Keren. Multiple times Keren asked me if I wanted to invest in Mondaes, the last time via email. Previously, she had asked in person and once had called my home. I asked her for a Profit and Loss statement. I can't imagine investing in anything without knowing where the business stood financially. She said the last year's numbers wouldn't look good because things had been slow. Keren said she would get me the statement, and then failed to provide it at all. Without that statement, I needed to do some research so I could formulate an educated answer should she present the question to me again. I found information doing a "Liens Search" at Idaho.gov. I researched Keren Brown, Mondaes MakerSpace and Puffy Mondaes, the two business names Keren used. She changed from Puffy Mondaes a handful of years back for what, a "fresh start" dodging creditors, liens and responsibilities? Same business, same owner, same space, same stock...just changed the name. Last I checked, there were over 59 liens against Keren, some of them open, some of the closed, many of them new, most of them not very old. The latest was as recent as 5/15/25. Liens are primarily for non-payment of loans and taxes, but most disturbing is her non-payment of her staff. Back in 2023 I learned of an employee that had to go to the Labor Board to get paid wages that were way overdue. That employee eventually quit Mondaes. In 2024, I learned of other employees not getting paid. In 2025, Keren lost five employees, including Pam, Dave, Daisy, Muriel and Jasmine, supposedly due to nonpayment of wages. One may ask themselves, how do I know all that? Keren talks a lot, and she's loud, there are hard floors and sounds carry. Oh yeah, there's also a lien against her from the Labor Board and the police have also been into Mondaes numerous times to serve legal papers, including multiple for non-payment of rent. On the note of non-payment of rent, Mondaes tends to move unexpectedly, before leases are complete. Very reminiscent of dine-and-dash. Combine all these factors, she lost her best asset in teacher Pam Main, she was holding classes that were overbooked for the equipment available, gave disjointed commentary, lacked level-appropriate curriculum that was underwhelming at best, I knew I couldn't stay any longer. She was incredibly rude to myself, some of my fellow classmates and other customers. She lied to me, to other students, and to other customers. And lastly, I'd been there on more than one occasion when the police had been in to serve her legal papers. Aside from the community of fellow potters, there was no reason to return to Mondaes. For many of us, spending our hard earned money at a business that was so bad at business, so dismissive to the community, didn't make sense, so many of us aren't returning.

You never reprimand a child, that is the parent's job. And absolutely inappropriate when the child isn't doing anything wrong! I have never felt so nickel and dimed over literally a SQUEEZE of paint, especially when paying $25 for small items? Very unprofessional and the worker continued to do so after I asked him not to and addressed he was not using too much paint as we were sharing the colors. See photo-this is absolutely not too much paint to use for 2 people! Appalling way to treat customers. My son accidentally knocked into a shelf (which is easy to do, there is no walking room everything is stuffed in super tight and uncomfortably) and the manager let out a huge sigh and rolled her eyes. I immediately told her that her behavior was inappropriate and he did nothing wrong, however he was already shamed by her and got upset and embarrassed. I asked to speak to the manager which happened to be the same woman and I told her how unimpressed I was with our service and treatment. She offered no apology and burst into tears and said her grandparents are dying and she literally ran to the bathroom and slammed the door shut and never left the entire time we were there (another 30 minutes). No resolution of any kind was offered - she literally hid from us! So I paid my $70(!) ticket and got the owner's contact information, however, based on other reviews, I doubt it will help!

I don't believe that anybody should own a paint store that cannot handle children. I felt very uncomfortable as Dawn was very unprofessional and her approach to handle a six-year-old. There are just some people that should never be around children because they're abusive verbally and I can see that very clearly with this woman. Having the audacity to tell me that I'm a bad mother was not a smack in the face because I know who I am.. I know where I'm going.. and I know what I stand for.. The other sticker and journaling items were $5-$12, which felt a bit steep for secondhand supplies. I only heard of Cats Eye within the last two or three days. I thought my friends were hiding this gem from me. Nope. The brick & mortar store is THAT new! (I won't hide this gem from them.) I saw so many crafty goodies: ink pads, rubber stamps, markers, pencils, paints, brushes, yarn, hooks, patterns, raw wool, stickers, cardstock, storage, beads, wire, buttons, jewelry findings, and even office supplies. I arrived after 5pm, and I asked Shay to please kick me out at when she closes 6pm, so I don't keep her here that late. (I think I was a little late anyway.) I'll have to go back ASAP to finish up my 1st round of shopping. The other thing I noticed was that there's a classroom at the back of the space. I bet there will be some really fun opportunities to learn techniques and new crafts. There is a cool scheduling tool on their website for when you want to donate some of your unused artistic or crafty supplies. Items inside are inexpensive and in great condition. Volunteers then organize and price all of this crafty goodness. Hours are limited and it's easy to find only if you know where to look. There's not really a sign -- it's upstairs inside North End Organic Nursery (NEON). There are stairs with sturdy railings, but no elevator. You never know what you're going to find... bottle caps, binder clips, buckles. They've got greeting cards with envelopes for 10 cents. Prices are very reasonable. Head out there today and get crafty! This is a registered non-profit organization, and cash donations are welcome too.
