They found a balance in those ingredients that is really hard to pull off. Other places tend to put too much guac to the point where it's gushing in your mouth with every bite. Sometimes the fries are soggy or there is too much sour cream. These guys managed to get the fries crispy, and the guac and sour cream was even through the whole burrito. The vibe is very different from your normal taco shop. It looks like a cross between a 1950s diner and a taco joint. They were blasting oldies from that era too so that was a nice twist on the typical formula. Looking forward to coming back!

I was passed to the manager who handled the situation in the most unprofessional way. I explained the issue to him, and he insisted that my torta today had the same amount of meat, beans, and cheese as always. I disagreed with him, and he responded angrily, "Everybody makes mistakes!" He raised his voice and repeated it a couple of times. It was completely bizarre that he chose to speak to me as if I was the one who'd done something wrong. A colleague spoke very highly of Taco Shack and after a close examination of the menu, I was in shock to see a California Burrito on their menu. I had to try it. The result? PERFECTION! Even the tortilla of the burrito was amazing. Aside from a tasty California Burrito, my first visit to Taco Shack was accompanied with friendly and fast service. The staff working the day I came in were kind, patient, and quick with orders. The establishment itself is a counter service type of spot. Because they typically provide very little salsa (which honestly is what makes the food), I called the restaurant ahead of time to ask about adding extra. The woman I spoke with told me they would include 10 green salsas and that I could pay for the extras. She wasn't able to process payment over the phone, so I went back into the app and added an additional side of guacamole per person to increase the order. When the order arrived, we only received 6 green salsas and nothing extra. When I called the restaurant, the same woman said she didn't see anything on her end showing the additions, so she didn't include them -- even though she had already told me she would. For a $55 order, not including the extra salsa that was discussed is frustrating, especially when this has been an ongoing issue with missing items in previous orders. On top of that, we ordered four separate dinners and everything was combined into just two containers. The lack of attention to the order and the dismissive response when I called back were disappointing. Unfortunately, after multiple experiences like this, I won't be ordering from here again.
