I needed an alignment and possibly have my brakes checked. I made an appointment with these guys on Monday and they were able to get me in the next morning. Within 3 hours, they called me and said my truck was done. It turned out that I didn't need my brakes changed and my alignment was off a little bit. The guy (owner) seemed like a nice honest guy. He doesn't only do brakes and alignments. He also does auto repair work. Apparently that business has been there for a long time. His business is located at the side of the building. Well, I decided to give this business a try because of all the 5 Star Reviews. I am giving them two stars because they squeezed me in for brakes. I let them have my vehicle all day so they would have plenty of time to check the brakes and take care of any issues. It was a simple fix once the tires were off and it does not take much time to do that. I was told they closed at 5pm but would stay open later if needed to finish up jobs. Since I did not get a call, I figured it best to get there before 5pm, exactly 4:45pm. The car was on the rack, wheels off but no work done. The guys working there were fooling around and visiting and laughing and using some not so nice words in their native language. I went into the office but no one came in. I went into the shop and they were shocked to see me. I told them I was there to pick up my vehicle. They said the boss was out and it was not done. I asked when would it be done and they told me half and hour. We were very hungry and now had to go out to eat and get back in exactly one half hour so they would not be left waiting. We were stuck with the fast food joints close by that was it. We got back at that time and it was still inside but wheels were on. They told me it would be a few mins to get it out as a van was behind it and we had to wait for the boss who was working on a vehicle. We went into the office, he came in 10 mins but took another 10 to process our credit card and get us an invoice. I think it was something computer input related. So now another 20 mins gone and we are tired. I don't think I will go here again because I don't like wasting time. We live 30 mins from here and killed time around town expecting to be called all day but after going there just before 5pm it was still not ready. Our time is valuable too. And I don't appreciate being charged $45 to rotate the tire that were already off. All they do is put them on a different location when they load them up. Plus I was not told about the extra charge when I was on the phone and asked them to turn the rotors. Wheels were off to check the brakes anyway. Okay, I would have paid a small charge but I get them done free at Costco or Sam's Club. There is a better way to do business and being a business owner all my adult life, I know the right way. read more

Overcharged, shotty work, wrong diagnosis. Went in for Pads and rotors, after they finish the job he tells me that only the back brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. The front brakes had a good 75% life left on them. Now, one month later my front brakes are grinding into my rotors. The inner pad fell off spilling out all brake fluid and brakes were non-existent. I called them based off of reviews and they were able to get me in that day. The guy that answered was very nice and seemed very trustworthy. I took my car in to have the front brakes replaced and also asked them to install my front passenger fender liner that I bought clips for. They did the brakes within a few hours for a very affordable price and installed my liner for free. They even added a bunch of extra clips underneath my car that had broken off. I recently had Certified replace my 2012 Toyota Sienna front struts. Something felt odd when I left but I thought they just needed to break in. Meanwhile up on the Oregon coast the steering started binding up In a strange way. I went to a Les Schwab store in Coos Bay and they discovered Certified had put the wrong year struts on and there were also loose bolts they hadn't tightened. This could have been a very dangerous situation. I called back to Certified and informed Coleman of the situation and asked to be compensated somehow. He said he would get back to me but never did, just completely ignored my issue. This is no way to run a business. I had to buy new struts (after spending $1100 the first time) and had to have the entire front end inspected and torqued properly along with another alignment. If you care about your families safety avoid this dishonest repair facility and spend your money elsewhere. read more

Brought my 2015 Acura MDX to Certified to have my front struts checked. Mason check the car out and determined that the struts were in need of replacement. I scheduled an appointment for a few days later and dropped the automobile off first thing the morning. Mason indicated that it would take him approximately 3.5 to 4.0 hours to accomplish the replacement. He called me to pick up the car about 3.5 hours later. The entire process of dealing with Certified was seamless and efficient due to the skill and professionalism that Mason displayed. The price for the replacement was very reasonable when compared to other Reno brake and alignment shops and I chose Certified based on the companies rating and I am delighted with this decision. Although it says brake and alignment, they have the vast knowledge to pretty much fix anything within their power that is automotive. My automatic window on my Dodge caliber was broken and would not roll back up. Jim got me in right away. My family has always gone to Jim for car repair and check ins through the years. He's honest about what your car needs and gives good estimations about how many miles you have left on things. I've always taken my car in to him before long road trips to get a general safety checkup, fluids, brakes, etc. They work with your schedule so you can leave your car there and pick it up at your leisure, or you can plan with them to have it done within an afternoon. I'm not sure if the base services are cheaper than elsewhere, though I think they are, the work itself is definitely not cheap and it's incredibly honest. read more

I was referred to speak with Alferado at 775-338-0102. I had been trying to have him do some front end work on my 89 suburban. We were communicating via text since April 11 2020. He quoted me a price of $450 for labor only. It took me some time to set up an appointment, I was waiting on my oversized truck tires. I texted him several times on what I wanted done. During our text conversations, he was advised of the changes I wanted. We scheduled a date for July 4 2020, which I thought was odd as it was a holiday. Well on the day scheduled, he realized it was a holiday. He had to re-schedule for the following Saturday. So on the following weekend, I went to the shop. He advised me that he was not going to be able to do my suburban as scheduled. So we re-re- scheduled for the following weekend. I went over all the work I wanted, since he had a problem being on the right page. I'm original quote went from $450 to $1000!!! I saved all my texts for proof. He wouldn't honor his quote. I can't tell you how many times I was told by some other repair service (usually dealerships) that I needed brakes and since I only use Jim, I'd decline and take the vehicle to him - only to learn everything was fine. I recently had my Dodge Pickup in a shop for an oil leak. They tried to scare me into believing that it was unsafe to drive due to bad ball joints, steering stablizer and shocks. I have never been so impressed with an automotive shop. These guys not only repaired my brakes at a reasonable price, but they also replaced a couple of blown bulbs free of charge. Brian even took the time to show me the trick on how to remove the cover for the headlight so that I could replace the bulbs myself in the future.
