Cash only classic NY pizzeria with seating available inside and out. It was admittedly the last stop on a pizza tour but it was definitely good stuff. We had HUGE cheese Sicilian slices that were soft and pillowy with a sweet sauce. We also tried the fried Calzone - apparently a rare specialty item that was just so damn good. The staff were all friendly and the service was fast! It's a spot nestled in a neighborhood next to an Ice Cream/Water Ice place. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area.

Ok everyone, gather 'round. What we experienced last night was a game changer. Louie & Ernie's Pizza has been on many New York Pizza list for decades. When I see the Yankees in The Bronx, my go to first stop is always Arthur Avenue. I dismissed Louie & Ernie's Pizza, what if it's like Lucali with a mind numbing line? Well I'm happy to report that I pulled up to a free parking spot. The area reminds me of Queens, it's more residential so there's no parking worries. In terms of being slammed? We walked into a non assuming pizza place. Growing up in New York, it's the same style pizza place in every New York City borough. Walking into Louie & Ernie's Pizza on a Sunday afternoon, I see the TV has the Giants game on. There's the same wood paneling on the walls from the 70s, it feels like a time warp! Do the patrons realize they're enjoying pizza on Eater's The Best Pizzerias of New York City list? I walk in and see a small kitchen with the pizza guys crafting pizza. I ask the hostess do we need to be seated with menus or order here with you? I ordered two pizzas, Margarita and Clam and we all sat with our paper plates. The first pizza comes out, the Margarita pizza. Everything about this pizza is award winning. From the freshly made cheeses to the tomato sauce and thin crust, this is a real New York Pizza. It's something we all grew up enjoying. The Long Island Pizza guys with their TikToc videos and one hundred thousand followers, you're not making the same quality pizza as Louie & Ernie's Pizza. The clam pizza, my brother in law is a clam pizza fiend! I thought it was very good, there was a little heat to it so be aware if you order this pizza. After we left, this spot changed MY entire best NY pizza list. Louie & Ernie's Pizza is a travel to, pay the bridge tolls and enjoy this pizza type of place.

Slice of cheese. Perfect NY slice!

My brother and I were going to try out as many pizza places as we could on our drive through the city. Louie and Ernie's was our first stop...and it was one of the best of the day! We went with a slice of plain cheese pizza and split it. Perfect NY Slice. Huge, lots of cheese, good crisp/crust, a little grease but in a good way, tasty sauce etc. Fantastic slice to start the day. Would definitely come back and order many more slices and whole pies if I lived nearby.

I absolutely love this place! It is old school to the max. A real neighborhood gem. The pizza is fantastic with really crispy crust. I was happy to try the eggplant calzone which did not disappoint. The dough was crispy yet soft and the eggplant was tasty and plentiful. I still dream about the regular slice of cheese pizza, which was absolutely perfect. There are tables in the back that you sit at and they bring you the pizza. It's very cute. Even though it's a trek, I will definitely be back!

Some of the best pizza I've never had. Service was fast. It is cash only so keep that in mind. Plenty of inside seating. Will definitely be back!

I forgot to add that a large pie, (topped with onions & mushrooms) and a meatball calzone came to 53$!! So pricey !

Have been dying to get to this pizzeria on the Bronx. Found myself working in the area and finally got to try it. Wow ! Regular slice was outstanding. Sauce was a bit sweet but the crust was outstanding. Had a Margherita slice as well which was perfection. If you are ever around the area for sure stop in. Great pizza ! They have been in business since 1959 for good reason. A++++++

The best calzones in the world!

I'm back at my old stomping grounds and enjoying my favorite calzone spot. I used to eat at this place all the time when I lived and worked in the Bronx. They make the best calzones and make them fresh when you order them. Thin crust and full of deliciousness. Their pizza is outstanding too. The service is fantastic and the place is clean and welcoming. Plenty of seating as well as a nice outdoor patio for nice weather days.

Louie & Ernie place where my hubby eat lunch for many years while working in the Bronx . As soon as you walk in OMG the smell of delicious pizza is unbelievable. We ordered their famous chicken Parmesan calzone and a course a Stella to go with it . It's really a tiny place take out mostly but there are tables for dinning in too.

I first had my Louie & Ernie fill on Crosby Ave in The BX when a girlfriend of mine and I came here eons ago. So long ago, I had ordered like diced chicken on my slice or something. My early afternoon visit this time, did not involve chicken. Stay with me. The inside is a straight out riot of wood paneling- old school Italian style. The menu is concise but looks super indulgent. Since my cousin and her son are visiting from the homeland, I picked up a large plain and small Margherita pies to go and traveled well to my mom's house. My olfactory senses picked up a Parmesan cheese scent during my drive which I wasn't expecting. Once home, I ditched my Pescatarian Keto diet and dug right in. Louie & E's Margherita is zhuzhed-up with a simple and straight up tomato sauce just how I love it- without a mashup of seasonings. I honestly felt the Margherita was a true winner. Their plain pie was also a nice hit: right amount of cheeses, excellent thin base, perfect balance of tomato sauce and the crust is blissfully soft+crunchy. These folks serious take pride in their pizza- as they should. Hell...they've been around for decades. The truth is, the mix of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses was like a curveball. The pies were excellent though. Cash rules here- so if you're only carrying your bank card, there's an ATM here. The vibe is relaxed and casual with great service. Perfect for a quick lunch or an impromptu pizza dinner date.

I enjoy the Chicken Parm, Meatballs, Pizza, Mozzarella Sticks & deserts! I definitely have a thing for their Vodka sauce too How's the food? The meatballs are so good.. Tender.. They fall apart which I like. Not big on huge, dense meatballs anyway.. These things taste amazing! You gotta try them.. The Chicken Parm with spaghetti in Vodka Sauce is one of my favorites dishes The chicken is nice and tender, sauce has a great flavor, cheese is nice and melted, pasta perfectly cooked and it's a pretty big portion! The Mozzarella Sticks are like no other! I'm telling you! They make them fresh on-site.. Not store bought frozen sticks where the cheese pops out the casing.. These things are the real deal.. The cheese is stringy, well melted.. And they're pretty big.. They don't skimp.. Good for like 2-3 people.. I can only eat one myself.. The Pizzas are pretty good too! I really enjoy the entry dishes but if I'm with a group, I'll get a pizza to share. They're pretty small anyway. My favorite dessert is the Conollis! They have a nice airy, light casing.. The ricotta filling is so flavorful and fluffy.. So on point The service staff is always welcoming, accommodating and super cool. Really good crew. The place itself is so chill. Layback atmosphere, some really cool music plays in the background, classic Hip Hop, Funk/Soul breaks and more.. historical art decor fills the walls and vibes are always right in the spot. Might even have some games on the TVs.. great spot altogether.. You can see the Pizza cook in their fire oven.. Pretty cool I think. So if you're looking for a really cool spot to munch at in the Bronx Kingsbridge Neighborhood, you should definitely check out Kingsbridge Social Club. It's a vibe! Have a good one yall! -Ray

We started with the Burrata and butternut squash appetizer. It was an interesting combination and flavorful, though I wish the squash had been cut into smaller pieces. For my entree, I ordered a chicken sandwich. While the cutlet was generous and tasty, the sandwich felt a bit too busy for me--there was a lot of mayonnaise and an overload of chopped lettuce, which I ended up removing. We also shared their famous Miele Di Melanzane, which was delicious. The pizza was good too, and I really enjoyed the spicy honey on top. The staff was friendly and attentive which is always a plus!
