I'm a big fan of their produce & deli departments and hot prepared foods. What initially brought me in was the carnitas. A friend whose husband is Hispanic recommended them. I thought the carnitas were great, but you better go early or they'll run out. On the way out, there's a cash only cart that offers churros $1 and elote (Mexican style corn) $2 in a cup. I wanted to try the elote yesterday but didn't have cash. A friend said it was delicious. I usually only buy produce, seafood counter & deli stuff at Cermak, and do my other shopping elsewhere due to price. For example, a 32oz bottle of refrigerated coffee creamer was $4.40 on 3/27/17. It's usually $3 anywhere else. read more

Produce as far as the eye can see! The produce selection at Cermak Fresh Market is HUGE and, from what I can tell, all of it was good quality, with no visibly bad produce in sight. It's a little harder to navigate this store because it's a full Hispanic grocery store. Usually, at other stores like Meijer or Jewel or Walmart, all of the Hispanic items are in a single aisle. From the spices, to the beans, to the canned jalapenos - it's all located in one aisle at other stores. Not at Cermak. Beans has a dedicated aisle. Canned peppers - another dedicated aisle - and with so many more brands than a regular grocery store. Another huge plus at Cermak - elotes! (Corn on the cob to the non-spanish-speaking folks.) I miss elotes ever since I moved to the 'burbs from the city, where eloteros and paleteros walked up and down my block regularly. Only thing I didn't like about the elotes in a cup here is that the woman just put all the toppings (mayo, butter, cheese, and spices) right on top and didn't mix it first, so if you aren't careful your first bite would be a spoonful of mayo! They won't honor advertised prices even when the flyer is provided for proof and it is for the exact items you're trying to purchase. I'm told by a person who was holding out to be a manager 1) they have no control over their flyers; 2) despite the same sale run date is always Tuesday to Wednesday, they can end their sales early with out any notification posted any where; 3) they can raise prices higher than what is advertised despite enticing you to come in with lower prices and this is not false advertising; 4) it's a pandemic and they can falsely advertise to get people to come in and I should have no expectation to get they price they advertise in print and online. I like to go in this store mainly for their produce, meat and bakery. The store has a seriously wide selections and different options in their produce, meat and bakery department. The products are also always fresh, in a good quality and when it comes to their bakery, any pastries I bought from it is always delicious. I love pastries and the likes and it is a good thing that they have wonderful selections of it and I got to try different options which are always good and I observed that their bakery is way larger than any store I could think of near the location. The prices of this store on the other hand are noticeably cheaper compared to the other stores and I could always save more whenever I chose to have my groceries in here. Everything in here is honestly great except for their customer service. The staffs aren't friendly and they are a bit rude too. I like the store but when it comes to their staffs, nah. read more

I think I'm in love. It's clean and brightly lit. Plenty of parking. Easy to find and get to. The produce section is amazing- everything looked delicious and undamaged, and the prices were great. There were plenty of veggies/fruits that I had to google, because I'd never seen them before. That said, I'm scheming about expanding my vegetable scope very soon. My one complaint is that some staples were a little pricey- milk was $3.49/$3.99 per gallon, and cereal was expensive. I'm all for supporting the local economy, but when Cermak Fresh Market can actually shut down a neighboring Jewel Osco, that makes a statement! Think about it. When was the last time you actually seen a Jewel Food Store close up shop because of local competition? I am a witness! The fresh produce section, worthy...we all know that! The butcher counter...the beef is "Select" at best. Take a pass! The Pork cuts are your best option. However, I am talking convenience, have spent time and money here, and I like it! I love the produce at Cermak Fresh Market... Huge supply that doesn't go bad the day after you buy it. You won't believe the prices on produce too. 3 Huge Cucumbers for 99 cents? Yes, please. I like to juice from time to time, and when I do this is the best place to go... I can walk away spending $15 and that's enough for like 10-15 juices. Even when I do the math in my head as I'm picking out produce it is always cheaper then what I think it'll be at the register. I like their Carnitas too... they are really good. Nice Sunday morning breakfast, especially if you're the type to have a few drinks the night before and are hanging a little. Carnitas will fix you right up in no time. Those are the only things I've ever bought from this store. The prices are so low that I'm afraid of how processed the rest of the stuff is. So, I stay away. Best grocery store I've ever been to. Better selection than Fresh Market, Blue Goose, or Trader Joe's at MUCH better prices. The produce section is larger than most entire grocery stores and all of the produce is in excellent condition. There is a great selection of international and specialty items, again, at very good prices. Meat and seafood are also very fresh and with an amazing selection. The icing on the cake is that when we stopped here just before Christmas, the first thing we saw when we walked in was a mariachi band playing "Feliz Navidad" at the front of the produce area! Great prices on meat and produce. Check the flyers for sales in these departments. However, other items like milk, pasta, sauces, not the best prices at all. Definitely price check or wait for sales. With that said, this is one of my go to spots for meat, fruit and veggies. They also sell alcohol and specialty items. They have spices I cannot find easily at great prices. I only shop here with a handheld basket. There is no way I would do any serious shopping here. Also, oddly, I've never seen ice cream on their shelf, go figure. read more

Be sure and double check your prices when you scan out I was told that particular cookies that we purchased for $0.99 a package and they rang up at 3 hours and 49 cents after explaining the situation to the non speaking English cashier she called the manager over and he basically looked at us Shrugged his shoulders and said that is the price that they are not even willing to confirm that we had been told that they were $0.99 a piece we've been shopping at this location since it opened I assure you that I will find another location to shop because of their poor customer service read more

