I have two Saeco espresso machines that were not functioning. I finally found a place that would service them, Cerini/s. I picked them up today after getting them fixed and am overjoyed with the result of their work. The machines came back looking brand new and after just making a latte, the drink was better than before. The price for the repair was reasonable. They have a long backlog of machine repairs (I guess those in the know realize to take their machines to Cerini) so don't expect next day service. The store itself is fun to explore and I came back with a great pizza cutter for our dinner tomorrow night. The store is in a great area so plan on staying in the area for dinner after dropping off your machine, a bunch of interesting restaurants surround it. Lastly, the staff was friendly and informative, although I couldn't convince them to open up a branch store where I live in NJ. But I will keep trying. read more

Walking into here is basically a mini Italian home goods with all the good coffee finds and gifts for weddings and all kinds of things. They take care of your bomboniere needs and have a huge assortment of coffee available. Loose beans and packaged coffee of all kinds. If you think you know coffee and coffee machines you really don't. You might have your little moka pot and nespresso machine (this is basically coffee for dummies lol - its what I have). After walking into the coffee machine heaven I realized how much I don't know of anything. They have industrial type (for the home) coffee machines that will make you the most perfect, creamy, espresso. They also repair the machines and sell all their replacements (for the most part.) Giovanna was very helpful in helping us find a brand new rubber for a friends older manual coffee machine. She was hilarious and so kind! This place is loaded with Italians and I felt right at home. I'm definitely going to be coming back here for when I'm ready to get my profesh coffee machine and I can't wait! And now that Borgatti's is figuring out how to mail order raviolis I may never be back to Arthur Ave again, which is a shame because the Cerini store is incredible. Johnny has made coffee his life and it shows. They service machines, have the best beans, and even have a cat prancing around the place. I will always stop in and shop when I'm in the area, not just for the coffee but for all the specialties and interesting Italian gift items. Old-style family-run store that's great fun for an in-shop visit for cooks & coffee-lovers. We've been getting mail-order espressso for our Olympia machines from Johnny for years. We keep ourselves in espresso with repeat mail orders from Cerini's over the years. Without fail, the coffee appears on our doorstep seemingly minutes after ordering! (OK, maybe it's 2 days, but that's every time, without exception -- that's still super-impressive, no?) One time in deep winter, we let our supply get too low for even that two-day return, so we headed up to Cerini's arriving literally minutes before closing. Johnny and his mom, even as they were starting to close up, were welcoming and gracious, grinding our requested 2.2 lb bag of Essse Masini to order, and even letting us wander the store, answering all our questions. Just. Amazing. On the repair side, I've been maintaining our four old Olympia 67s for years, getting our parts from Johnny, who, again, is characteristically generous with phone advice and tips when repairs go beyond routine maintenance. We have never been to Cerini in person but over the past year we have ordered from them twice. They are so very easy to work with. We have purchased lots of imported herbs and chocolate from Italy. They cost a tad bit more than herbs in the grocery store but the quality is far superior and the flavor is unbeatable. The limoncello hard candy and the dark chocolates filled with limoncello are awesome. Highly recommend ordering online from Cerini. I came here looking for the made in Italy colored pasta dishes and serving platters. This place has so many to choose from. We found a serving for twelve platter and bowls with very large pasta server with handles(holds at least 3 pounds of pasta and meat) and a large vegetable platter for $200.00. Fantastic store! My parents have a Lavazza Espresso Point machine that they love, and finding the decaf cartridges for them has been difficult/impossible. This wonderful store had options available by non-Lavazza companies that make cartridges compatible with that machine. I was ecstatic! I also have had occasion to have Johnny fix my favorite of the 3 - the Lavazza Espresso Point. It's a temperamental machine and when he fixes one thing, another might fail. He's so persistent and will keep at it until it's back to perfect working order. The way they packed everything with such care insured every bottle was protected and every cookie and taralli arrived intact which is amazing. Cerini's is quirky, classy, authentic and competent. Starting with competent, the owner's son, Johnny, services the espresso machines sold in the store. We have owned Gaggia machines for 30+ years and have always been able to get parts from Cerini. Recently, the machine's group gasket was hard for me to dislodge so Johnny brought the machine down to his workbench. Turns out the boiler was leaking, too, so he and his co-worker worked on it for at least two hours until this extremely well used workhorse of a machine was functioning like new. This $90 rebuild saved me from having to plunk down $300 for a new machine and it is producing excellent lattes, cappuccinos and espresso once again. Classy is the adjective that best describes the merchandise. Quality imports for the kitchen from Italy. This ranges from a stainless steel, wood-fired backyard pizza oven (display model sitting on the sidewalk in front of the store) to the frequent merchandise samplers hawking everything from edible espresso cups to savory crackers with gourmet Italian toppings. Quirky because there are two store cats that sunbathe in the windows and, as kittens, amused the neighborhood by sneaking outside, climbing trees and requiring rescues by ladder. This is a family store that's been a fixture in the Belmont neighborhood for a long time. Italian is the default language when mom's working the register. One of my favorite stops on the weekly Arthur Avenue shopping extravaganza. read more

This review is strictly for online services. Finding a 3 cup gasket for a Vev Vigano has proven... challenging. Forget the price that would be higher than buying a new one but I like my 15+ year old VV, finding a gasket, even on Amazon, is close to impossible. So there I am several years ago, discovering that remote (for me) place that consistently sells these gaskets, and is also purveyor of the delicious classic Gianduja with whole hazelnuts bars, the obligatory side to my coffee. :) Service has been great and efficient as well. read more
