My entree was rigatoni with a creamy Marsala sauce with tender chicken strips and mushrooms. My rigatoni was well balanced, just the right spice. My girlfriend thought it was the best lasagna she ever had The tiramisu was top-notch and A large portion we both enjoyed it. Every bite was delicious. The place was nice and clean. The service was great. The food was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. We will be back. The service is still great. The new menu, not so much. The new bread is four attached dinner rolls that are kind of sweet, not that 'classic Italian' loaf we know and love. The cheese ravioli filling has an off putting level of creaminess and little flavor. My family started going to the original Clark Street location shortly after it opened in like 1992, and it was always first choice for celebrations. They were even our second choice for our wedding reception in 2011. My two favorite items are gone. Our server was Aaron (Mingo) and he was beyond incredible! My hubby brought me for my 55th birthday dinner and Aaron made it so special. I had trouble deciding what entree to get, because everything is so good, so I went with the Lobster Carbonara. Of course with help from Aaron. Everything was a 10/10! Our waiter Ken was amazing from the very start to the very end; kind, informative, patient and attentive the whole time! Please give that man a raise! The food was DELICIOUS! The rolls were chefs kiss, baked to perfection! 2 for 59 deal was a STEAL, we had two of those deals on our tab with everything being so different but everything was soooo great, probably one of the quietest dinners my sisters and I have had. A solid meal and every experience is likely just as you'd expect it to be. From the top, let's admit - Maggiano's isn't a fine Italian Restaurant. The way I would describe it is that it's miles from the dumpster that Olive Garden is, but it's not quite up to going to an independent fine dining Italian Restaurant. It's somewhere right of the middle towards the positive side. When I go to Maggiano's, I have my go-to meal, like I do at most places. The Lasagna. It kills, every time. I love it. It's a perfectly balanced Lasagna. Right amount of sauce, meat, cheese and right size. When I eat it, I just barely finish it or maybe leave so little left that it's not worth it to take any home. I leave feeling satisfied and stuffed. So good. Now, on how much you may take home as leftovers.... this depends on your intake of appetizers and/or bread. We ordered a Calamari appetizer for the table. Very enjoyable. Good mix of the rings and the little squids. Crunch, well seasoned and just the right amount of chew. The bread rolls are stupid good. Hot, super light and a bit buttery sweet. They are a trap though. Good luck eating just one. They're good enough that you'll find yourself flipping a double-deuce bird off at your gluten allergy, should you have one. I don't, but I'm just saying. They're really that good. Would I go back? Totally. It's not fancy but it's always crowded. Maggiano's does not want for business. They have business every day, all day long. I would make a recommendation of booking a table in advance with an app that might guide you to Open Table's for reservations (hint-hint). Now, you might have a small wait, even if you make an advanced reservation, but they take care of you pretty quickly. Service is always outstanding. The Service Team at Maggiano's work their tails off. Fast, friendly and on top of their game. Maggiano's does pack them in though. Some booths around the perimeter but it's made up of two levels with a larger number of tables. Square, round and rectangle. Maggiano's can handle large parties or a small table for two. It's not overly loud but it's far from quiet. It's a busy restaurant, with a lot of people packed in tightly, but comfortable, with background music as added ambiance. Parking is a situation. Like many Maggiano's, it should be called Mall-giano's, as this one is located on the outside of a mall. More specifically, about the last major mall left in the Cincinnati area. The parking lot is a nightmare, year round. I do believe that Maggiano's does have valet parking, but I've never used it. Drop your people off at the door and drive around to look for a spot. You'll find one eventually. Would I go back? I don't go out of my way for it, but sometimes it's good for a celebratory meal or if you're in the area. I can't say that I've ever walked away unhappy. The amount of food you get is unreal. My daughter-in-law and I always get the buy one take one home event when we go. This time we were celebrating the birth of our granddaughter and the waitress actually brought us a special dessert at the end of our meal. The service was awful, we barely saw our waiter the entire night and had no idea where she even was most of the time. Food took forever to come out, and when it finally did, the portions were smaller and they even switched up the bread for the worse. For my birthday I was very excited to come here. All I can say is the food quality, service and ambience all decreased since I was here in 2019. We came here on a Sunday and had a late lunch at 2 pm. We ordered are usual favorite entrees and appetizers that are the calamari, fried zucchini, eggplant Parmesan, chicken piccata and spaghetti and meat sauce. Food wise everything tasted old. The fried appetizers tasted like they were cooked in oil that hadn't been changed enough. The eggplant Parmesan had hardly any sauce and cheese. The spaghetti and meat sauce lacked moisture (I have no idea how this can happen) and the meat tasted overcooked. Everything was seasoned a little different and not like how I remember it. They also don't grate fresh cheese on your food like they used too and their free bread tasted lower quality as well. Since I booked the table and mentioned it was for a birthday, usually I expect the server to ask if we are celebrating a special occasion. They did not ask. They also acted like they were annoyed the whole entire time when the restaurant hardly had any customers. The biggest thing I disliked and never have had happened he brought us out the check without asking if we wanted dessert. Number one the check was brought out even before we finished eating and number two we came here for a birthday celebration and we're excited to order desserts for the table. After we got the receipt we just decided to have dessert somewhere else since it was clear the server wanted us to finish quickly. What a pretty Italian restaurant. The subway tiles on the floor remind me of NYC, I expect this to be down on Bleeker street, somewhere in the village. The wait staff was very kind and helpful, the white tablecloth reminds me of what I expect from a fancy Italian restaurant to look like. The plates! Oh wow I miss seeing plates like these! Okay now to the food. We got the meatballs, made from WAYGU! No I've never had WAYGU before, and wow is that a major difference from just standard beef, it's almost veal like. We got the crab cakes and the generic salad to share, and lasagna. My kid loved the bread they put out also. None of the food was over the top honestly, I think it is top 3 Italian restaurants I've been to but nothing crazy. It was very busy so we ate at the bar. Food was very good however I asked for gluten free menu and dish. I got their gf chicken parm and gf pasta. I never touched the bread or apps. But something in my dish must have been glutenized bc I had all my typical symptoms including swelling. Normally at Maggianos, when I tell the servers I am a celiac and need gf, a chef will come out and check in to reassure me. This did not happen. I w a s disappointed that I ate at a place that has a GF menu but isn't careful to make sure it's GF. In addition, we had a server who did not look happy to be there at all. she was nice as we were leaving and saw her tip. I don't tip less than 20% most places bc I know they work hard. She was happy to get her 20% and smiled then. We were not difficult customers and didn't ask for anything unusual. I know it's hard work. I was just expecting more Maggianos, from both the staff and food. Next time I'll try Cheescake Factory and see if things are better. read more

We finished the beef and didn't realize we could have ordered more but it was everyone's favorite. The eggplant was way overcooked (burnt). For dessert we got 3 choices: butter cake, cheesecake, and Tarimisu. The butter cake was out of this world, we were stuffed and got 2nds. If you only get one dessert get that. They make it there.
