Leche de tigre the ceviche Classico was not my favorite but it's clean, good tasting, I felt it was missing something??? I eat a lot of Peruvian as my husband is from Peru. I'm always looking for the best. With that said it's a 5 star for the tigers milk.

We came here because of all the positive reviews this place had for their ceviche which my wife was wanting so badly. This place did not disappoint. She thoroughly enjoyed every bite of her Manya Ceviche. I had chicken fried rice that was also very good and full of flavor and juicy chicken chunks. Our server was very patient and helpful as we asked a lot of questions in English which was not her first language.

High quality ceviche and Peruvian food in a casual setting. No wait and great service. We bring our dog with us as well. Great spot if going or coming back from the beach.

This place in Miami is simple and cozy, its atmosphere dedicated to Peruvian culture is undeniable, the service of our Argentine waitress was attentive to every detail during our visit, the food was up to par, delicious with good quality products, the only point to review the "patience" of the manager when explaining the dishes. The Inca cola so good too

Overall delicious, although the seafood rice is definitely on the salty side. Tacu tacu, basically a pancake shape of rice and beans, is well made with some crispy edges. Highly recommend the chicha morada and passion fruit drink. They taste like the real deal, some places are more watery and bland. The waitress recommended the suspiro a la limena for dessert, but it's rather nondescriptive, and at $8.50 totally not worth it. The waitress's English was really limited. We waited half an hour after our drinks arrived and no food came. We had to use google translate to let her know that we are still waiting for the food, only to find out that she didn't place it. Nice of them to allow us to sit there half the day with just a drink order, and not bothering us or asking us to order food, lol, but umm we were hungry.

My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from here tonight. Upon entry into the cute little restaurant, we were greeted by the staff. The waitstaff were all very polite and the ambiance was casual and fun. It's very beachy! For our appetizer, we shared two orders of Yuca Frita a la Huancaina. The yuca had a nice crispy exterior and a soft interior, and was covered in a delicious yellow sauce. For my entree, I got the Parihuela de Mariscos Soup. It was so yummy! Very filling and filled with an assortment of seafood. I didn't get pictures of my boyfriend or his mom's ceviches, but he had the Limeño and she and the pescado. Both of them enjoyed their dishes! I tried my boyfriend's and it was very fresh and flavorful. I look forward to trying more dishes next time I'm in town!

Great value ceviche. Chef was also my waiter and he was polite and attentive. Excellent choice on a hot day at the beach. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because I did have a better peruvian ceviche a few days before this at another location for the same price. This was still very tasty though.

I have been craving Ceviche the past few days and decided to check out this local Miami spot. The customer service is impeccable! I was very impressed with how happy the staff looked. The music was perfect for the Ambiance. I ordered the shrimp and Fisch ceviche. It was the perfect blend and the portion was a lot larger than I expected. I washed everything down with their delicious lemonade. Definitely worth a visit next time you're in North Miami

Everyone is friendly and the service is quick and they explain everything very well when we had questions about the menu. Highly recommend!

My wife and I were drawn by the beautiful ceviche pictures on yelp. Dressed up for a dressy dinner and showed up wondering if we made the right choice. Dove in and we were amazingly impressed! Like a family ran business. All of the staff wait on us w humility and purpose that made us glad we came. The food! Unlike most experienced in Miami, the pricing was low for what you received. My ceviche was so good and my portion was a man sized portion that I had to push to finish! Can share the mix seafood ceviche! A lot to eat but still not miserably full because of the fresh light seafood. 5 star!

Food was amazing I went twice. The staff was very nice and helpful. There was a bit of a language barrier but we worked that out. If I had to reduce a few points it would be because the restaurant was hot.

By the time we arrived, around 8, the place was packed! We waited about 20 min so not too long at all. The spot was a great setting with open air and plenty of plants and comfy chairs. Our server and the host were both excellent. Very gracious with us. Our table ordered a few appetizers as meals as well as regular meals. Octopus, moussaka rolls, shrimp Santorini, salmon and lamb. The octopus was cooked perfectly. The lamb shank had an excellent bed of orzo but it was a little over done as parts were a bit tough. It still mostly fell off the bone though and was tasty. There was a minor mixup with the timing of our plates as the appetizer meals were delivered early and one seemed to have been forgotten. It didn't really bother us but they went above and beyond in apologizing by giving us some free desserts galaktobourko and Greek yogurt, both of which were delicious, as well as green tea shots! Both totally unexpected and unnecessary but greatly appreciated. You can tell that they pride themselves on their customer service. Overall it was a great experience and a lot I would definitely recommend.

