Cermak is where we go if we have to get any Mexican or Latin spices or groceries. It has a great selection of produce that looks meticulously organized! They have a great variety of Latin foods and products and some Asian as well. The prices are generally good, but some things are more expensive than at Metro Market or Pick n save. The service behind the counter is great and the isles are kept clean and organized! Recommend going if you need some Latin goods. read more

Store looks amazing, but prepared foods weren't so good. My coworker and I went here to grab some lunch the other day. I had only ever been here one other time and was impressed by the beautiful and bountiful produce department (only topped by Outpost Natural Foods) and other impressive displays in the store. My coworker got a burrito and I got some stuff off the salad bar. The salad bar looked clean and fresh, but when I got back to the office I realized the caprese salad was old - the tomatoes were rotten and even the fresh mozz was crusty and hard. That salad had to be way out of date to have crusty mozz. Very disappointing. Again, prepared foods could be better, but the store looked incredible. read more

They have three different soups to choose from with a 32 oz container only costing 5$ and the burritos are the best here weighing over 2 lbs and getting whatever toppings you want. Cermak is definitely a fine grocery store in a convenient location. They are usually well stocked and the have an awesome produce selection! Occasionally I will see a crazy price here or there or they'll be missing an item but they definitely get the job done and have a pretty good selection. I usually just go here when I need good produce or something quick and it's perfect for that! I probably wouldn't make it my main grocery store just because prices aren't always the best and the staff usually seems annoyed that you're there and doesn't talk to you when you check out. read more

Cermak is my neighborhood grocery and although it serves the Hispanic community, Cermak is a market for all of us, carrying top notch goods at excellent prices. The Mexican specialty items add a certain panache, making the shopping experience more fun. Fresh tamales anyone? Having Carlos Santana playing on the loudspeaker was a bit much, but I can tolerate the ethnic marketing to have such an excellent grocery in the neighborhood. Total convenience Before this location opened I used to live a few blocks away and always found myself going to El Rey or the Cermak by the stadium so this is definitely a great addition to the neighborhood that fills a void left by other large grocers that stick to the burbs. I now stop in a few times a month to grab snacks and lunch items for the work week. They have a huge selection of fruits and vegetables, and I like the offerings in the dairy department as well. This is our main grocery store. We love Hispanic food and this caters the the Hispanic community with lots of freshly made goods and all the ingredients we need. The fresh produce is good quality and in large supply. My favorite Pozole recipe is possible because of Cermak, would not be able to do it shopping at Target. The prices are always super cheap for the fresh produce and goods. There are great sales (like 20 limes for $1) on most of the fresh produce. I especially love their salsa selection, I always grab one and their homemade chips when I go. All the commercial stuff you can find anywhere is still expensive though. There are also some random ingredients that are sometimes not there (like shallots, basil, fresh thyme) which is odd and kind of a let down. Overall, it does the job and bill versus what you get for it is way better than other grocery stores I've shopped at. read more

I drive past this location everyday on the way home from work yet I hadn't managed to stop in here and always default to the miller park location. Well, today was the day and I was not disappointed! Similar to the other Cermak, the produce selection is great and everything was fresh. Having stopped into the miller park location the night before, it was interesting to see different (unadvertised) specials were found here but I was happy to take advantage of them! I typically only buy items on sale so for me Cermak is very affordable. I receive the Cermak email weekly so I can take a look at the specials before I get there. The building itself is more open and well lit so it was exciting to be in the new space. From produce to meats to bakery to deli to... gelato?? Seeing the gelato station was an unexpected find but we were thrilled to see we could stop here for gelato as well! There is also a nice seating area at the front of the store to pause and enjoy the moment at the end of your shopping excursion- perhaps with a cup of gelato. read more

Happy as hell to have a grocery store in Walkers Point! If you were a resident here you'd understand that! I fishery shopped at Cermak when I lived in Chicago and I, for one, and happy to see the chain opening more locations in WI. They have the best produce around. A little secret, fresh fries chicharrones!!! So good when they're fresh, I won't touch the stuff in a prepackaged bag. Fresh unique vegetables, tumeric the actual root is excellent to add you your juice mix if you do any juicing, this is a juicing dream! Lol Great selection on cheese, too, or for selections for making a party platter. It's still not good for full on larger scale shopping as it can get pricey for some dry goods, but it's a nice option to have! I live in this 'hood and couldn't wait for it to open! read more

I've been a fan of Cermak for years when I lived in Chicago (shout out to Humboldt Park Cermak on North Avenue- wut!). I love their huge selection of produce, and I can get greens and everything I need here for my #MeatlessMondays and the epazote I need for Rick Bayless's tortilla soup recipe. I like that this location has a nice selection of craft beer and wines to suit the neighborhood on the rise, but this place is not Sendik's or Whole Foods, which I think has some people reviewing it poorly (*shrugs*). read more

