She didn't even try to properly diagnose them and just ordered an X-ray. Their directions for X-rays were totally inaccurate. It wasted my time. When I called them back, the front desk person was not helpful, and it wasn't easy to get in touch with them. Finally, I got the X-ray done. I made another appointment with them. I waited over a month before I got to see the doctor again. This time was with the husband. He just looked at the X-ray quickly and recommended PHP. He didn't diagnose my knees either. Somehow, I went ahead with the PHP that day. He said it's not covered by insurance and it costs $900, which I paid right there. The PHP worked for a month or so, but it wore off quickly. And they also claimed my insurance, which I questioned with no definite answer from them. I called and emailed their admin who takes care of billing, but they were silent and cricket. It was a total waste of my time and money. Please stay away from them. Recently, I met a doctor friend who used to know this couple. He didn't recommend them. I wished I knew before and had gone to Stanford instead.

It really is difficult to get hold of the front desk as well. The whole entire appointment itself took less than 10 minutes majorly discussing about insurance coverage for the MRI that I requested to take since his wife informed that if there is no pain in the ankle that I had due to a previous fracture injury then there's nothing much to do. She didn't even think about observing it but with her two eyes and told me not to worry since it's from previous damaged tissues around the ligaments which I can even observe that myself. Despite filling out the online pre check in form you still have to fill out multiple papers of new patient forms; really disappointed with her bedside manner nonetheless the professionalism from her. I requested to see a doctor who can listen to my concerns NOT the billing department. Cancelled the whole entire MRI and seeking for a new orthopedic doctor. Good luck.

Dr. Mehta did an x-ray that found no arthritis or bone spurs. She recommended PT type exercises. She said it was a minor tear and didn't recommend surgery that could possibly make it worse over time and cause arthritis. I did the exercises religiously for a month and took a prescription anti-inflammatory for a week. For years I continued to play tennis and pickleball with no recurring discomfort as long as I did the exercises three times a week. As I approach 80 years old (now I walk/hike/bike ride instead of court sports) I still have no issues with the knee. And a study recently came out saying meniscus surgery has proven to cause a worsening of the tear and painful arthritis. THANK YOU Dr. Mehta for protecting and improving my life.

Save your body, save your time, and save your money and go somewhere else…read more I paid out of network expecting timely orthopedic care; what I got was absolutely zero physical exam, a denied MRI, weeks of delay, and a threat to call 911 when I asked for accountability. I went to see Dr. Pamela Mehta as an out-of-network patient because I was in severe pain in my hip/pelvis area and wanted help quickly. Unfortunately, the visit was one of the most disappointing and unprofessional medical experiences I have had. Before the appointment, I was asked to get an X-ray. At the visit, Dr. Mehta looked at the X-ray and told me it looked fine. When I pointed to the exact area where I had pain, she seemed unsure whether the issue was my hip, rib, abdomen, intestines, or pelvis. That alone was concerning, but what concerned me most was that there was essentially no physical examination at all. She did not ask me to perform any movements, did not test range of motion, did not ask me to lift my leg, did not examine my gait, and did not physically evaluate the painful area. I explained that the pain felt bone-related and became worse when standing on my left foot, but there was still no meaningful hands-on evaluation. Instead, she ordered an MRI and recommended ibuprofen. The MRI was then denied by insurance more than once. Based on the denial explanation I received, the medical necessity was not documented adequately, and the clinical reasoning submitted does not appear to have matched my actual symptoms. Weeks later, the issue is still unresolved, and the office seemed unclear about the peer-to-peer process and the status of the authorization. The whole reason I paid out of network was that I was in serious pain and needed timely, competent care. Instead, I left with no clear diagnosis, no real exam, an MRI request that insurance rejected, and weeks of delay. This is exactly the kind of experience that makes patients lose trust in medical providers: a quick visit, little actual evaluation, an expensive out-of-network bill, and poor follow-through when the authorization fails. When I later went to the office to ask what was going on, the interaction became even more concerning. I was frustrated, but I was there because I had paid for care and still had no answer. During that office interaction, Dr. Mehta initially said something along the lines of reimbursing me so I would leave. When I responded that yes, I wanted my money back, she immediately changed position and said I would not be reimbursed, then threatened to call 911. To me, that felt retaliatory and punitive, not professional. It came across less like a physician trying to resolve a legitimate patient complaint and more like someone trying to use pressure and intimidation once I challenged the quality of care and asked for a refund. Based on my experience, this visit raised serious concerns about competency, documentation, follow-through, professionalism, and judgment under pressure. A doctor can have a bad day, but appearing unsure about the source of pain, skipping a meaningful physical exam, submitting an MRI request that gets denied repeatedly, and then threatening to call 911 after a patient asks for accountability says a lot. I paid out of network expecting expertise, urgency, and professionalism. What I experienced was a rushed and inadequate evaluation, poor documentation, poor follow-through, and an extremely unprofessional response when I questioned the care. If you have hip or pelvis pain and need a careful physical exam, clear clinical reasoning, proper insurance documentation, and respectful follow-through, I would not recommend this office based on my experience. = What is especially troubling about this response is the gaslighting. Instead of addressing the substance of my complaint, Dr. Mehta is trying to rewrite the situation as if the main issue was patient behavior rather than the quality of care, lack of meaningful examination, poor follow-through, and failed MRI authorization process. She says there was a "well documented physical exam." That does not match my experience in the room. I was not asked to perform meaningful movement testing, range-of-motion testing, gait evaluation, leg raise testing, or any hands-on examination of the painful area. Claiming after the fact that a complete exam occurred does not change what I experienced as the patient. She also claims law enforcement was contacted because of "threatening behavior." I strongly reject that characterization. No law enforcement ever showed up, and from my perspective, the 911 threat was used to intimidate me and reframe a legitimate patient complaint as a safety issue in front of other patients and staff. The issue is not simply that insurance denied the MRI. The issue is that I paid out of network expecting timely, competent orthopedic care, but received no clear diagnosis, no meaningful exam from my perspective, poor follow-through, and then a false accusation that I was thr

