Wouldn't recommend office staff is horrible, doesn't give any warm welcome or greeting. Very slacking for a middle SCHOOL.

This place needs a better front office staff, not welcoming at all, not helpful at all, and truthfully not the kinda energy we should be subjecting our kids to. You walk in and the whole place just feels cold, with no warm-welcomes or smiles. They have bad attitudes with short negative responses. Literally no help whatsoever, and can't even do their job to HELP parents. Especially the very front office lady. Didn't get her name but she is Latin with dark hair. When I walked in she was already helping another person and it looked okay, they were laughing and smiling, the parent left looking very happy, however as soon as she had to handle me, her attitude changed, we did not exchange laughs or smiles, she didn't even explain to me why I couldn't drop something off for my student, she just pointed to a sign and said "that's our company policy if you want to read it, other than that there's nothing I can do for you" Extremely disappointing, and I hope our children and students don't have to deal with these kind of things from what are supposed to be full grown mature adults. Can't imagine how they treat the students when this is how they treat the parents. read more

So far, it's almost the end of the first quarter of the school year. I am having mixed feelings about this school that my youngest son goes to, not like my other daughters who came from Alvarado Middle school in the same district. There are only two middle schools in Union City. The staff are pretty friendly but are unorganized with how things function for events. There are a few teachers that are pretty good that I really like. I experienced their kind of organization during the sixth grade orientation. They were so unorganized that we were there for about 6 hours!! It was not a quick orientation and the parents and kids were everywhere. They kept apologizing. There are 1400 kids that attend this school so they need to be better at! The campus looks pretty updated and has a baseball, track, basketball area and a gym. The only entrance to the school is on the side when school opens and they only open 15-20 minutes before the bell. The kids are not allowed to enter through the office. I guess they don't have staff to monitor the kids who is at the school but very inconvenient if your child needs to go early to go to the office or need to speak to the teacher before hand or even hang out to study before a test. It's hard for me not to compare to Alvarado Middle as I had three of my girls attend there and I really liked that school. I just don't get there system. They have an IEP program which my son goes to and the staff have been very accommodating with my needs for my son. I am still doubtful about their education for IEP students and if it's helping my son but I will update at the end of the year if things get better and my son shows improvement with these teachers. The roads going to the school are always crowded before school and after. You really have to come early to find parking and wait for your child. There is really not much staff to monitor outside the areas since the beginning of the school year. So far, its an ok school. It has not met my standards yet. read more

The school needs, someone that can have the flow of traffic happen. Guide parents on where to go and etc. since the parents park at the middle of the road to stop traffic.. also double parking, but get a way out what so ever (at the bus stop area specifically )..but forsure they need someone at all the cross walks, in the morning and after school. As far as middle schools go in Union City, I guess this one is slightly better than the rest. The school actually appears decent on both the outside and inside. Parking lot is small, though. They should increase the number of spaces to reduce the number of visitors who need to park on the street. Like all public schools, teacher quality here is a mix. Some are good, some are bad. It all depends on luck and who your child gets assigned to for single subjects. My husband completed his student teaching here and had a nightmarish experience with his mentor teacher (teaches history). While he loved the students and the school culture, he could not stand his mentor teacher because of her meanness and lack of support throughout his student teaching. read more

I am not a parent at this school, but I am a neighbor that lives in the condo community next to the school. I must say within the last 5-7 years the lack of attention from the school administrators has gone down significantly. Some of the students that attend this school are rude and disrespectful. They trespass on our property daily, trampling over our landscaped areas, leaving trash of snack bags and drink bottles everywhere, sitting on residents vehicles, cursing at residents when asked to stop or move, blocking residents vehicles as they try to leave or enter the property. Some of students have even stolen residents property from their patios. The former principal before the last two used to walk out every day to ensure students were respecting our property and waiting for the public bus at the bus stop on the sidewalk and not on our private property. Now I get children are a reflection of their parents which bring me to the other problem. Parents blocking residents garages to wait for their kids. When residents approach them to advise them its a fire lane and no parking, some parents try to ignore them or say they aren't parked...ok so wtf would you call it then? And never mind trying to turn out of the complex when parents are coming and going...NO one ever lets a resident pull out. So it is nearly impossible for any of us to exit the complex during morning pickup and afternoon drop off. Now I know you're probably wondering why we haven't called the cops...well surprise we have. We are told to call them when it is happening (kids loitering on the property). By the time one is done relaying all of the info to the dispatcher, the kids are since long gone on their bus. We have reported these incidents to the school several times with photos and videos. Also, told to call Principal when its happening. Well, by the time he makes it out here they're all gone. Its a never ending vicious cycle. Why don't we hire security? Why should we spend the money to keep someone else's kids under control? Parents should be teaching their kids to be respectful to other people and their property. I've also noticed this school's rating is the lowest of all the schools in the district and it sure shows in more ways than one. It is sad as it was once a great school, but like I said in the past 5-7 years it has changed quite drastically and not in a good way. Hope they can find the right staff soon that can manage this school. read more

This is a very clean school secretaries are very helpful the counselors are very helpful the principle is very nice the school has a good variety of different subjects to study there's a really huge library and science wing the music department the cafeteria and a gymnasium is very nice. Was I the only one who thought this school was amazingly created? Lol I remember going to school here and loving how secluded and hidden the library was. Not to mention how the hallway where you see the semi little forest lol. Best middle school I went to better than Barnard White. I loved the snack stand that was by the D wing(?) always had to get my fries and pizza with a soda for lunch lol. read more

I really really like this school because the teachers are nice and the school is pretty big. I have been in CCMA for two years and this year I'm almost in a third year and that means it's my last year in CCMS. read more
