I'm not usually someone who leaves reviews, but after such a healing and supportive experience, I felt it was important to share. I came in extremely anxious, dealing with major dizziness and vertigo. From my first visit, I felt comfortable, validated, and truly cared for. Everything, from the clean, calming space and kind, empathetic staff to the serene location, was thoughtfully designed for patient comfort. The Space The environment feels almost like a spa: quiet, not overstimulating, and perfect for someone sensitive to light and sound. After appointments, I could relax in their red light therapy room with two comfortable beds, so calming I often felt ready to fall asleep. They have a few plants, water stations that hydrogenate your water, and covered lights to soften harsh fluorescent glare. Their equipment is modern and well-maintained. The Location NorCal Brain Center is located in a quiet, tree-covered business plaza (not a busy retail strip), which keeps things peaceful both outside and in. They have a main suite and an adjacent one offering PEMF and oxygen tank therapy, which I found a great addition to my healing plan. The Staff & Care Over the phone, by email, and in person, the staff have always been warm and accommodating. Unlike my primary care visits, where I was only offered prescription Dramamine (which eventually stopped working), NorCal Brain Center created a personalized plan with targeted supplements that made a real difference for me. They also offer chiropractic services but start with the least invasive methods. Pricing & Scheduling The treatments are on the pricier side, but for me, they were worth every penny. They combined one-on-one therapy with PEMF therapy and saw major improvements. They allow split payments, so you don't need to pay the full treatment plan upfront. I paid per visit. They do have a late cancellation fee (less than 24 hours), so if you're not feeling well, especially with migraines, call a day ahead to reschedule and they'll gladly help. I had a horrible experience here. This center is pure business. Their treatment plans are crazy expensive and the amount of work they did definitely did not seem worth thousands. I felt like I was being pressured into treatment from the beginning consultation, but I went ahead because I thought they could help me. The entire time I felt like my concerns weren't being taken seriously / they didn't couldn't do much for me. Anytime I asked them the reason for my forehead headaches there wasn't a clear response from them. The head owner told my physical therapist to "do as much as you can" as if the team knew that there was a deeper problem that they couldn't solve, or they just weren't invested in my well-being. When it was my turn to use the VR headsets, another physical therapist came in and asked if his patient could use the VR headset instead even when my physical therapist's name was on the schedule. I also can't believe how classist and petty some of the chiropractors were. At my $700 retest, one chiropractor asked me where I got my bag. When I told her the store, she canceled the exam five minutes later. It make me question how reliable my lab results were and how they compared their data points to my beginning test. Not to mention - I paid $700 dollars! After my retest, one of the chiropractors there suggested I add on four more wellness sessions to fix an issue I had that they didn't catch in my first test. And what do I find in my email? A treatment plan to repeat the entire six week treatment and pay 4000 more dollars. When I called to question this, the receptionist was stunned. It's like they thought "oh, she has headaches and dizziness, she's not going to remember what we're saying to her." These people seemed to not get the memo that I have a photographic memory. I remember EVERYTHING that is said to me. The receptionist became very aggressive and started gaslighting me. She kept denying and was pressuring me into paying the rest of treatment money. I stood my ground and told her that this isn't the treatment plan I was suggested, and that I needed receipts. After saying multiple times the chiropractor was "sick" she finally went and confirmed it was wellness sessions. They couldn't even admit they made a mistake. Why? They didn't want to admit they were trying to suck me dry without adequately fixing my issues. That just proves that there was some other agenda. Otherwise, they would never treat me like this. I feel like especially in the Bay Area businesses see students and they do extra to make sure students feel unwelcome. For some reason, they are more concerned about teaching "life lessons" to hone in the fact that they are grown adults and we don't have as much "real world experience" as them. These people are forgetting we are grown and have literal degrees. I can see through all of the BS. They are the ones who are acting like teenagers. Norcal brain center been a god send. My 9 year old daughter was struggling with concentration issues and had been getting headaches regularly. Doctors couldn't find anything wrong with her and didn't have a solution for us other than take some Tylenol and deal with the symptoms. My daughter had a concussion when she was around 5 and we didn't see any symptoms that could be related till this time. Nor Cal Brain Center was recommended to me by my biological dentist because I have many health issues including gums that are not healing. Regarding the billing, the center does not bill my insurance but instead would provide a superbill for me to file claim myself. My son was 5 when we started treatments with Norcal Brain Center. He has severe ADHD, and I suspected ODD as well. We did traditional therapy through our insurance and were still having major problems at home and school. Since our treatment with Dr. Minh and Dr. Joey he is a new kid. He gets himself dressed for school, brushes his own teeth, and his meltdowns are so few and far in between now. There has been a remarkable improvement. He's made so much progress with his impulse control, attention, and overall behavior. The treatments were really cool. The first half of the appointment was spent playing fun high tech games to work on motor skills and impulse control, and the second half of the treatment was neurofeedback. Results were seen gradually and when I say they were life changing, it's not an overstatement! It was very expensive to pay for out of pocket but worth every penny. They did prescribe supplements which my son refused to take, also recommended diet changes which he also fought, so if I had to do it over again I would not invest in the supplements. Both my friend and I went to Norcal Brain Center together as we had heard about the services and were both really curious about the hyperbaric oxygen chamber. What an amazing experience! Dr. Joey and the staff were so welcoming and really patient with explaining their processes and the benefits of the treatments. We were given a little tour and we both decided to do some tests because I had experienced vertigo in the past. It was so cool to experience the eye-tracking and balance tests. When we finally got to the Hyperbaric Chamber we were surprised at how comfortable it was to have the both of us in there at the same time. We both relaxed and watched videos on our phones but the best part was knowing that we were actively working on our health. It was explained to us that the benefits of the treatment were to increase immunity, increase the healing of injuries and chronic infections, and reduce inflammation.