The MRI report wasn't accurate and didn't rotate 2 torn ligaments, it only rotated 1 torn ligament and 2 breaks 1 by my knee the other at my ankle. I went to a podiatrist, who continually told me it would heal. He was however concerned about the break at me knee and wanted me to see an orthopedic. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kim. I had 1 more podiatrist appointment scheduled before seeing Dr. Kim, when he asked if I'd made the orthopedic appointment I confirmed and told him the date, he asked who the Dr was. He didn't look happy. He asked me to step on the floor xray machine. I told him no way, cant do that. He got stern, said there's been plenty of healing time, this was end of June. I stepped onto the xray machine and SCREAMED so loud, the pain excruciating. He proceeded to tell me I was having a "mental" reaction to pain that really wasnt there! Dr Kim noticed on my MRI CD that there were 2 torn ligaments not just 1. Surgery was scheduled ASAP. BEST CARE EVER! Dr. Kim's entire staff was incredibly helpful, caring and ON IT! 1 year later and Im doing great, only negative I have is that cold weather aches. Ill take it! On July 18, 2026, my mother had a hip pinning surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital . Looking at the…read moreX-ray taken after the surgery by Dr. Peter Kim indicated that the surgery was performed successfully, with care and precision. However, ultimately, the post-operative care of Dr. Kim has caused far more harm than good in my mother's recovery process. After her transfer to a rehabilitation hospital, we learned that the post-operative order left by our surgeon were confusing and even contradictory, stating that she should be doing both "50/50" and "toe touch." Since the physical therapist was confused by his instructions, they attempted to contact the surgeon to gain further clarification. The physical therapist also asked me to also follow up with the surgeon, noting that at times they can be more responsive to the patient's concerns. I called the surgeon's office three times and, after four days of waiting, finally received a phone call from an office assistant. She said that the order was for 50/50 and the toe touch was wrong. I asked her to call the rehabilitation hospital to communicate these instructions to our physical therapist. The assistant replied that the rehabilitation hospital might not answer as it was 5 pm but I asked her to please leave a message and I gave her our physical therapist's name. To this day, I do not know whether a phone call was made or not. I tried to relay the information myself in an email to the rehab hospital. As the result of this information, my mother's therapy changed to walking rehab while experiencing excruciating pain. She had been experiencing great pain even while seated on the wheelchair for any period of time. On the morning of Thursday July 30th, we were informed that she had an appointment at 11:15 with the surgeon. She was to be taken to the surgeon's office with a wheelchair transport. I had never heard that a patient after surgery must be taken to the surgeon's office. I assumed that the surgeon would come to the patient. The ride -- though secure -- was difficult and painful for her. When we arrived at the surgeon's office, our appointment was 15 minutes late. Finally, once the appointment began, I handed the comprehensive report on my mother's surgery and rehabilitation (sent with us from the rehab hospital) but the assistant did not even look at the document. He then proceeded to ask us very basic questions making it evident that he did not know that there was any surgery performed, what type of surgery. In an off-handed way, he asked whether my mother was experiencing pain and when she answered that she had been and continues to be in extreme pain, he was surprised. His surprise was shocking to us given that she had been sitting in the wheelchair for almost an hour at this point and was not at a place in her recovery to sit comfortably for extended periods of time. He then said that he needed to remove the sutures from her leg. Astonished, I looked at the wooden, fixed-position examination bed situated in the room. The bed was 36 inches high with a small footstool next to it to allow the patient to climb atop it. I told him that my mother could not stand and climb atop that bed in her current condition. He said he would remove the stitches while she was seated on the wheelchair. I explained that she needed assistance to stand up to take off the pants in order to sit back down on the wheelchair for the suture removal. I also stated that her adult diaper needed to be opened to reach the sutures. The assistant looked shocked. He did not help to get her up and watched as my mother and I struggled to get her standing to pull down the pants. After checking the sutures, he left the room and came back with the surgeon. The surgeon arrived and looking at the sutures said to us, "you didn't need to come in for this, the nurses at the rehabilitation hospital could have removed them. They can stay in for another two weeks." I asked him if he had visited my mother since the surgery and he said no. So, it had been 13 days since her surgery and he had not ever visited with the patient. This means that the surgery rounds at the hospital were never made. I asked him about the about the accommodations offered for patients and he said if you wanted her to be laying down then you should have arrived on a gurney. I replied that I was not aware that a surgeon's office would not have accommodations available for patients. Overall, I'm writing this to inform others about the mistreatment that my mother received at Golden State Orthopedics and Spine by Dr. Paul Kim. Unfortunately, as a result of Dr. Kim's and his assistant's negligence in conveying incorrect information, my mother's recovery and rehabilitation has been set back quite a bit, causing her excess and unnecessary pain. I hope that by sharing our story, we can advocate for better treatment of my mother and other patients like her.
