Came here looking for tacos, but when we realized it wasn't the kind of tacos we wanted, we opted for something else. We were aiming for street tacos. However, when we got there and took a few moments to glance through their menu, we realized they didn't have what we wanted. Their menu was very scattered with a nice special variety, but I felt like we had to really look to see if there were other foods we could have wanted aside from what we came for. We decided to go with al pastor fries. Although that was also not on the menu, we decided to go out on a whim and asked if they had al pastor fries and ordered that instead. It took a while for our order to come out. When our food came out, we noticed the portion was of decent size for what we paid for, which was around $7.50. The meat and sauces were good, but there was a whole lotta cheese. A little too much cheese. We really enjoyed the red sauce we got on the side that comes with it. It was spicy, but had a really good kick to it. Depending on your spicy tolerance level, you might want to consider sprinkling it, dipping it, or pouring it straight on there. Perhaps next time we'll try a few of the other things on the menu! But for anyone looking for street tacos, this isn't quite the place. read more

Made the mistake of coming here tonight because I saw it had four stars and the pictures looked good... I didn't see the recent reviews though.... Ordered the food and waited an hour for some enchiladas and a burrito with two horchatas. While waiting, we listened to the cashier discuss how much he hated his job, watched him cheer as he talked customers out of eating here, and then talking about what a "sh*thole" he felt this place was. Once the food came out, it was COLD! After an hour. The horchata was watery and seemed like no one had mixed it or something. Unfortunately, after many years of Cha Chas being my favorite Mexican, things have gone south there. For one, they now have a B rating for uncleanliness. Two, they never answer their phone and will randomly close, so when you drive all the way over to them because they didn't answer their phone, you find they are closed on a Sunday at 3pm. This happened multiple times, on different days. Whyyyyyy? What happened?? I still can't find a BRC burrito as good as theirs, but I don't think I will be returning here. :-( read more

This place sucks balls!! They used to be great at one time, the service and the food. Now they are a sh*ythole!! I put an order in by calling in. I asked for a carne asada nachos and a Chile verde burrito. We were on a time crunch so that was why we called in. We got there and told them what we ordered and added two drinks. The guy working the window added the drinks but looked like he didn't know one way from his ass. He had our food in a bag and gave it to us. We hurry to the car and get going to our destination. A few minutes in we open the bag to eat on the go. Guess what crap they gave us??! They gave a two shredded tacos with beans and rice and a carne asada burrito. How in the hell to you confuse that with carne asada nachos and a chili verde burrito, all meat??!!!!!! Do pissed as hell, I call in to complain. The guy taking orders answers and I start to tell him that our order was wrong. He asks me hold on. But you know what he does?? He proceeds to take other people's orders. I'm hearing everything and he never comes back to me. After about 7 minutes waiting I hang up. We didn't have time to go back. If we had I would have thrown the damn disgusting food as his ass!! The tacos meat was all dry. The burrito tasted like days old meat that my husband couldn't eat it all and ended up feeling sick to his stomach. I drive from Los Angeles to get a shredded beef burrito with pinto beans and rice at Cha Cha's. This place is a real local favorite. Their food is so delicious, it's hard to describe -their salsa and hot sauce is amazing. I've been dining at Cha Cha's for 25 years and their food is delicious without fail. A while back they stopped cooking with lard. Some people said it affected the food flavor for the worse, but it is still fantastic and much better than anything I've tasted in Los Angeles. It's a dive, no indoor seating, and if you sit outside are going to have to deal with cold or hot weather (update: they recently added awnings), pesky flies and the ubiquitous smog, but does that stop me? NO! Cha Cha's is special and if you are ever on your way to Palm Springs or other desert, jump off at Mt. View or California exit head south to Redland's Blvd and have yourself some authentic Mexican food from one of the best little joints you'll ever find. You'll be back. You're welcome. read more

I've driven past Cha-Cha's dozens of times without really giving it much thought. However, my sister vouched for it after her co-workers brought some breakfast burritos into work one day. Upon strategic review of Yelp suggestions and a windshield survey of what people were eating when I got there, I decided to get two tacos de carnitas. Call me a purist but I asked them to just put cilantro and onions-- no lettuce, tomatoes, or cheese. I like my Mexican food in it's simplest form, not need for any fillers. The tacos were hefty in size and filled to the gills with roasted pork. However, the pork was slightly dry and required tons of hot sauce (which I'm now addicted to). The saving grace of the taco was the corn tortilla-- fresh, homemade and tasty (lard, me thinks). The rice and beans are quite good on the side-- flavorful refried beans (lard, again) and soft, fluffy rice. As for the outdoor seating area, the awning helps cool down from the typical high temps on a summer day. Just not a fan of the very aggressive flies swarming my food. read more