I've loved Cermak since it opened on Miller Rd. This new location is just as awesome. Both locations are clean, spacious, well lighted and stocked with fresh produce, which is what I come to get mainly. Their weekly sales are the same (thought for a while, I felt like things were still cheaper at the original location. I don't think it is anymore - maybe just the newness of the location made it feel more like it.) And those weekly sales are pretty awesome. I can usually fill up my cart with fresh veggies and fruits and pay under $20 at the door. I also get meat here. They're fresh and rotate sales that are awesome deals. There is also an olive bar, hot foods, tacos, gyros and cheese. I probably don't know half of the stuff in here since I seem to just always go for what I always go for... Now, there was one thing that was kinda irritating the other day. For yelp, I've taken load of pictures here... and then I brought a friend from out of town. He was really tickled to see such a large, fresh market, and was taking a picture of the produce line, but then a guy working there came over and told him no pictures. That was so weird. I've taken tons of pictures and no one has ever said anything. Plus, what's wrong with taking pictures? Especially when everything is going good? I have been wanting to check this place out ever since they opened, even drove past it many times and today was the day that I would stop by. I was starting to like this place because it's nicer than the Miller Park store and it has the same great produce and deli sections. I asked if they also have the fresh made tortillas and I was pointed to them, NOT because they were 9 days old and not fresh at all. As I'm wondering the store thinking that this store is not super packed like the MP location and thinking that this is my Cermak now and some guy is following me saying sir and I'm ignoring him until he stops me and says that I can't any pictures of the inside of the store, it's a public store right. He says the owner doesn't allow picture taking inside the store because of the competition, WTF does that even mean because I can look all I want and steal any idea if I was the competition. I said ok and I walked right to the register and paid for what I had and left, I had more shopping to do and they only got $14 out of me, Fu#k that store and I'm not spending any more money here and I will not back again. read more

They also have a really nice produce section with many fruits and veggies that are hard to find in other stores. I came by based on a recommendation from a friend. If I lived closer I would probably shop here more. I live by myself and don't cook much or I would DEFINITELY come here more, particularly for produce, fresh herbs, hard-to-find ethnic ingredients, and from the looks of it, meat. So, my visit today was primarily a reconnaissance mission. I wanted to see if Cermak lived up to its reputation. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the fresh smell of all the produce. The produce section is huge and very diversely stocked. I don't know of another grocery store in Milwaukee that carries multiple types of persimmons (full disclosure: I know persimmons primarily from my childhood as the overripe ones that fell from trees and rotted on the ground. I really do not know what to do with them as a food item. But I know they're having a moment right now). The fresh herb selection was likewise impressive. If I ever need fresh curry leaves I'll know where to shop. Aside from that they're kind of like a cross between Aldi and Whole Foods, with a dash of neighborhood ethnic market. They seem to know their meat as well as their vegetables. I saw beef tripe for sale, in addition to a variety of non-offal meats and seafood. Their deli and prepared items look promising as well. My friend says their sushi is really good. I didn't sample, but I will say that it's pretty reasonably priced. They have pozole and caldo de res in the hot section, which may be worthy of a look. I'm going to have to come back and try a few things. All I bought on this trip was an alkaline water because that seemed like a good idea. It's right on the 15 and Green line bus routes also, if that's a factor for anyone. read more

Everyone seems to be comparing it to Miller Parkway, never been so I have no idea, but in comparison to other stores around me there's an equal amount of things I like/dislike. First of all the place is basically a brand new building so still shiny and sleek looking. -Their produce is really nicely organized...the guy in charge is doing his part here! -The sushi looked great and they have varieties I can't find at other places(Metro Market or Sendik's) -Sushi is BOGO free EVERY SINGLE DAY...after 7pm though -The cashier held up my head of romaine lettuce with a questioning look and proceeded to ring it up as broccoli before I could respond(definitely wasn't taking any chances when we got to the jicama, told her what it was before she could reach for it) -Cashiers have to call for someone to come over and void item if they ring it up by mistake..such as romaine -Got some unapproving looks from the staff when I tried to snap some pictures for this review...seriously? I had a basket full of crap, it's not like I wasn't shopping -My staple food items seemed to be anywhere from .05 to $1 more an item...depending on what it was, but nothing was cheaper ....and last of all am I crazy or are the aisles in there like SUPER narrow? If you have personal space issues I would steer clear of this place on the weekends. Even on a Tuesday evening it was tiresome and uncomfortable if someone was trying to go down the same aisle as us. OMG, I wish I lived closer to this Cermak Fresh Market! They live up to the "fresh" in their name when it comes up to produce, as the selection is excellent (although they could use a few more selections in cherry and grape tomatoes), and the prices are excellent, too! The meat is a little iffy: make your choices with care. My sister likes the pork chop suey, as it's cut up into very small pieces, instead of in large chunks that are more like stew meat the way most meat departments offer it. Chicken can be a nice buy, too. They have a great selection of international products, which I love. The herb and spice selection is incredible and I usually end up buying some new blend to try. The only negative I can think of is that some of the prices can be high. Look for the sale items. Also, the produce is almost always a great buy. read more

