I absolutely love the service. I got here. I went to get my nails done last week and they were super nice and the prices are very decent and fair. I would recommend trying to bring cash for tip, they really did an amazing job because I went to go to a pottery wheel throwing class for making/shaping clay and I was expecting for my nails to be destroyed but the quality of the nails was so good that everything was fine and I was just making sure to clean my nails well and not to put my hands directly in the clay so it went fine for me. I totally recommend this place 10 out of 10 experience , only thing I would say is it took a bit longer than expected, but it was totally fine and they made sure I was comfortable! I'm also thinking about going to this place for their barber class because of how good of an experience I got and how well they seemed to communicate with the students, they all seem to have a wonderful relationship with each other! Get instructors who are skilled and not ones who have just been in the business for years. Students are not progressing in their skills as they should with time and experience. I got the same untalented student that serviced me 4 months ago and her skills are poorer! The instructor told her to set me under the dryer with rods in my hair. She sat me there for 4-5 minutes. When the instructor saw me coming back to the styling chair she asked what happened. She has instructed her put me under the dryer for 45 minutes. The instructor jacked up one side during an edge up and the student jacked up the other side! NOT HAPPY!!! NEVER going back. Now I have no hair style and no edges! When I got home, I could really see how absolutely their work is. I don't know how they thought this was even a decent job. They have NO SKILLS and time doesn't seem to better them...I think this particular student needs to find another profession. I was told the instructor is leaving in 2 weeks. I came to this establishment for the first time yesterday. I received a pedicure, a haircut, and a blow dry. Everyone who is here at this school was very kind and polite. All the work is done by students with teacher supervision. My pedicure and my haircut and my blow dry are all very nice. It does take much longer than going to a professional salon Because these students are doing their best and don't want to make a mistake. The teachers keep a good eye on the students while they are working on the customers, which is reassuring and comforting. The teacher that was there during my haircut was exceptional. She stepped in and helped the student frame my face with my hair. I like it! The prices are reasonable here. I had a total due of $30. I tipped each of my girls five dollars, which I think is important to do. The place was clean. I will definitely be back! The students need people to come in so that they can practice on real people. I highly suggest you go! They have a senior discount for 62 yrs and older. read more

I have used this service before and was very satisfied with my service. I had my first manicure and was very disappointed. My manicurist never even addressed my side cuticles and I still have hangnails. My nail corners are pointed and sharp. The teacher never even looked at my "job", she was mote interested in completing her own manicure. My student was allowed to check her own work. read more

I have been going to Central Texas Beauty School hundreds of times - - but have never been treated so rude by the supervisor of the lady who did my hair !!!!! I asked for a frost to highlight my hair to a blonde color, a cut and blow dry and style !!! Does my hair look like it has blonde highlights ??? When I ask about the highlights be big as blonde as I wanted - the supervisor was very rude and shouted - "SERVICES ENDED !!!!!! " and marched off to get my bull ‍‍‍‍ YIKES !!!! I won't go back - - - I wondered why there were not very many people there !!!!! Their prices have changed - WOW - - AND they aren't posted on their brochure!!!! What was previously a $35.00 frost - is now $60.00 plus - they charge for each bottle of chemicals they use!!!!!! Please make note of this if you still go there. Mr. B had retired and Mrs. Hilton is not here. The staff there has no one there from previous years. It is a very sad place - no one was happy - there was no low volume music playing -and very few clients. DO NOT go here! This place has really gone down since the owners passed away. I got the worst haircut I have ever received. The "instructors" are not any good and the girl that butchered my hair couldn't quit screaming at the other students the whole time she chopped on my hair. She did not offer or want to wash my hair. She did a terrible job. I did ask and pay for someone close to the end of their training and this girI said she was 5 months from graduation. Scary for the unsuspecting future victims. I made an appointment and took my 5 year old son here for a haircut. Perfect timing as he had just cut his own hair (!!!!!) right in front and I was open to suggestions on how to make it less noticeable with a new cut. I studied here and all the teachers were great assistance and are very hands on-- I had my hair styled several times throughout my course by several of the students and was always happy with the results. The student are very enthusiastic for the most part. I received a lot of guidance and coaching from Ms. T and Ms. Renee. I went today for a facial and eyebrows dyed. Ms M the instructor said she would do the procedures and asked me if I minded if some students could observe. She was an excellent teacher using many thought provoking analogies, explaining each step thoroughly. The facial was exceptional, as good or better than any spa I have experienced! It's a school. Always remember that. You can request and pay extra for Senior students. But that said I've had my hair cut and wash and it's been fine. I do have a simple cut, and my hair is thick and healthy, but it doesn't hurt to make sure you're happy before you leave. Check the length yourself, the curve of the neck shape to make sure it's even. Comb your hair yourself to make sure. They can't fix what they don't catch. Sometimes the instructors can be pretty busy. I don't color my hair so I don't know about that. I do get pedicures. All the ones I've gotten they have done an outstanding job! I do normally bring my own OPI polish and top coat. And it doesn't hurt to make sure they do two coast of polish. (Not necessarily here but...sometimes folks try to forget and skip it). read more

