This is the second time I've come in and I love it as much as the first. I had the special with scallops. The fresh sweetness of the scallops with the avocado cream and chipotle drizzle, and fresh salsa, perfectly complimented each other. I loved the fresh little cubes of pineapple. We both absolutely loved the chicken empanadas, and I thoroughly loved the cumin flavor in the filling. The crust was so fresh, and I couldn't get enough of the cilantro and pickled red onion that took this appetizer to the next level. I had the sweet plantains with syrup and whipped cream, and I tried to eat more of my husband's beignets with caramel and whipped cream, but he ate all but one bite he let me have. read more

This place deserves 6 stars honestly. Most definitely in the top 3 favorite places of mine in ILM. First, the core menu is phenomenal.... but for me the specials menu is where it's at. It's always changing and ALWAYS excellent. I only order entrees off their specials. Cocktails are fantastic, and appetizers are so good. Go ahead and order two of those GOAT guacamole's! The front of this place is so deceiving! My friend and I stopped by before they were open and just peeked into the little bar area. We made a note to come back early because it looked like there was limited seating. Who knew that there was an entire dining area and an outdoor patio out back that is designed like something you'd see straight out of a culinary magazine? So much went into the details of just the decor. And then came the food...omg. I opted for the Sea Bass and it was cooked to perfection with the perfect blend of spice and citrus. My wife and I were vacationing in Wrightsville and decided to try this place and were absolutely amazed. Our server Devon R was great, and gave us great recommendations. My wife had the special Blackened Striped Bass and I had the Blackened Scallops & Slow Roasted Pork Belly. The flavors in both meals were incredible, unique, and very much enjoyed. I'm so conflicted about this review. Here's the story (short version). It was a special day. I called at 12:30 to make a reservation. The girl who answered asked for how many. I said 2. The girl laughed and said they do not take reservations for 2. Nowhere makes reservations for 2 and laughed. I then wrote this place off even though I've heard amazing things. My girlfriend on the other hand really wanted to go. So we did. We arrived at 5:30 exactly to a halfway full dining room. I asked for a table for two. The girl asked if we had a reservation. I told her the story above. She looked at me like I was full of it and said it would be a 50 min wait putting the menus back that she had already picked up to seat us until I told her what happened. She said we could go sit at the bar. I'm sober so a bar isn't the best fit for me. But my lady was so happy to try the place I agreed (it's her smile). We sat at a small tall and wobbly circle two top by the front door. Through the meal there was no one really watching the door so there were a lot of people filling the walkway trying to find a table and bumping into our table at the same time. What I can happily say: Our waitress (name l...a) was amazing. She knew the menu and her recommendations were spot on. The food was perfect. I can see why the place gets glowing reviews. It was like 2 separate restaurants though. The bar area was staffed by charismatic people who were always smiling. The dining room was more of an "eh..we're going to fill up with or without you" mentality. At least from the hostesses. I'll definitely be going back. It was that good. I still have no idea if they take reservations for two or not. I could not get a clear answer I would have given 5 stars if the treatment were better in the dining area. read more

I've been coming at least once a week since it's opened. They recently renovated, expanded and got a liquor license...and they've lost none of their personal touch. The food is incredible from the items that have been on the menu since the place opened up to the new expanded menu. Their specials are always fresh and interesting, but their new dessert menu is where it's at...I've had them all, and I still can't figure out which to recommend. On a week long vacation to Wrightsville Beach we went to several other restaurants early on in the week, but once we ate here we didn't try a single other restaurant and returned here every remaining day we had. There was a bit of a wait to get a table, but not even the full 30 minutes they quoted. This is my favorite spot for a spicy margarita. My husband & I had the day to ourselves with no kids so decided to grab a drink for a lunch date. We showed up at 2:45; the restaurant was completely full except for 2 bar stools. Mind you we just drove in the absolute pouring rain, and ran in soaking wet after driving around trying to find parking. One of ladies told us they were closing down to set up for the dinner hours and that we couldn't get a drink & needed to come back at 5. Meanwhile, every table was full with guests eating & drinking. Very poor customer service, we would have been in & out in 20 minutes - probably would have been out before any other party was done!
