I had an online order scheduled for 8pm-9pm on 8/12/25. I placed my order in the morning so it would be ready by the evening. I received a notice that my order was ready for pick up by 3pm. I gave the app a heads up notice that I was on my way at 8pm, 20 minutes in advance of me arriving. I arrive and enter my spot number I sat in my car for 10 minutes no one ever showed up. I called the number that is on the online order pick up sign and no one ever answered. I had to go inside and ask about my order and no one was able to help me or locate my order. I'm not sure what I just paid for.....my order is no where to be found. I left with a charge on my card and empty handed. Extremely poor service at this location. I would not recommend doing an online order here, they are extremely unorganized and clueless here. Who ever is in charge of this store is not doing a good job. If you have no one doing online orders you should have a sign up outside, not just have people waiting outside in their car wasting their time. read more

Jewel has good sale on groceries, but regular prices are high. I always have to double check my receipt when I come here because often times I find higher charges on the receipt than the advertised price. They recently got a new register software, so maybe it'll help with this problem. This is a very convenient nearby grocery store for me, however, I have gone home numerous times with expired food items and had to return them (which removes the convenience). I don't understand how it isn't part of the daily shelf fixing/checking of employees to check and remove expired items. I have had expired cold items and pantry items and it just isn't acceptable. The produce is also lacking in freshness so really I just come here for frozen or 1 off things that I need in a rush and I always check the expiration on anything there before I put in my basket. read more

I generally order delivery from Mariano's but decided to give Jewel a shot. I don't know who their shoppers are, but they leave something to be desired. I mean, it's not rocket science. In my notes for the bananas I ordered, I specifically said no bruises or brown spots, please, and what did I get? Brown bananas with bruises. I also ordered a half gallon of skim milk and a full gallon of 2% milk. I got a half gallon of 2% and a gallon of skim. I mean, how hard is this??? So frustrating. This should be an easy process ... that's why people want to order delivery. But you have to be able to trust the shoppers or it's all for nothing. Never again. This store has really gone downhill in the past couple of years. I just returned from there and notice mold on the hotdog buns I purchased. Expiration was 4 days ago, shame no me for not checking the date. The last time another item was expired, again, my bad for not noticing before I left. Their produce can be crap too. I've had old, rotted eggplant, the last time I needed a green pepper they had about dozen on the shelf and everyone of them was wrinkled and way past their prime. Same for some Jalapenos I needed. Jewel in this place is not the best grocery store for me but on my recent visit on the store it was clean and organized. There were only a few people that are inside. Few products are not on stock and some only have a few stocks. There are a lot of fresh fruits and veggies on their produce section as well as on their organic section. I saw those balloons hanging inside and I think it would be the best for those parents who have kids and the kids will surely be happy with those. Prices are fair and reasonable on most of the products and I think it is pretty good, I bought a lot and that wasn't what I expected to be but it is great knowing that they have a lot of good stuff inside. The absolutely best thing about this Jewel is that I can get to it without having to cross Route 59. If you don't live in Naperville, or around Naperville, you probably don't understand. But Route 59 is this god awful street with so much traffic that at 3 in the morning, I can look out my apartment window (which, yes, does face Route 59), and see traffic. And drunk people getting pulled over by cops. That's always fun. I also have never seen a nice car pulled over in Naperville, which is a fun fact to pull out at parties. But, that's not the point. The point is that I can go West on North Aurora Rd and get to the Jewel faster than if I attempt to cross Route 59 to get to the closer Dominick's. So, I usually go to Jewel. This Jewel has self service check out stations, a fairly nice produce and meat section, flowers, and a large liquor selection. But, as the previous review noted, its DARK in this store. As in, sometimes I wonder if the store is even open, its so dark. I wonder if new breeds of people without eyes are going to turn up in the corners, it is so dark. The cashiers are mostly under 21 and friendly. They always card me though. I know I look 12 on a good day, but for the love of god, I didn't just buy 100 dollars worth of groceries just to sneak the 5.99 bottle of wine past you all. I promise. I usually go to this Jewel late at night, when the Ogden location is closed. Guess I've gotten used to the great customer service at the Ogden store, though, because the lack of help at this store really bothered me when I did go in the afternoon. No one was outright rude or anything, but they just weren't helpful. I was using the electric cart, which was full of groceries. No employees (and I passed a few) acknowledged I was even there, let alone ask if I needed help finding anything - which is odd for retail customer service, in general. And my cashier didn't ask if I needed help out to my car, and I could've used the help. But they do have a gas station here. And it is open late. read more

