    Aji de Gallina

This is a nice place just off Alton Road in a small strip. We decided to give it try for dinner the other night. We were greeted warmly. Like other Peruvian restaurants a small bowl roasted corn and plantain chips was brought to us along with a small taste of leche de tigre. My husband and I shared the seafood combination platter including Ceviche de Pescado, Arroz con Mariscos, Jalea Mixta, Yucca fries and Criolla salsa. This was a serving for 2 as well as some leftovers. Every thing was done perfectly. Our daughter had the traditional Aji de Gallina. It, too, was delicious and we had leftovers for the next day. I am particularly sensitive to loud music. The server turned it down when the volume seemed to increase. It was a good meal and an enjoyable evening in a neighborhood restaurant.

Salivating, sensational ambiance, elegant hardware. High-Grade Peruvian food. Alvaro L. was an exceptional server. This kindness made the food taste much better, and I ordered more than I anticipated. This man deserves the world. I feel blessed to have met him! Next, the ambiance was incredible! The music was fantastic. It was nice music loud enough to talk over but filled the room. Many decorations and esthetics were authentic and pleasing. I can't believe they had tours of Peru playing, music mashups, and other TVs, while the only audio is the main music, which is a vibe! The food was phenomenal. I am Peruvian and can attest it made me confident enough to tell my grandma it was close to her cooking! Can't forget that we got complimentary leche De Tigre when we sat down along with canchitas and plantain chips! I WILL RETURN to this establishment every time I'm in Miami. This place is seriously tight!

Excellent food and service. Relaxing music. Excellent taste! The jalea mixta was superb! Probably two people could eat from this plate. I came back because the ceviche mixto was spectacular too! Gerardo was excellent and provided the best service.

5 Star Service! What a great restaurant on Alton Road and. Amazing ambiance and great choice of music. The best Lomo Saltado we have ever had. Thank you Carlos for the great hospitality. We will be back! Loly and Michael

The food was delicious we had different kinds of foods and all was amazing. The service was okay at first we did not felt welcome as the owner asked us if we had a reservation when we said no he looked like he didn't want to seat us, but all the tables were empty so it was awkward. However, as time passed he was a lot nicer. We will definitely come back for the food

Wow amazing authentic Peruvian food. Big foodie and I travel every 2 months to Peru and I can say this might be the best Peruvian restaurant in Miami. Trust me, I eat Peruvian a lot, from Miami Beach to Kendall, Midtown, etc. Food is very fresh and delicious, great portions and presentation. I was actually very surprised as the location is not the most appealing but just like in Peru what matters is the food. Service is also very good. A gem. Just saw the other reviews and I'm surprised as I also order Pan con chicharrón once and it was huge ! I doubt are legit reviews. Anyway highly recommend!

Walking in you get that old school feel with the staff dressed to the tee and very friendly. They had a special pre fixe menu that was fairly priced which allowed me to try a lot of the menu instead of having to order a la carte. Our server was professional and terse but in a way that I didn't mind and he even scolded some other busboys for taking too long to clear our table which I found funny but appreciated too. I started with the Stuffies which were amazing! The baked clams were dressed up nicely and these were very tasty. The stone crabs were delicious and I loved the dipping sauce it came with. Granted we visited outside of stone crab season and so I'd love to come back when the crabs are more fresh and in season. It also came with sides of hash browns, creamed spinach, and a grilled tomato. While I appreciate the quantity and variety they gave, these sides were a miss for me. The pre fixe concluded with my choice of the Key Lime Pie which was a nice ending for the meal. Nicely balanced between tart and sweetness. My only note would be for the crust layer to be bigger since it would help balance out the pie portion a bit better. We also got the fried chicken which is a steal for only $9. Excellent and crispy skin and very moist! The only dry piece was the breast unfortunately, but otherwise it's hard to find a better fried chicken at this price.

A perfectly seared snapper topped with a zesty caper sauce and pickled red onions, with buttery artichoke and sweet carrots below. For years, I had always passed-up the Poseidon on Washington Av. in South Beach,…read morethinking it was too much of an upscale restaurant for my social bracket. But, when I saw they were advertising a Lamb Gyro for $12 (Tuesdays), I took the leap. Seems it wasn't that far to jump. Although there were table cloths, cloth napkins and silverware, with room for a true dining experience, the fan sitting atop the bar, (blowing-off more air than necessary), and the plastic plants on the walls/ceilings threw-off any pretense I had of the place. When I requested the Lamb Gyro, the server pointed to an entree on the menu for me to approve. I made sure there wasn't another (re: pricier) offer. There was... it was the one he suggested. The gyro itself consisted of a bland (Tzatziki?) sauce that struggled to find my taste buds. Lamb (typically) has a gamey/slightly sweet flavor; these cuts seemed to be found from behind their refrigerator, (not from inside). They certainly weren't cut fresh from a spit, as they were old and nearly tasteless. The included slices of onion and peppers, delegated to the pita bottom, (instead of intermingling) barely helped. The French fries (included in the price) were the most flavorful part of the meal; although, they were an insult, rather than accompaniment to the experience. And, was that Latin (instead of traditional Greek) music coming from the speakers? Along with a 20% "Administrative" fee, I won't be tempted to venture in again.

Tania, my waitress, was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout my visit. In fact, every member of the staff I encountered while coming and going from the hotel was pleasant, welcoming, and courteous. I ordered the bruschetta, the shrimp and calamari salad, and an Espresso Martini. The bruschetta was fresh, with flavorful tomatoes and perfectly toasted bread. The shrimp and calamari salad was outstanding fresh, generously portioned, and beautifully prepared. The appetizers were so filling that I can only imagine how generous the entrée portions must be.
