Without my AC unit working - I needed a prompt repair (NOT an emergency repair) for tenants renting my condo. I didn't expect a charge of almost $600.00 on a name brand 4 year old unit. I feel I was taken advantage of! They were polite and responsive and got my ac working. However - based on trusted information from another out of town HVAC repair person who was in my condo the week prior to my AC going down, it seems clear to me that I was overcharged and taken advantage of! I was never told payment would need to be made remotely while I was in California. I told the repair guy I would mail a check upon an emailed receipt when I returned home. The problem was a bad capacitor. I was overcharged for the part,... then charged an additional $280.00 to add refrigerant that the technician "questionably" claimed I needed. I have since mailed the a check for full payment, along with their business card that I not need in the future.

One time "John" answered and I told him I was interested in an HVAC maintenance and service contract. He rattled off some numbers and promised to email them to me that night. Never got anything. I then called that number over and over, leaving messages that again were never returned. Finally, a woman answered and explained that she was in a front office and could give me no info (??) about service contracts, but she said if I called 800-921-0392 an answering service would take a message and forward to someone who would call back. She also promised me that John would send me the promised info that day. Not. So I called the 800 number and left a message for someone to please call me. Nothing. I give up. Too many other HVAC companies that care. I wonder how if they respond to customers needing emergency service.

They asked if I still required service and when I said "Yes", indicated they had a technician available and said he could be there shortly. Sky was very personable and verified what I had done and checked the inside unit and breakers first. Then, he went outside and checked the external unit. He replaced a blown capacitor and I have A/C. From the time I was contacted to the time I got cold air blowing was less than an hour. The charge was very reasonable. I like it when a technician doesn't assume anything. It gives me a 'warm fuzzy' when someone 'trusts but verifies'. Thoroughness is a great quality in any job. Since we no longer rent our unit, our rental agent no longer handles routine maintenance, so Sky took my information for a service contract. The amount he quoted was also very reasonable. He gave me some hints to keep the unit in peak condition as well. During the service call, he received a call apparently from another technician. During that call, he was polite and attempted to talk the other person through some maintenance process. Just a very helpful guy. I will definitely use this company again.
