So sad!!!! Last massage here! They will no longer be teaching massage at the school and will be adding nail services. I'm sure the nail services will be amazing. All the massages I've received here have been top notch! Kyle gave me my last two massages and they were the best massages ever!!!! Megan at the front desk is amazing too. She has helped me so many times get an appointment and it's always an easy checkout!

Paisley did a wonderful job with my nails!! Loved the work that she did, took her time and attention to detail. Wonderful coloring combination and amazing job with cat eye technique. Will definitely book again with her. Keep up the good work!

Worst hair coloring I've ever experienced. I've been watching people highlight my hair for 10+ years and a blind person could have done a better job. It would have been decent if the student actually followed the instructions of the teacher but instead she just sectioned off chunks of hair, slapped bleach on it, and called it a day. Didn't weave any of the hair for a single panel, leaving me with chunky highlights from the 90s. To top off the experience, they rushed through the entire wash and tone, so it didn't tone properly and nothing was rinsed out very well. I left with soaking wet, tangled hair that still had a bunch of product in it. I understand this is a school, and people are there to gain experience and learn, but even I know you are supposed to weave through the hair before you put it on a foil. Students won't learn a thing if they can't listen to basic instructions.

@kaylaisdoinghair and the instructor gave me this beautiful color!

I am so glad I was able to get in on short notice last night! I had asked for an advanced student because I've had 2 so so haircuts since arriving in Austin and am thrilled to have found Kayla because I'm going to follow her whichever salon she ends up in upon graduation after seeing the great job she did for me. I'm super picky, and she and the instructor nailed my color. I'm a natural blonde and then color it, so there was a lot of growth that needed color that I never knew who to go to because I hate spending a ton of money without a referral. I knew a school would have someone watching over the process and am extremely pleased. Now, I can't wait to try all the other beauty services they offer. So reasonable and everyone was super nice. I wenf in the South, but there's a school in the North, too. I like this one because Chikfila is in the complex for a quick bite after work. I also like that the school is open late because I can't do anything during the day and get tired of doing things that are time-consuming on weekends.

Just got my hair colored yesterday with Judy who's graduating. She did a wonderful job. Pro tip: make sure when you schedule that the instructor on the floor is Katy (Hungarian) because she is the bomb. I'll post before and after photos. My hair was pink and roots were over due. They did a silk cap wash on me to take out the pink and lift the roots 1st so that my hair would not be damaged. Learned something new, my hairdresser of 8 years never did that. Afterwards they foiled my hair and toned it until I was happy without any attitude. Thank you very much Katy and Judy. I appreciate your commitment to making me feel fabulous for my birthday trip. All of this would have cost $400ish, it took 4 1/2 hours. I paid $55 Wasn't sure I really want everyone to know this, but if you're reading this, I hope you appreciate it

I used to get massages on a regular basis but fell off the massage wagon. A friend of mine highlighted that she has gotten massages once a month for the last 14 years. I was definitely behind the 8 ball on massages. My friend's long-term revelation was eye-opening, so I decided to get a massage today with Green Care Massage, which is located on W. Parmer, next door to Tomo Sushi. My massage choice was a deep tissue massage. Those polls are not for curtains!!! When my massage therapist asked me could she work on my back, I thought, I said yes. What she actually said was can I "walk" on your back. In my head, I was thinking why do her hands feel like feet...because they were feet! Snappity, snap, snap...I was getting a full on Ashiatsu massage (also known as back walking massage or barefoot massage). If you are not aware, Ashiatusu is a technique where the massage therapist uses their feet to apply deep pressure while holding onto overhead bars for balance and control. The word "Ashiatsu" is a Japanese word meaning (ashi=foot and atsu= pressure.) Apparently, my back was so tight I needed Ashiatsu first. My massage beginning to end was incredibly effective and rejuvenating experience. From the moment the session began, it was clear the massage therapist was highly skilled and knew her craft. The deep, slow strokes and focused techniques worked through my knots and tight muscles, especially in my back and legs. While there were moments of intensity that you would expect with deep tissue work, it was never painful (pressure...no pain). Afterward my body felt like it had exhaled and breathing fresh air.... well worth the time and money. I could feel the tension evaporating with each targeted movement. It is important note, I felt soreness in my neck and back during the massage that I did know existed previously. After the massage session, I noticed a significant improvement in my mobility and range of motion. My usual stiffness had disappeared. I do not know if I will get a massage once a month, but I certainly will not wait too long before another one.

I have severe dyslexia Went in for a 60/50 minute session as Intake is part of your 60 minutes. I liked my therapist she was kind and very sweet, however I will not be returning. I myself am a licensed Massage Therapist and visit massage schools every now and then. They are cheaper than any other places around, and I enjoy being able to help and direct future therapists. (Most schools give you a evaluation form to fill out, critiquing the therapist on how they did.) When I was in school I often found that most people would give 5 stars even if the massage wasn't great. And I always appreciated when someone would actually critique me. The only way to learn is by feedback from others. With that being said I felt sorry for my therapist. I usually ask how for along they are in the program. This gives me an idea of what I should expect. She informed me that she was finished with her program and only needed to complete her clinic hours. I wasn't expecting the greatest massage in the world but definitely was hoping for better then what I got. When I arrived no one was there. My appointment was at 12 and I arrived at 11:45 so I would have time to fill out my intake form. I went in and then stepped back outside due to no one being there. I waited a few minutes and a man finally came up the stairs to great me. I filled out my intake form very basic. I was looking just to relax so didn't have much to write. My therapist arrived shortly after me and took me back to the treatment room. Usually there is a verbal intake done by the therapist, just asking about pressure, type of massage requested, focus areas or places to avoid. However she didn't ask me any questions or direct me in anyway on if she wanted me face down or up. Or even where to put my things. She just told me to let her know when I was ready and closed the door. Once I was on the table she came back into the room and started the massage. After starting she asked me what I wanted to focus on. I simply replied that I had no focus areas and just wanted to relax, but if she wanted to spend a little more time on my back that was fine. She proceeded to massage my back and it was relaxing for the most part. Something we focus on in massage is "Flow" or moving from one part of the body to another in away that makes sense or feels good to the client. Her back routine felt more repetitive then I would have liked. She kept moving from my left side of my back to the right, back to the left then back to the right. Kind of like she was just repeating the same routine multiple times to kill time. I could tell she was spending way to much time on my back and figured I wouldn't be receiving a full body massage as I expected. Once she completed my back she then moved on to my legs, draping could have been better. It didn't feel super secure, and I could tell she wasn't 100% confident yet in her draping techniques. She also didnt have good flow on my legs. She started on my calf, then did my foot, and then did the upper part of my leg. Once she completed both of my legs she informed me she was finished and my time was up. So I only got half a massage. Usually when we do "half massages" we do upper body or lower body. This is not meant to hate on my therapist. She was lovely and I hope she continues to learn and grow. My review is on the school. At This part in the program the therapist should have been more prepared. The school should have prepared her to see clients. It's obvious that the school hasn't gone over proper intake for therapists and guests. And I don't believe that the school has prepared this therapist at all. I truly feel bad for her. Knowing that she paid so much money to receive an education that was supposed to prepare her. I hope she gets a job somewhere that helps her learn and grow as an LMT. I definitely believe she has the potential to a wonderful LMT given the proper training and instruction.