It doesn't look like much, but Cha Cha's has some of the best mexican food in the Redlands area. I especially love their "Taco De Carnitas". Unlike a lot of places, when I order it "meat and cheese only," they don't skim on either. The tortilla still barely fits around it. They also have complete meals in the $7-9 range. The only down side to this place is that there is only outdoor seating, but it's all covered so as long as you have a jacket you're good to go. The staff is friendly and they never give me any grief for using a credit card on small orders. Highly recommended!! read more

The best wet burrito in the area - I love their breakfast burrito and tacos. Service - nice, friendly and fast. (for freshly made prepared mexican food) Usually there is a long line, lunch and dinner time... other than that, you're alone... hahaha... NOT!! My favorite spot for burritos in the Loma Linda/Redlands area! I always call in my order and pick it up. Usually ready in 10-15 min. Only downside is the seating isn't great as it's only outdoor so I like to eat at home. Fortunately, burritos are a great takeout dish and they do a good job packaging their plates as well. The salsa is one of the best parts. The red one is spicy and builds up but has great flavor. The green one is not spicy at all and also has good flavor. read more

Today (11/15/20) I waited over 35 minutes for two tacos. You've got to be kidding. People were sitting around waiting longer than I was. They made me wait 10 minutes just to place my order. They use thick, hand made corn tortillas to make their tacos. This is a definite plus and rarity for a "taco stand", heck, you don't even get that in most restaurants! I had the fish taco plate (2 tacos), which they make with Swai fish. This is considered to be a very economical fish that takes well to spices/rubs and sauces. That being said, they sauce this fish very well, as it has very authentic Mexican "adobado" flavoring. The fish was very saucy/juicy and tasty. The perfect side dish to any Mexican dish is beans, and they don't disappoint at Cha-Cha's. You can tell the beans are fresh, mashed beans. They aren't overly greasy like most Mexican places. You can totally taste the "bean" flavor; the beans are "meaty" and a bit pasty (like fresh mashed beans should be). The little hint of cheese they top the beans off with is just enough to enjoy some cheesiness but not overpower those homemade beans! Tip: Dump the contents of one taco into the other and fill that tortilla, with saucy fish residue, with those slightly cheesy beans. Now, you've got one excellent fish taco, and an equally excellent bean and cheese taco. The other side served with the dish was another Mexican staple: rice. The rice was typical Mexican rice. Soft, lightly seasoned and overall, decent. I prefer soupy, tomato flavored rice myself. I'm excited to go back and try some tacos with animals that stick to land: carnitas, carne asada or chicken! read more

Always my go-to place! I LOVE their Vegetarian Burrito. It's not just rice, beans and cheese, but real vegetables bell peppers, zucchini, onions of course. For $8.00 (well, actually $7.99) it's worth it. Because of Covid, they are no longer open on Sundays and they close at 3:00 pm on Saturdays but hey, they do open early at 8:00 am Mondays-Saturdays! Just spent over $40 worth of food. I live right across the street, got food to go...food was cold, not to mention they took a long time. Greasy, looks like they're too lazy to chop up lettuce and just grabbed a bag of salad and threw it in the tacos (I could tell because my tacos had purple cabbage). Ordered carne asada wet burrito, got chicken. Pastor tacos 1 taco was ok, it was chopped and had cilantro and onion, the others, again too lazy, they just slapped a piece of pastor on the thick tortilla (as you can see on the picture)...fish taco had some type of adobo that tastes like pastor with melted cheese...was not a good combo! Mar burrito was too fishy, not fresh AT ALL!!! So disappointed that Mexicans cook this so called Mexican food. The only thing I liked was the horchata. A regular go to joint for me and my coworkers. Pretty good burritos, love their chips and salsa (very fresh tasting). Tacos are not really authentic street tacos (some come with cheese and lettuce on them and not cilantro and onions). Crunchy tacos are good, if you're into the crunch (they fry their own shells, I think). Some of my coworkers love the loaded nachos and the carnitas fries (although I haven't tried them). There's lots of stuff on the menu that I haven't sampled, so can't really comment on those items. If you like the idea of a walk up window to place your order and sitting outside to eat at their tile covered tables (tables are in the shade) or taking your food to another location to eat, this place is for you. read more

Not sure if I missed something here but I really didn't see this as a stand out. It's an outside only eatery that's right next to the road. You order behind a small metal guarded window and wait for your number to pick-up your meal. I felt you can do better at other Mexican restaurants. Wasn't a huge fan of the soft taco tortilla. It felt a little greasy. I place this restaurant between needs improvement and average. Try it either way and see what you think. Agua de Jamaica is great here, that I will say. read more