Choosing which lobster or yellowtail from the ice counter you want them to prepare, and how you want it prepared, is a fun part of the dining experience for us. Occasionally they have hog snapper or another fresh catch available. The fried lobster tail was fantastically seasoned with a little kick, and I've never had it prepared this way, chopped up into bite-sized pieces. Very filling and we could have shared one, but we still managed to devour both tails and left very full and satisfied. Each tail, including one side, was about $40 - but market price items vary based on size and weight of what's available that day. There are also plenty of less expensive options on the menu. One of my favorites is the yellowtail sandwich. And if you get there before 7:00pm you can order some oysters and lobster croquettes from the happy hour menu. Captain Jim's is a casual and comfortable restaurant with marine decor where the food is the star. Service is always friendly, helpful, and attentive.

The service was great -- friendly, fast, and patient with my very serious happy hour ordering strategy. Food-wise, there were some real winners. The tuna quality is excellent (like, "I might start pretending I'm a sushi expert" level). The BBQ skewers were delicious, and the run rice was amazing. I would happily order those again and again. Now... not everything was love at first bite. The fried mushrooms and the chicken skewer just didn't do it for me. Not terrible, just not something I'd fight my friends over. Drinks during happy hour are good, but a little on the sweet side -- I had to double check there was actually alcohol in there. The watermelon drink is probably the best one, but definitely ask for low sugar unless you want dessert in a glass. Overall, great spot for weekend happy hour, great ambiance, good sushi, and solid service. I'll definitely be back... mostly for the tuna and those BBQ skewers.

It was overly-drenched with dressing. The flavor was a little bit off, and I actually couldn't finish the salad, which was a smallish portion to begin with. Silverlake Bistro used to be our go-to neighborhood restaurant in Miami. It offered consistently…read moregood food, a welcoming atmosphere, and reasonable prices, making it an easy recommendation for friends and family. In fact, as my wife and I were walking in on our most recent visit, I was commenting that this would be a great place to bring out-of-town guests. Unfortunately, that opinion changed by the end of the evening. When the bill arrived, we learned that the corkage fee had increased from $25 to $35 without any notice. We politely explained that we were longtime customers who had always paid the longstanding $25 fee, but management was unwilling to make any accommodation or honor the previous rate. The increase itself did affect our perception. While $10 may not seem like a large amount, it represented a significant percentage jump for a neighborhood bistro, and it shifted the overall value equation for us in a noticeable way. What made it more frustrating is that a corkage fee increase feels different from a menu price adjustment. Rising food, labor, and operating costs can justify higher menu prices, but a corkage fee is simply a charge for opening and serving a bottle the customer brings in. Increasing it 40% without notice felt excessive, especially for a casual neighborhood restaurant rather than a high-end dining establishment. At $35, the corkage fee no longer feels aligned with the restaurant's positioning or value. Combined with the lack of transparency and the unwillingness to honor a long-standing rate for loyal customers, it meaningfully changed how we view the restaurant. The food was still very good, as it has been on previous visits. However, the overall experience left a sour taste. As a result, my wife and I won't be returning, and we will no longer recommend Silverlake Bistro to friends, family, or out-of-town visitors. That's a shame, because this was once one of the best reasonably priced neighborhood restaurants in the area. A relatively small change, handled differently, could have preserved our loyalty. Instead, it cost the restaurant two regular customers and future word-of-mouth recommendations.

The menu consists of well known dishes but there are no surprises - everything is cooked well and tasty but not memorable. The best dish is the Ceasar's salad which is prepared table side, using raw eggs (!) and is a must-order simply for the show. Everything seemed to order it. The crab cakes were very good - crispy crust and big chunks of crab with a spicy mayo on the side - worth it. Lumache Alla Vodka was also good, with the pasta cooked just right and a nice spicy kick to the sauce. The almonds on the European Sea Bass made the fish - toasted and slightly caramelized paired with a very good sea bass. Get it if you are in the mood. The oysters Rockefeller are simply ok but not worth reordering. The chocolate layer cake was also very good but not extraordinary and typically of any good pastry shop's version. Finally the service is what you would expect of a Michelin Star, which was precise and well executed although our waiter has a pretty bland personality compared to the guy serving the table next to us.
