    Aji de Gallina

This is a nice place just off Alton Road in a small strip. We decided to give it try for dinner the other night. We were greeted warmly. Like other Peruvian restaurants a small bowl roasted corn and plantain chips was brought to us along with a small taste of leche de tigre. My husband and I shared the seafood combination platter including Ceviche de Pescado, Arroz con Mariscos, Jalea Mixta, Yucca fries and Criolla salsa. This was a serving for 2 as well as some leftovers. Every thing was done perfectly. Our daughter had the traditional Aji de Gallina. It, too, was delicious and we had leftovers for the next day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am particularly sensitive to loud music. The server turned it down when the volume seemed to increase.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a good meal and an enjoyable evening in a neighborhood restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Salivating, sensational ambiance, elegant hardware.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] High-Grade Peruvian food. Alvaro L. was an exceptional server. This kindness made the food taste much better, and I ordered more than I anticipated. This man deserves the world. I feel blessed to have met him! Next, the ambiance was incredible! The music was fantastic. It was nice music loud enough to talk over but filled the room. Many decorations and esthetics were authentic and pleasing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I can't believe they had tours of Peru playing, music mashups, and other TVs, while the only audio is the main music, which is a vibe![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was phenomenal. I am Peruvian and can attest it made me confident enough to tell my grandma it was close to her cooking! Can't forget that we got complimentary leche De Tigre when we sat down along with canchitas and plantain chips! I WILL RETURN to this establishment every time I'm in Miami. This place is seriously tight!

Excellent food and service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Relaxing music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Excellent taste! The jalea mixta was superb! Probably two people could eat from this plate. I came back because the ceviche mixto was spectacular too! Gerardo was excellent and provided the best service.

5 Star Service! What a great restaurant on Alton Road and. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Amazing ambiance and great choice of music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The best Lomo Saltado we have ever had. Thank you Carlos for the great hospitality. We will be back! Loly and Michael

The food was delicious we had different kinds of foods and all was amazing. The service was okay at first we did not felt welcome as the owner asked us if we had a reservation when we said no he looked like he didn't want to seat us, but all the tables were empty so it was awkward. However, as time passed he was a lot nicer. We will definitely come back for the food

Wow amazing authentic Peruvian food. Big foodie and I travel every 2 months to Peru and I can say this might be the best Peruvian restaurant in Miami. Trust me, I eat Peruvian a lot, from Miami Beach to Kendall, Midtown, etc. Food is very fresh and delicious, great portions and presentation. I was actually very surprised as the location is not the most appealing but just like in Peru what matters is the food. Service is also very good. A gem. Just saw the other reviews and I'm surprised as I also order Pan con chicharrón once and it was huge ! I doubt are legit reviews. Anyway highly recommend!

The fusion of Peruvian and Cuban was excellent and the atmosphere was sexy and vibrant. I had to try their piscojito cocktail which is a fusion of a mojito and pisco sour. Loved it!! We got a variety of dishes to share: octopus appetizer (Revolucion de Pulpo), Inka Maki (an interesting octopus roll), traditional ceviche, a chicken dish and the skirt steak (Churrasco a lo Pobre). Everything was excellent and teaming with nuances of flavors. The only gripe is the chicken was a bit dry but still good. As the evening progressed, live singing and music commenced. They were a talented pair singing song requests. The ambience and stage here make this place fun and also perfect for a date. Our server and staff was also very friendly, upbeat and solicitous. I would love to return and repeat this experience next time I'm in Miami Beach!

The ceviche was average ( we tried 4), ropa vieja also average. Jalea again average and unremarkable. The most disappointing and borderline disgusting was the tacu tacu, fish wasn't fresh, scallops were chewy and under cooked. Overall a shame when compared to the highly superior Ceviche 105. Yuck. Stay away. Don't waste your money. Manager was rude as hell. Apparently we are wrong in not liking plates of dog shit.

This is hands down one of my favorite meals of the year (yes, I do keep track because food is that…read moreimportant to me). For the price, the flavors were beyond what I expected. The mix of Japanese with Peruvian flavors was jaw dropping. We had 4 dishes and we loved each of them (and this is rare!). The salmon poke with the typical Peruvian sauce was stunning. The ceviche was our favorite bite. How do I even describe it?! It was some of the best Peruvian ceviche we've had and we are from Southern California and they have some pretty good Peruvian restaurants (not the best but good enough). The salmon heaven roll had a lovely smokiness or char flavor from torching the salmon. It paired well with the light sweetness of the miso sauce. Our only complaint was the spicy tuna roll had too much spicy mayo. We aren't huge Mayo fans but we know this isn't typical. People usually love the mayo sauces on sushi but we don't. It definitely was spicy unlike some places that say spicy but you can't even feel the heat. It's a super casual vibe so it feels like home becuase you can come right after the beach and feel right at home. Our server was super nice and friendly. We will DEFINITELY will be coming back!!

Ceviche is the star, with big succulent pieces of fish, choclo (giant corn), sweet potato, and avocado soaking up delightful leche de tigre (ceviche juice). We also ordered grilled octopus with potatoes, causa (stuffed yellow potato) with tuna salad, and fried tostones (plantain). The octopus was sizzling and was seasoned to perfection. The causa was a work of art. And the fresh tostones were thick and savory, the perfect mix of soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. We shared everything we ordered. The restaurant is a hole in the wall, casual with cute and colorful decor like llamas, flowers and neon lights, with indoor and outdoor seating. It's equally equipped for a date night or just getting some good food straight off of the beach. Can't believe how long we've passed by and seen it without realizing the quality feast awaiting us inside. Service was efficient, each dish arriving fresh and speedy to our table as soon as it was made. Chef Julio was friendly with us and asked how we enjoyed everything, especially the leche de tigre. When food is cooked with heart and soul, the difference is palatable. Prices aren't cheap but not expensive either and are very reasonable for what you get. 15% gratuity was added automatically. The menu takes some studying but the longer we read and re-read it, the more gems we found. And if someone in your party doesn't want seafood or ceviche, there are a few chicken, beef, risotto and other options.... something for everyone. Glad we finally dined here. Delightful! We will be back to dine in and maybe even to pick up some ceviche to-go to bring with us and impress at family gatherings.