This place is GROSS!! Not only are the people rude, the managers do not care at all about customer perceptions. They are WAY over priced especially with El Rey a few blocks away. Went to deli got 2 GROSS carnitas tacos, tortillas were rubbery, neat was unseasoned, old and COLD. Taco Bell has better tacos then this place - I only come here for the Sosofrito but I wont be coming again. i called to speak with a manager who just didnt care. The health dept will be called on the disgusting meat in the deli that was WAY below temp and totally mishandled by the deli guy. Over priced everything and below par in standards both in service and quality of goods. The produce guys are the only ones in this store who give quality service. A big plus of this store is that they have a dedicated vegan section. Also, their pastries are awesome, especially the conchas, but it's kind of hit or miss when you are going to find them fresh. If you are missing the Export Soda crackers you used to enjoy with abuelita, as well as many other Latin American goodies, this is a good place to find such items. It is a bit odd that they don't carry pet food and supplies, something most supermarkets have. That's a drawback as there are not that many other grocery stories right nearby. Prices are decent and the location is a hop away from the Green Line. read more

The selection of produce at Cermak is simply incredible. Not only the selection immense but the prices are incredibly reasonable. I would shop there just for the produce. What they stock in the store is unique with many off brands or "aldi-esque" products. Nothing wrong with that but just a heads up that they definitely don't carry the same selection as other full service grocery stores. This grocery store has the best produce department with the best prices in Milwaukee. The store is very clean and the selection is great. There are a lot of fresh food options and various novelty areas for cheese, meats, tacos, and gelato. Some of the staples located in the aisles are priced slightly higher than other stores in the area, but the savings on fruit, veggies, and meat cover the price difference and more. On a recent visit, literally every refrigerated item I picked up was expired. Came home to find both containers of fresh pico I bought were open and leaked in the bag. Store made tortilla chips aren't sealed. This store is poorly managed and needs a total turnover of staff and procedures. Walkers Point deserves better. read more

I've slowly been converted from a Metro Market shopper to a Cermak shopper. The produce section is far and away superior in both quantity and quality. Also, the prices really can't be beaten. I end up buying several meals worth of food at a time from their fresh meat sections. They do need to improve their "rewards" app as it barely functions, but I do get to easily look up their weekly specials, which are really good. Be aware, they only sell beer and wine here, so if you want something more than those, you will need to make another stop. read more

Very nice clean supermarket with high quality produce, and a much better selection of higher end groceries than any place near by, a very welcome new addition to the neighborhood. They have strategically balanced the sorts of food the Anglo-American upper middle class customer base of Bayview and the Third Ward might be interested in with a very good selection of Mexican-American needs. I do appreciate the sensitivity to our unique communities within this area. Maybe because it's new, this is the cleanest supermarket around, and I mention this because if clean is important to you, well this place is. Prices are appropriate for the high end stuff, a little high for the cheaper stuff - well only some of the cheaper stuff is overpriced. You really just have to know what groceries cost when you're shopping at any supermarket nowadays, the only way to save in the end is to shop at more than one place. Ample parking, and there's a place you can sit down and eat some of the nice hot prepared meals they sell. read more

When this opened a month or so ago, I knew I wanted to try this new store because of the good things I heard about their Miller park location, but had never been to before. Everything in this store is SPOTLESS you could eat off the floor. The produce was bountiful and very fresh. Being on the south side of the city it had a lot of produce and other items that are standard in Latino cooking which was nice, but it still had all of the standard stuff. This will gladly be my new grocery store. They have a gelato stand, wide wine and beer selection, some hot and ready foods, and boar's head meats. This was also significantly cheaper and better quality than the other grocery stores I've been to in Milwaukee. It cut $25-$40 off my normal grocery bill and I had MORE stuff. Staff was super friendly and there was ample parking. I will be back! Just wish they carried some toiletry items so I didn't have to make a second stop to a drug store (toothpaste, contact solution, razors). read more

Catering to a diverse local group any Asian or Latin food group you could desire just may be here. Cermak is truly the affordable "Whole Foods"! I love the bakery (churros) and hot bar (barria and Puerto Rican rice) are worth the trip alone. The produce section is unreal, featuring unique items like aloe and cactus. The prices are very affordable. Some of the best quality meat for the price in the city.
