Rolling out the carpet for their debut at Night Owl Market, C'est Cheese is one of the newest food trucks to hit Cincinnati streets. The theme: you guessed it; everything is made of cheesy goodness. Owner Emily Frank returned to her hometown after living in Chicago to pursue per passion of cooking. C'est Cheese premiered its line of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and flavored pickles. I was customer #2 to give their truck a try, and I must say, it was delight at first bite. I ordered The Bee Sting: mozzarella, pepperoni, basil, honey, and chili butter on Tuscan Pane. I also went for a side of homemade Indian Curry Pickles. Six thick slices of cucumbers marinate (and pickle) in Emily's own special sauce. She has three flavor varieties to choose from. I was enthralled with the mix of flavors in my meal, and was glad I made the decision to eat here first during Night Owl Market. The sandwich was gooey and flavorful; each ingredient could be tasted, the bread was lightly toasted, and it was not the least bit greasy. This may be the first time I say I felt healthy eating a grilled cheese. Emily and her staff are cheerful and friendly; I look forward to seeing them flourish in the city. As their motto goes: "There's nothing a grilled cheese & flat iron can't fix." Price per person: $8.50

I have been trying to catch up with C'est Cheese since last year....and I finally got to try it tonight over at Madtree Brewing. What goes better with great beer than great cheese....and grilled cheese is definitely great cheese. I tried their new sandwich the Nacho Mamma. The Nacho Mamma has LOTS of cheddar cheese, jalapeno peppers, black beans, sour cream, chives, salsa, and corn chips for some crunch. This sandwich was definitely worth the wait. The amount of cheese was just enough that it was still stringy with every bite, but it didn't overwhelm the other ingredients in this sandwich. This tastes exactly what it sounds like. It has the spice of the jalapenos and salsa along with slight flavor of the black beans and sour cream that you would expect in tasty nachos. I will definitely have to track down C'est Cheese again many more times to get to try out each of their other offerings on the menu.

    So Gouda inside

I drove out to Mason on Thursday where they were having a little food truck gathering in front of Whole Foods. After surveying the parked food trucks, C'est Cheese was our first stop. We went with the So Gouda - as the name suggests, it was very good. Decent-sized sandwich for the price.

C'est Cheese food truck at the city flea

While visiting the city flea, my buddy and I stopped at this awesome food truck. We just ordered the cheesy wonder, which is your basic grilled cheese. But this was far from basic. There was ridiculous amounts of 4 different cheeses, and the bread was phenomenal. Really crispy and not greasy. The service was great and the food out quick. Sadly enough this was my first visit to a food truck, and it did not disappoint. I will be back many many times

Tried the bee sting while at the crafty supermarket. The people in the truck are so nice. The sandwich itself was great. The bread is buttery and so crispy. Really dug the crust. The combo of cheese and pepperoni totally hit the spot. I'll be keeping my eye out for this truck

You must get the Bad Girl when it is available. The combination of Brie, honey, and raspberry is phenomenal.

Oh. My. Gosh. SO so good…read more We started with the lavender lemonade mocktail -- which I absolutely added tequila to -- and it was smooth, refreshing, and dangerously delicious. 10/10 would order again exactly the same way. For appetizers, we got the whipped feta. Delicious, creamy, and perfect for sharing -- but fair warning: avoid the peppers if you're not into a little kick. They sneak up on you! My friend and I split the house salad and WOW. A complete showstopper. So fresh, the vinaigrette was bright and delightful, and those fresh bacon bits? Chef's kiss. It's rare that a house salad stands out like that, but this one absolutely did. Now let's talk about the prime rib. I typically do not like steak or prime rib... but our waitress recommended it as the best thing on the menu, and honestly the Yelp photos had already convinced me. When I tell you it was BOMB -- I mean it. So tender. So flavorful. Perfectly cooked. Paired with broccolini and mashed potatoes, it was a whole experience. To end the night, we shared the apple tart with cinnamon ice cream -- warm, sweet, comforting, and the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Great service, incredible food, and such a vibe. I cannot wait to come back.

I got the lavender lemonade mocktail which was delicious and refreshing without being too floral or soapy. For dinner I got the braised short rib which was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The bone marrow demi glaze I could have a bowl of that stuff is phenomenal. The broccolini was roasted perfectly but I felt the potatoes could've used more seasoning. My mother got the lemon chicken pasta, which was good at the time, but when she got home it did not sit well with her. All in all, I would come back for the short rib, and I hope Alara finds a new location soon. The inside is nice and romantic seating, but it is cold ... like bring a jacket and it seems it doesn't matter the season it is colder inside because I saw a google review that also mentioned the temperature of the dining room.

We are in town visiting and we went there for a nice meat meal after several days of dairy on the road. There were 6 of us at the table with 2 children. If I lived in town I would not be going back. They had 1 waitress working the entire place. She was kind enough but all she did was make excuses. We sat down at 6:15 and we did not get our hummus appetizer, which apparently they ran out of soon after, until 7:15. When we arrived there was only 2 tables occupied so it was not bustling. I am not sure how or why it took so long to prepare Hummus but given the ingredients I could have scratch cooked our entire meals in a fraction of that time. Again, when we arrived there were 2 other tables of 2 and maybe 1-2 small orders picked up during out time there. During our visit they had several more groups come in, some served before us, some getting the constant refrain, "we are out of this." It seems like there was 1 chef in the kitchen preparing all the food on their own. It is also highly problematic that they had 2 small children sitting there for an hour with not even a little bread or anything. We had to push the waitress to get the hot dogs out so they would calm down. As for the food, most of it was OK. The ribeye was properly cooked. The braised short rib was tender with a little wine flavor. The kids hot dogs were hot dogs. The chicken schwarma was flavorful. The Israeli salad was what you would expect. The green beans were overcooked, unseasoned and tasted like nothing. The worst and most impressive thing was how they got the mashed potatoes to taste like they came from a powder out of a box. I don't often leave something completely uneaten but they were inedible. How you can serve a $50 steak with such artificial swill is beyond me. I get it, they are the only option. Fail!
