Manta es oficialmente mi restaurante peruano favorito de Miami. Me lo habían recomendado, pero honestamente superó mis expectativas. Desde el inicio, me encantó el diseño del menú: está muy bien pensado, con fotos grandes, descripciones claras y sugerencias de acompañamientos que hacen que todo se vea aún más apetitoso. We found ourselves unexpectedly in Wynwood for lunch today, and did our trusty yelping to find a suitable sushi in the vicinity. There were many choices, so we settled on Manta Peruvian & Sushi. It has $$$, so we did expect to pay. The place is on the street, but still has nice comfy patio seating. On a random Tuesday late afternoon it is nice and quiet. We settle on conquistador paella, at $56 and $19 sushi roll. Pretty steep for lunch! (No lunch pricing) Staff is gracious and welcoming. Stars for that. The roll is delicious, and substantial. However, the paella has a weirdly sweet undertaste, and I expect a nice crunch to some of the side rice in the pan. Worse, it is very heavy on rice and a little skimpy on the protein for $56! What was there was tasty-chicken, steak, chorizo all good. It still was tasty, but nothing special as paella goes. I wanted to love this place with all the great reviews, but sadly we will not return. There are too many other great choices in the area, so I will not recommend this. Every so often I try a restaurant that is well reviewed and find that it does not even come close to living up to my expectations. This was one of those occasions. Was in the Wynwood area and wanted to try a romantic lunch with my wife and for that, it really hit the mark. This is a lovely restaurant with a beautiful menu on both food and drink. Prices are steep, but I expect that in the Wynwood area. The weight staff was wonderful and very welcoming of my dog and brought her a nice bowl of water. Each minute I per is the menu by expectations increased because it truly is an inspired menu and the pictures are absolutely beautiful. I chose the paella and a sushi roll. This sushi was good. I do like when a Peruvian restaurant puts their own personal flare in the role and this had a delicious tempura shrimp inside with mahi on the outside and it was really quite good. The Paella on the other hand was a major disappointment. The rice was overly sweet and of a slightly mushy consistency. It lacked the socarrat, that crunchy crust to paella rice it makes it delicious and distinctive. In addition, there were six small slices of steak and six small slices of chicken. Far less volume than in the picture in the menu and certainly not enough to fill up anybody with even a reasonable appetite. At $59 this is a sad portion size. The steak was delicious, but the rice and the portion size disappointed me too much to enjoy it. If it wasn't for the great service, I think I would've placed this at two stars. Not because the food was not average because it was; but the location in price point demand the food to be well above average. Not anxious to give this place another try with so many better choices in the area. read more

I came here for dinner on a Thursday and it just so happened to be Halloween and they had the place decorated and the staff wore costumes. It was a really fun experience. The food-amazing! My favorite was the fettuccine. The sauce was so flavorful and the pasta was chewy and properly cooked. I was slightly disappointed by their Lomo Saltado, cause I've had better and their sauce is super salty rather than flavorful. However, their french fries were super fresh and fried to the perfect crispiness. Highly recommend regardless. Especially since they promote sustainability in their practices. read more

A friend and I were craving Peruvian food around the Downtown/Midtown area and decided to try Manta Restaurant instead of our usual CVI.CHE 105 and I'm so glad we did. It turned out to be a great discovery. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't too crowded, though it gradually filled up as the night went on. The drinks were excellent, and the service was attentive, friendly, and very accommodating. The food felt clean, fresh, and well prepared. We ordered the ceviche and the Pollo Saltado, swapping the traditional lomo for chicken, and everything was delicious. I always know a meal is good when I leave feeling satisfied and light, and that was definitely the case here. We'll absolutely be coming back. The Wynwood location is a nice bonus, especially since we went on a weeknight during the holiday week and the area wasn't overly busy. Not sure how weekends compare, but this was a great experience overall and a spot I'd highly recommend. read more

We opted for a new restaurant for our girls outing this afternoon. Thereafter we went to the ballet. Manta was great. Service was very good, locale cute. We ordered several dishes and shared it all. Everything was delicious.. But the best was the stuffed cilanto corn purée ravioli. A must try. Extremely tender melt in your mouth dish. Not very expensive either. The food is super delicious, everything I ordered gets a 100/100 rating; the freshness and flavor combinations are simply PERFECT. Came here on a Friday afternoon during Art Basel week, and decided to grab a drink at this restaurant near where we parked and I got the Pisco Sour Maracuya while my friend got the Sangria they had brewing. The sangria was okay, nothing too special and not strong. My drink (the Pisco) was so good. (Marco was the bartender.) It is a passion fruit flavor, and is so delicious, and refreshing (and well balanced). I love this! We were passing by and the menu was intriguing. The restaurant was pretty empty, no reservation needed. I really wanted to try the empanadas, but the waitress told me they were sold out. Ended up ordering the crispy rice with tuna and it was okay, the crispy rice was super super deeply fried and rock hard. Then I ordered an entree, the pesto pasta but instead of Mahi Mahi, we ordered the steak. It was a terrible dish. The pasta was cold and the pesto did not taste fresh. The steak was also extremely chewy and fatty with little flavor. We left the dish as is and ordered the salmon. We told the waitress we were unhappy and were not even offered to exchange the item or receive some money off our bill. We ended up paying for 2 entrees and only ate one :/ I had high hopes but sadly will not be coming back to this restaurant. read more