Horrible store!!! They won't honor THEIR mistake! They had 2 12-packs of Lipton Brisk tea on their shelves. The sale sign said 2/$4.00. I grabbed both and went to checkout. After reviewing my receipt, I discovered they were not on sale. I went back to the shelf to take a picture to show it to the people at the service counter. The picture clearly show other 12-packs by it, but she said the sale tag says it's for 2 liter bottles only. I said that's very deceiving advertising. Even the manager Todd said he wouldn't honor their mistake. He said because anyone could move something to the open spot and say it should be on sale. This location is obviously older. You can tell by the layout of the store. They are doing some renovations in the produce section, so that helps the looks. Otherwise, this Jewel is good for an easy stop to the grocery store, at off hours of course. Personally, I'd rather hit up Mariano's for anything produce or meat related, but this place is decent for the boxed goods and a quick bakery stop. You'll probably get slightly lost like myself when you're trying to find something specific, but like I said, pretty decent stop when you need something quick. read more

I'm a Jewel fan (insert scorn here), but there's one thing I'm certainly not a fan of: the Jewel meat/seafood counter. I can't think of an occasion in which I've visited the counter with someone actually there and waiting for me. Nor have visited and waited for less than 30 seconds for someone to appear. I'm using waiting for at least two minutes before someone appears - and odds are, I know more than them if I have a question. With this location in particular, I end up bagging a lot of my own groceries, as well. They are always short staffed! Been going to this Jewel since it opened. The cashiers are extremely friendly, but the check out lines are always much longer than Mariano's nearby, and half the time I have to bag my own groceries. I recently switched over to shopping at Mariano's and now I remember why! This store has terrible customer service. I came in to quickly buy 2 items, and asked the Store Director, Pete Joy, if I could skip the long check out lines to buy my items at the customer service desk. Another customer was already doing this. He gave me a cold stare and said "check out line is over there," clearly not answering my question. When I asked him why I couldn't check out where the other customer had clearly rung up her items, he gave me another blank stare and repeated his previous statement. She asked the employee Melissa if they had any in the back and they did not. Melissa was so kind and made her a fresh cake and decorated it too!!!! It's a grocery store.....However, every Monday they have a fried chicken deal. Have been there two Monday's in a row, at dinner time, and they are out of chicken. Dropping more. Lady tells us she dropped more and has @9 mins left. Ok, we will go pick up some other items and swing back. Return to pick up chicken and find that said lady dropped only 24 pieces and that is gone. Slow guy working on dropping more. Should be ready in another 20 mins or so. No thanks! I will buy the more expensive rotisserie chicken. Deli team at this store is AWFUL. This used to be a pretty good Jewel, but they've recently got rid of their self-checks, which is just adding insult to injury coupled with Jewel's high prices. The result is long lines (it takes triple the time to check out now), incessant requests on the ear-blasting intercom for a liquor checker, and lots and lots of people complaining (even the cashiers) about the removed self-checks. Enough is enough. All of us are going to take our business elsewhere where they do have self-checks. read more

The Aurora Chapter of DBSA orders fried chicken for their summer picnic every year. This year I picked up.the chicken and it was. wonderful. The service is always excellent and today, when a long line formed in the express lanes, the managers reacted quickly to get extra help and handled all the checkouts I could see in a quick, efficient and courteous manner.