I came in for a quick cut a couple of weeks ago with Lori and she did such a great job that I decided to come in and get my hair colored. I had done a terrible job of coloring my own hair 6 weeks ago so there was quite a bit that need to be fixed. Kim and Ms. Manuela (the instructor) spent over 5 hours on my hair coloring, highlighting and low lighting. It turned out beautiful!! I have always been very, very happy with my experiences here. The prices are great, they always get you in within a few minutes, and they have always done a great job. I get tons of compliments on the haircuts I have gotten here. Also, the instructors thoroughly check the students' work after they are done so you walk out of there with a good haircut. The only cons I have found is that I frequently get a student who doesn't speak English, though the instructor will translate what you want in a haircut. The only other con, which you would expect from a beauty school, is that it takes them a long time to cut your hair because they are learning. They lose one star because I have sent two guys here, though, and neither of them were happy with their haircut. For me, though, I have always been very happy with the cuts I have gotten here and will definitely go back. read more

This was the first time I've ever been to a beauty school to get hair done. I'm so glad I did. I previously went to a salon in Round Rock for low lights and high lights, the girl(from the other salon) messed my hair up terribly. I had zebra lines on the the sides of my head and in the back. It was really bad. I met Sholeh and she was up for the challenge. Sholeh did the best job ever fixing my zebra lines. She did low lights, while weaving over the zebra lines and took her time. I had heard good things about this business so thought I would give it a try. The setup was nice and very clean. I walked in wanting to ask a few questions before making an appointment and I had to ask where the reception area was as no one even asked if they could assist me. I understand I walked into the 'salon' rather than the front area without realizing there was a side door. I finally stopped and asked someone. The young lady was very polite and showed me where to go. I went to the front desk and no one was there. I heard voices so I walked to the doorway. Two women were there talking, one looked at me and went right back to talking. From what I could hear it sounded like they were talking about someone who either worked there or was a student! I walked back to the desk thinking one of them would come out to help. Wrong! I walked past the door a couple more times and the same thing happened. I walked out and saw the young lady I had previously spoken to and told her that no one even offered any help. She apologized and said she'd find someone for me. I told her no thank you, I would not be making any appointment!! I am sorry to leave such a negative review but if the students are there to learn, they need to be taught by example. I have been here before but didn't know to leave a review. That experience was ok but the instructor took over the cut that my girls was to be doing and learning. The girls had just told me that she was about to graduate. I felt there was no need for the instructor to take over. This time I had Elizabeth and she was really sweet and she got started trimming my hair right after she showed her instructor Clest what she was going to do. She did a good trim. Most of the time when I go some where I say a trim and I end up with a cut. This instructor was very good in letting the stylist do her work. A couple of times she came over and just gave a tip or two to the stylist but didn't mess with my hair. I was very pleased with my trim. I like that they give seniors a discount on Tuesdays and I think Thursdays. So the cost is great for my fixed income. The only down side to this and most beauty schools is time. If you are in a hurry don't go. They are students and are learning. So they take their time to do it right for you to be pleased. read more

I understand they are a beauty school but they ruined my shirt with hair dye (which at another beauty college they never done) and my hair was itching so bad from the dye they never rinsed out. We called the beauty college in a panic after my 12 year old daughter came home from the hospital after a major spine surgery to correct her scoliosis. With naturally curly hair and orders for sponge baths only for 2 weeks, her hair needed a good wash and brush. The receptionist listened to my concerns and told me to come in and they could help me. They had their top student waiting for us. She was so patient with my daughter, who was in obvious pain and was as quick as she could be. But she when she went to get another bowl of color and told me the teacher put in for different color than what we had talked about. It looked more silver (not what I asked for) The cut was good. But the fact she told me it isn't going to look as good as it could have been made me question. I thought I needed a change. So I gave it shot. Needless to say, almost two weeks later my hair literally has no silver and looks EXACTLY like it did when I walked in there. I get it's a school. But I think everyone needs to be on the same page. I come on regularly base to the B-college. Ms. M, the instructor, does an excellent job. I love the red hair color what she mixed for me. This time Monica did an great job to color the hair and Jule styled the hair perfect. Thx a lot! Why do I have given only 3 stars? The receptionist Elizabeth was the reason to deduct 2 stars. Texas people are usually friendly, but not this girl. She not welcomes the customers or makes a friendly face. A receptionist is the first face that customers see, they should be more than friendly, otherwise the business must not be surprised that the customers no longer come. Until I was done with everything, it was about 3;50pm. Elizabeth came to the place where I was sitting, and said not at all friendly, i had to pay $ 50, it is so late and she wants to close the register. Normally I had not a problem at all to get check-out before I am done, but I would expect a friendly looking Girl, what maybe ask..."Sorry Ma'am. it is possible, i can already check you out, then i can close the register?"
