Graham the original owner for almost 40 years was amazing and had great customer service along with amazing mechanic skills. Tom has worked side by side with Graham for years. I have gone to Auto Shop only a few times over the years, as my Ford hasn't needed much repair. I have my oil changes regularly at a tire shop I've gone to for over 30 years. Since I needed a couple small things done, I had Auto Shop do my oil service recently. They charged me around $150. for an oil change & filter! $70+ to look at & refer me for an expensive diagnostic test elsewhere for an occasional glitch in a latch. Cabin air filter is a minimal change. Bill was over $300. Never again! read more

Diane, who answered the phone is very friendly and professional. Making an appointment was easy; dropped off my vehicle for electrical work the night before, and it was done the next day by the end of business day. When Tom called me with the estimate, I was shocked. It was at least $200 LESS than I expected for a a complex electrical problem. He was very thorough with checking out my vehicle and was incredibly kind to me; gave me a great breakdown of all parts needed and everything that was repaired. Rick and the team over at The Auto Shop are outstanding. This is one of the most trustworthy and reasonably priced auto repair shops in Reno/Sparks. I take both of my vehicles here. They'll diagnose your car right the first time and they'll be up front with you. They won't try and repair something that doesn't need to be repair just to make a quick buck on you. The'll give helpful tips if something is in need of repair a little down the road which is really nice. You want to know the best reason for going to The Auto Shop? They treat women with respect and they're 100% honest to them. Too many shops try and make some extra money on women because they're stereotyped as not knowing anything about cars. I called around 3 o'clock on a Monday to see if The Auto Shop would be willing to take a look at a side project of mine. (A fuel pump I was replacing wouldn't sit neatly in the fuel tank.) Tom (the owner) told me to bring it on over. I arrived around 3:45, and they immediately sent out one of their mechanics (Walt). He dropped the job he was working on, worked with me personally for 30 minutes, and was able to diagnose and fix the problem. Affordably priced, extremely knowledgeable, and over-the-top service. They are good for most all repairs. They did a pretty job until they didn't. Took apart the dash to repair the vent system for about $900. The system was never quite same though. We get cold outside air in the winter and exhaust smell inside. They were never able to repair the original problem and wanted another $900 to get in there if they determined it wasn't their fault. Didn't like that agreement. The dealer might charge additional labor cost? If so I am now willing to pay that. read more

The auto shop is a great place to bring your vehicle when it needs service no job is too small for them and if they can not do it they will recommend another shop to do the job (i.e. major transmission work) Rick is great he will talk to you one on one and explain the problem and what they will do to fix the problem.