This place has poor customer service and did not seem to want to help a customer who was wearing an Arabic scarf Kofiyeh (red and white) in effort to cover nose, mouth due to these paranoia of the virus getting them and their changed policies that seem to discriminate against certain people tell them to back up behind some imaginary line whe the distance between the back edge of the conveyor belt to where the next customer pays is probably 6 feet. Then the cashier who tells the customer to back up farther gets the customer paying to get involved insulting and scaring the customer behind who was only trying to set items in hand on a solid surface as to not drop bottles in hand on the floor and place them on the counter metal part not on the conveyor belt and maintaining a distance not moving forward closer to the customer in front. This frightened the disabled customer and the customer left the items there, backed out and over to immediately exit the store after being verbally insulted by cashier and the front customer. The customer felt threatened by both the cashier and other customer and it was best to leave and there was no sale. The store lost a sale that day due to the cashier exerting some power or abuse of powers granted to insult customers. Also I decided to just leave because the cashier and the customer in front seemed to be holding up the line or chit chatting with each other instead of her moving the line forward (of course I was the next in line). I had to stand there watching him perhaps trying to get her phone number or something. She, the cashier, was taking too long. Maybe they wanted me to stand even father back from the 6 feet I was back was because they did not want me hearing their conversation as if I cared if even if it could have been potentially intimate or business? Maybe he was trying to get her phone number? If that is the case, that is not too professional on the cashier's part. read more

I had a taste for some Carnitas. Found out there was a Cermak Produce close by. It seems they have fresh fruits and vegetables and a huge variety of of other things. The carnitas tasted horrible. They had no flavor, even if they were from the previous day and if they were good, still should have tasted good. I was very disappointed. I have had carnitas from different places on 26th st, Pilsen or East Chicago IN and they all tasted good as back at home in Mexico. If you happen to have a taste or try mexican food at this place I would skip because you are not going to get the authentic stuff. Maybe the produce stuff is good. Also, some of the people that work there are not friendly. I asked a lady that works there in Spanish for something and she responded back to me in English and pointed at the stuff I was looking for. The good news first: Cermak is well organized, they have quality produce, and i love their fresh vegetable selection. Also they have very affordable prices on quality food. The bad part last: There woman's bathroom was horrific today. It was absolutely disgusting. If my phone wasn't full of pictures, and video's i honestly would of took a picture of it. You guys wouldn't believe what i seen without a picture. All three stalls had feces all over them. Feces was all over all three toilets. I had to go to the bathroom so bad that i ran to subway which was next door. I still really like this store over many of the aurora grocery stores, but the bathroom was extremely nasty today. Definitely did not feel welcome here with the terrible customer service. So I came to try out this new store since my friend at Fermilab gave me a coupon to shop here. After I checked out I realized that I did not use my coupon, so went to customer service to see how I work things out to still use the coupon I came in because. The guy pretty much laughed at me for asking and said I am welcome to shop any other time and use it. I was amazed by the rude response! In any other place they would have accommodated the customer. I had my receipt in hand and it would be just as easy to return my selection and add the new items and coupon back in. Went to Cermak yesterday for some produce and noticed the Strawberries that were 2 for $4 had mold in some. We told the manager and he opened the package of Strawberries and just took out those with mold and put the rest back. Right next to the Strawberries were oranges that were super soft and growing fuzz. Tomatoes also gross. I was shocked and will be not be going back. read more

I bought some chicken from here. Got home and opened. I gagged immediately from smell. Threw in garbage. Dumb me went back to buy cake for son and I walk in 7/31/17 and gagged again at smell. When this store first opened it was great. Slowly went down hill. Hispanic selection is really Mexican. Fruit is cheap but last only a few days. Meat is over all disgusting. I have tried beef, pork and seafood. All disgusting. Most cashiers don't speak English and act like you are inconveniencing them buy getting in line. I do like their selection of aloe water. I went back to Jewel. I pay more but quality is spot on. Looking for new Hispanic store. read more

We had been shopping there for years , it went from weekly to monthly shopping, reason being, the constant peddlers on the parking lot,last few times we went a couple of customers tried to sell us food stamps? Our last two trips have been disapointing, half of the fresh oyster were rotten and the parsley was infested with bugs. Shopped here about 4 times over the past year. Prices are high here. 2 of the visits involved I had horrible customer service. The last visit involved a package of spoiled bacon I purchased from the store the day prior. It had obviously sat outside of the freezer for hours before being put back in. It stunk up my kitchen when I opened it. I didn't have the receipt and they refused to refund or exchange. They wouldn't even scan the item to confirm the purchase. It cost me $8. I recently moved to the area and found this grocery store. It was, emphasis on was, a great place to shop. A few weeks ago I had to take back a carton of cream that had a future expiration date because it was completely curdled. 3 days ago, I bought "fresh" chicken thighs that I just had to throw out because they were completely rotten. I go to Woodmans for most of my groceries but their produce section here is TOP SHELF! Inexpensive, and cheap and always always always Fresh. Their meat dept is good, but relies heavily on the hispanic clients, which makes sense because this is a Hispanic grocery store. Also awesome is you can find a bunch of mexican products (soda in bottles, munchies, candies) here that you cant get at jewel, Aldi, or Woodmans. Highly recommended on their Fruit and Produce products alone. read more

Cermak is 100% a great stop for meat and fresh produce, most other items are priced about like any other store. Typically, this is my spot for fruits and veggies... and I don't know of any store in Aurora that can top them concerning that. read more

I used to be a loyal Cermak customer but as of today, I will not be shopping there anymore. Cashier didn't say hi. I came home to find that my meat I had purchased was never given to me. I went back to the store to pick it up and they said "I had left my meat there". Management is horrible and tried to blame me for leaving my groceries that I had clearly paid for. On my receipt, it clearly shows that the meat I had purchased were one of the first items scanned, how could it not have been given to me? Who wants to go shopping, drive home with missing groceries and have to drive back to pick them up? Waste of gas. read more
