Wow! Delicious over-the-top ceviche and authentic flavorful Peruvian dishes with a focus on seafood. Ceviche is the star, with big succulent pieces of fish, choclo (giant corn), sweet potato, and avocado soaking up delightful leche de tigre (ceviche juice). We also ordered grilled octopus with potatoes, causa (stuffed yellow potato) with tuna salad, and fried tostones (plantain). The octopus was sizzling and was seasoned to perfection. The causa was a work of art. And the fresh tostones were thick and savory, the perfect mix of soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. We shared everything we ordered. The restaurant is a hole in the wall, casual with cute and colorful decor like llamas, flowers and neon lights, with indoor and outdoor seating. It's equally equipped for a date night or just getting some good food straight off of the beach. Can't believe how long we've passed by and seen it without realizing the quality feast awaiting us inside. Service was efficient, each dish arriving fresh and speedy to our table as soon as it was made. Chef Julio was friendly with us and asked how we enjoyed everything, especially the leche de tigre. When food is cooked with heart and soul, the difference is palatable. Prices aren't cheap but not expensive either and are very reasonable for what you get. 15% gratuity was added automatically. The menu takes some studying but the longer we read and re-read it, the more gems we found. And if someone in your party doesn't want seafood or ceviche, there are a few chicken, beef, risotto and other options.... something for everyone. Glad we finally dined here. Delightful! I stopped by Ceviches Peru this last Sunday when a friend and I made it our World Cup watching destination. While my friend ordered a jalea, I ordered their churrasco with a side of sweet plantains and black beans. The churrasco tasted like a regular steak, not with the smokey flavor I'm accustomed to with this dish. Wanting to enjoy a pisco sour with our lunch, we were told we would have to wait because there was a problem with the ice. When we got that first round, they were enjoyable & with enough of a buzz. While it did have the classic egg white foam, ours were missing the angostura garnish. When we ordered a second round of it, there was again a problem with placing the order and my friend and I settled for beers. As a Peruvian, I visited this restaurant and was SO disappointed. The "Chicha" drink had no flavor. I had to ask for lime and sugar to make it flavorful. I should have known it was not going to be good once I asked for the Cau Cau and they told me they had it but had to be defrosted. Overall delicious, although the seafood rice is definitely on the salty side. Tacu tacu, basically a pancake shape of rice and beans, is well made with some crispy edges. Highly recommend the chicha morada and passion fruit drink. They taste like the real deal, some places are more watery and bland. The waitress recommended the suspiro a la limena for dessert, but it's rather nondescriptive, and at $8.50 totally not worth it. The waitress's English was really limited. We waited half an hour after our drinks arrived and no food came. We had to use google translate to let her know that we are still waiting for the food, only to find out that she didn't place it. My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from here tonight. Upon entry into the cute little restaurant, we were greeted by the staff. The waitstaff were all very polite and the ambiance was casual and fun. It's very beachy! For our appetizer, we shared two orders of Yuca Frita a la Huancaina. The yuca had a nice crispy exterior and a soft interior, and was covered in a delicious yellow sauce. For my entree, I got the Parihuela de Mariscos Soup. It was so yummy! Very filling and filled with an assortment of seafood. I didn't get pictures of my boyfriend or his mom's ceviches, but he had the Limeño and she and the pescado. Both of them enjoyed their dishes! Both ceviches were good, although the flavors were very similar so difficult to distinguish between the two. We also ordered the risotto with grilled octopus (not pictured). The octopus was cooked well but the risotto was a little hard. For drinks we had pisco sours and enjoyed them! One thing I did not like was the additional surcharge added to the bill for non-cash transactions. This should definitely be mentioned prior to ordering.
