Born and raised in the neighborhood, I have seen many pizza businesses stay for along time or quickly close. We have our staples that have been here for many years and Cestras is on that track. We have Franks, Tommy's, and Louie and Ernies as big staples but Cestra's can hold their own in the lions den of pizza :) I really appreciate their service for dine in -- it's casual but helpful and efficient. You really can't ask for more from a pizzeria. I have countlessly ordered delivery from them because they are the best pizza place that will deliver to me. I always find that ordering an entire pie is better than individual slices but they are both good. I ordered the chicken caesar salad wrap once and while it was tasty -- I was disappointed to see that the wrap was whole wheat without me asking for it. This is my go-to place for grilled chicken salad and pizza. I decided to try their meatballs with spaghetti and get a small salad. First, I always get their garden salad with their house dressing which is really good. The salad always comes with a side of bread which is soft and good. The spaghetti with sauce also comes with a side of bread was good but nothing spectacular. The meatballs I was kind of disappointed with. They were good portion ( 2 big meatballs cut in half), however, they really lacked seasoning. I was surprised because their pizza and salads are good and I figured that would translate to everything else. Again, they were not terrible but for 15 dollars an order I expected better. Overall I love this place and plan to slowly try everything in the menu. I usually walk in but this time they offered a 20% off for first time online orders. Delivery was fairly fast and the young man was very friendly. I highly recommend this place. read more

Wow I wow wow. I want to wear Cestra's pizza grease dripping down my wrist like a badge of honor. I had a meat lovers pizza and it cradled me. While I was waiting to order I noticed that they had a chicken Caesar salad pizza and there was a woman who was getting one; she said that it's now the only thing that she even gets from there any more. Their crust is chewy crusty deliciousness it tastes like what pizza standards used to be when there were standards. As for my Sicilian slice the cheese tastes amazing it actually has its own flavor you can taste each devoted component of this pizza the sauce is perfect, the crust crusty and cariño cheese ican stand on its own. The driver said I'll check and be right back. He never came back. We call, and they say it's on the way. 12:15 a large order for 12:45 delivery arrives. That driver called in front of me and told me there was no order for 4 pies, we called the Westchester Sq location. No, we didn't, we called Tremont like we always do. We don't have that order, it's very busy. 12:20 we call again.they tell us it just came out of the oven, it's on the way. 12:33 PIZZA ARRIVES! Too bad class ends at 12:45. Pizza was great. The chicken roll was burnt and way too hard when I came into the store. I mentioned it was my first time here and I was just checking things out. I asked if the Buffalo slice had blue cheese in it which they did so you know, I mentioned it was not for me so I got two slices and a chicken roll. I sat down and as I was waiting for my food, somebody who came after me got their slice before me and the person manning the cash register brought the slice right to her table but when my food came out, he had me come up to the front table to come get It. On a recommendation of our teenage son, we decided to order in. We ordered a regular cheese pizza, a Sicilian slice and garlic knots. Maybe this was a bad night for them? This was hands down the worst pizza we have ever had! This pizza was void of taste! The crust was limp and the sauce was acidic. I ordered through seamless and my order was wrong and missing items, when I called back to complain, the owners brother was extremely rude and disrespectful. Seriously, all they had to do was replace the order that was wrong and send the missing items. Instead he yelled and screamed at me for not knowing things that weren't listed on the menu, for example, I ordered shrimp scampi with penne. It came seperate and the penne was covered in red sauce... no where on the menu (seamless or physical menu) says that it comes in red sauce and also 2 ordered of garlic were missing but somehow it was My fault? Little known fact: "Cestra" is Italian for "Our pizza is baller." This place is exactly what a New York pizzeria should be. They're nice guys who make good pizza and don't much care about anything else. Cestra's interior is small and not particularly inviting. Aesthetically, it is "meh" at best. But when you eat there, you feel like you're in a New York pizzeria, and that makes it awesome. If you want to eat at home, cool...they deliver quickly, so the pizza will still be hot when it gets there. Their plain pizza is great, but their chicken parm pizza is awesome. And if you're willing to risk a heart attack for the promise of a disgustingly excellent slice of pizza, try the meat lovers'. It's loaded with pepperoni, sausage, bacon and chopped meat. My brother always orders the eggplant and chicken parm hero (which isn't on the menu, but really should be, because it's awesome). It is well seasoned, sauced and cooked. The service is superb. They are attentive and willing to do whatever it takes. I order from them and they are reliable.
