The front desk lady was extremely rude and dismissive, and her behavior was downright obnoxious. She refused to take the time to help with my concerns and made me feel unwelcome. It's disheartening because the rest of the visit was so positive, but this behavior has unfortunately soured my perception of the place. It's truly disappointing, and while I appreciated the esthetician and the environment, the poor customer service at the front desk means I won't be returning. In the four years, I've only had a few bad experiences where my lift didn't lift in the allotted time and came out too brassy. BUT I made my dislike for it and came back to fix it at another appointment. For $40 for root color and an additional price of $40 for highlights, it's really an affordable and easier way to get my color done without me having to do it myself. Since I have highlighted hair, I prefer to have a professional do it, rather than me try to struggle and do it myself, flipping my head in uncomfortable positions to get only the roots and not my blonde highlights. You have to be willing to a possible mistake happening but also make sure your voice is heard. Students have trainers who guide them but I've often found that you have to be vocal about what YOUR NEEDS are otherwise the instructors can sometimes make a decision on YOUR hair that you might not truly want. If they make a mistake or do something not to your liking, they are willing to fix it, at no cost as long as it's not a completely new & extra service. The vibe use to be really hip, but in recent years new instructors have come in & it lost its more hip vibe. I don't go there for the vibe tho, I go there for affordable hair care & services. If you want great training and can give all day to walking around and wondering when she'll notice you then Go! Following up I think she is an expert and doesn't realize what she's doing as far as time management goes the texting and talking on the phone every 5 minutes. So great review for nursing intelligence, experience, education. I visited Texas Laser Academy to have my legs and underarms lasered. The first time I went, I was…read moreunable to receive service due to an issue that could have been spotted by a questionnaire in advance, obviating the need for me to drive there. The same thing happened the second time. The third time, I was given an iPad to fill out a form. I have a disability that makes it very difficult for me to type on an iPad or phone, so I asked for help with the form. The manager complained (in a very confrontational manner) that I did not fill out the form myself. I have never been treated that badly before or since. That manager is the only service person who has ever complained about my need for disability accommodations. When I suggested that all forms be sent to clients before the first visit, so problems could be noted and solved before clients had to drive to the studio, he became quite defensive. He showed no empathy. I have never been treated so badly by any service provider. I find it ironic that a manager at a school that teaches people to perform a service career would be so callous. My advice is that you consider driving up north to Austin's other laser school, where service is impeccable.

In his mind, he decided what I (the client) was getting. At that point, I didn't even see the color examples. He then says, do have a problem? I was so blind sided by his condescending behavior. If they do not do certain types of hair or if they do not take suggestions than they should tell the customer upfront. They won't and do not do all types of hair and won't help the students.
