This place was a little bit difficult, Find, but totally worth it! You have to walk through the back door of the gas station to get to the back alley. The pizza slices were amazing and you can't beat the price! I'll definitely be back!

Excellent pizza $20 a pie. You will love it. Should be on your bucket list of to-go-to NYC pizza joints.

Back in New York City right after my Italian trip, I visit "Little Italy" in the Bronx and found this fun Italian-American spot selling creative pizza that will surely disgust the Italian nonnas back in Europe. At this spot, a former stable turned restaurant and a favorite of students from nearby Fordham University, I tried pizza topped with penne ala vodka for those dinner nights when one can't decide between pasta or pizza. Someone said, "Great idea, put them together!" Also, I tried a dessert that brought a delicious trouple: creamy Sicilian cannoli, and Nutella spread on top of a freshly baked pizza. I think it's quite poetic . These food are metaphors of how the migrant Italians have culturally evolved in America and particularly in the Bronx __ fun, daring, modern, and still very Italian with a dash of American. #curious_eater #littleitalyarthuravenue #littleitalybronx #little italy nyc

Pugsley Pizza Pie! Tastes as good as it looks! Believe me!

So my pal and I were in the mood for some pizza and I figured we'd go to one of my favorite spots Pugsleys Pizza up in the Bronx. The owner, Sal and his wonderful wife were at the helms this time. Very beautiful and happy couple. They make this spot what it is. We ordered the 10 inch small pie and it was definitely enough for two people. This pizza is so delicious. You definitely have to try it if you're in the Fordham area. Cooked perfectly. Nice andd golden. Perfect cheese to sauce ratio. The sauce is so delicious and crust is nice and crispy. There is no way you can go wrong at this spot. The service is Grand. They are very accommodating. You put your order in and they will bring the pie to your table. They also have other food there and you could order single slices if you'd like. The joint itself is nice and cozy. It's always cool to eat in there. So if you're looking for some really good pizza or Italian food head up to Pugsleys Pizza in the Bronx! All right, everyone, enjoy your day !

Pretty great little place in the Bronx. One slice was definitely enough for me, though I tend to eat a bit less than most. But it absolutely filled me up. My boyfriend's friend treated us so I can't quite remember how good of a price it was. I wish they had better drinks available, and the seating was not very comfortable. Otherwise, quite the little hidden gem!

We love this pizzas when we are in the Bronx! Huge slices for great prices. Employees say HI GUYS! :) Nice seating inside and outside. Big enough for a birthday bash! They even have a parking lot. How cool!

Delicious, friendly, fun, great service. All of the food was really good. However, the vodka, marinara, pesto slice was soooooo yum.

My favorite pizza place anywhere in New York. No frills, just a sweet older Italian couple making delicious pizza. My family has been going for years, and the first time we went feels just the same as the most recent time. And the staff is the best. Go to Pugsley's!!

Very casual pizza restaurant with pizza served on paper plates. When pizzas are done, the chef hits the gong! Thin crusted pizza was our order on this day.

Great place! My personal favorite is the penne vodka pizza. Owners and staff are so friendly I absolutely love coming here. Inside there is limited seating but they also have a patio. The decor inside is super sick too. This is a very popular spot for fordham kids as it is practically on-campus lol so be aware of that if coming here late at night, gets crowded.

Stopped by after reading many great reviews on this casual pizza spot. A lot of reviews posted pictures of the Love Pie which is an adorable 10" heart shaped pie. We ordered the garlic bread with mozzarella that came with a side of sauce for dipping. The staff was very accommodating and allowed us to order each personal pie with two different toppings. Overall very solid food, would recommend!

Im from CA and live in CT. I am peticular about my pizza. Hands down the best pizza I've had on the East Coast. The dough was crunching and doughy on the edge the way it's supposed to be. I tried garlic cheese nots for the 1st time and need to find a way to take these back to CA. The decor was rugged and dingy, which added to the great experience I had there!! Chefs kiss food was inexpensive and parking out back. Great place!!

A solid pizza stop. I was looking for something inexpensive and on the way from our subway stop to the NY Botanical Garden. I saw Pugsley's pizza on the map and decided to give it a go. It was $11 for two slices of pizza and a diet snapple which worked for what we needed. We ordered, paid, and they brought our food out to us at our table. We got a penne slice and a cheese slice. I wish they had some sort of veggie slice but that's okay. The penne slice was my favorite but that was probably because I had never had anything like it. Pasta on pizza? Revolutionary. Seems like a cool spot especially cause it's close to the college. Kinda eclectic art on the walls and something to look and talk about.

Period…read more If you want to know what real New York City pizza is supposed to taste like, stop looking and get to Louie & Ernie's on Crosby Ave. This isn't just a meal; it's a Bronx institution. The Vibe: Old School & Authentic This place is as "old school" as it gets. It's located in the basement of a house, and walking in feels like stepping back into 1959. There are no fancy decorations or "artisanal" gimmicks--just the smell of fresh dough and a gas oven that's probably seen more history than most museums. * Pro Tip: It is CASH ONLY. Don't be that person who gets to the counter with a card; come prepared. The Pizza: The Best in the Bronx I've had a lot of pizza, but this is easily the best in the borough. * The Crust: Paper-thin, perfectly salty, and has that signature "Bronx fold" with just the right amount of char on the bottom. * The Sausage: This is their claim to fame. They use huge, fresh chunks of sausage that are packed with flavor. It's heavy, it's greasy in the best way possible, and it's legendary. * The Sauce/Cheese: The ratio is perfection. The sauce is tangy and bright, and the mozzarella is creamy and never "rubbery." The Service The staff here are exactly what you want in a legendary neighborhood spot--friendly, fast, and no-nonsense. They keep the line moving, but they treat you like a regular even if it's your first time. Verdict: 10/10. It's simple, it's classic, and it's the king of the Bronx. If you haven't been, you're doing NYC wrong.

I paid 38$ for the super sized pizza. My kids devoured it, while my wife took pictures of of the kids eating their kite sized pizza slices. I highly recommend this "Bronx Style" pizzeria. But the fact of the matter is the quality of the cheese and dough is not up to par. The pizza resonates of low quality mozzarella cheese and poor quality bread. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they wanted to "try that place that they heard of on social media or from a friend who ate here 20 years ago. it's just not worth it. They are better pizza places in the Bronx (Circle, Yankee Pizza, Ernie's, Tony's on Throggs Neck, Pugsley Pizza)z If the owner were able to improve on the pizza by incorporating better quality ingredients, I would definitely give it a shot again. I wouldn't even mind if they charged seven dollars a slice for that mammoth slice because it is very very big. But in its current incarnation, I would have to pass on a second round.
