Living in Texas makes it impossible to find good Mexican food (if you're from California and living in Texas, you know what I mean). Every time we go back, I visit Cuca's. My sister and I made this our parent's favorite place, too. I missed Cuca's because I had it almost every day growing up, all the way until about a year after high school. Now I'm visiting the area and decided to order online--said it'll be ready in 6 minutes--came to pick it up about 25 minutes after placing order. Came up to the window and it wasn't ready. They haven't even made it. Ended up getting my food 32 minutes after I placed the order. If I needed to check in and still wait for an order placed half an hour ago, that took the same time as if I would've placed the order there, then what's the point of the online order? The salsas are on point, nd they don't play when it comes to portions. Definitely get your money's worth. My wife is from Redlands and always talked about Cuca's Mexican Food. We finally made it and Cuca's did not disappoint! We stopped by for lunch and there was a little line but it was quick. Cuca's has a walk up window but a nice parking lot in the back. I had the combination plate with chicken taquitos. The plate came with rice, beans, and two taquitos topped with cheese, guacamole, and lettuce. The taquitos were stuffed with chicken breast and were bursting with flavor. And I'm always a sucked for beans and rice, and Cuca's were delicious. My wife had a bean and cheese burrito and said it was just like she remembered. I come here all the time because I like their food, but the staff is never very nice to me through the window. I always come with a happy attitude because I come in my work outfit but every time I show up, they're stand offish and awkward. I came this morning with my coworker and they treated her with a big smile and gave her extra ketchup but barely said a word to me. To be honest, their food really isn't good enough to deal with their shitty attitudes, so I unfortunately won't be going back. When considering the longevity of Cuca's in Redlands's history, it definitely qualifies as an institution, providing that you only consider the original location, now called "Little Cuca's." In the 30 years or so that I've been here, with longer stretches of off than on, I don't think I've ever had anything except burritos. My first acquaintance was the enthusiastic recommendation from the guys working at what was then called Redlands Cyclery. As athletes who weren't 'in the money', we unanimously choose the bean, bean, and rice or bean, rice, and cheese burritos for the low cost, especially on special days. Surely, inflation has changed two things, size and price most places, but my recent walk down memory lane revealed that only price was affected. I also broke the mold by ordering a carne asada burrito (no onions). The familiar walking up to the window hasn't changed a bit, nor has the take-out nature. My order came up so fast that I almost couldn't hear the number being called from around the corner. Back in my vehicle to eat, it was a cold and windy day, but it evoked old memories. The sunshine felt wonderful as I reacquainted. The hot sauce hasn't changed much, if at all. It's still good. The size of the burrito seems like I remembered and very stuffed with grilled meat, cilantro, and shredded cabbage. The latter is unique, relatively speaking in the area. If I have a complaint, it's how salty the meat is, and I like salt. Prices are higher than, say, Tuxies in Riverside, where the equivalent burritos are 1/3 larger plus cheese, rice, and beans, but that's just for reference. Redlands is an expensive IE community, and the family deserves to do well. I'll revisit old favorites soon, and for the life of me, I cannot recall ever trying tacos here. 4.25/5 stars read more

Their food is freshly made and best Mexican food around! Their service is awesome! Unless they are swamped by a line around the corner sometimes! I have driven by here 100's of times and saw the crowds standing outside for their orders, but on this Tuesday early evening my order took 6 minutes (I guess timing is everything). The name on the store front, see my pic, gives the clue that this isn't their "full" restaurant - its takeaway only. This restaurant recently reopened after an interior remodel. I've posted a pic of their current, pic taken 5.10.23, main menu and pricing. There is parking in the back and on the side streets - while small I've always found parking. We had chicken and shredded beef tacos, and the Carnitas Burrito. For these items, we received our money's worth in quantity of food. As you can see in my taco pic (the chicken and beef both looked the same from the outside), it had a hard, crispy shell. I liked that if it wasn't handmade, it certainly tasted like it and held similar to a handmade shell. It had a nice crunch and added heft to the bite (let's face it; taco insides are generally on the softer side). The veggies were fresh and crisp. The chicken meat was moist and very lightly seasoned. The beef was richer and more savory. There were plenty of proteins in both tacos. I put my fork in the burrito pic to show the size of burrito - it's truly fully sized. I couldn't believe it, but this Carnitas burrito was ALL Carnitas. The meat was tender and lightly seasoned. While I tend to believe you can't have too much of a good thing, next time (since you have to take it home or away) I'd add some pico, or diced tomatoes and onions to break up the quantity and density of the meat (or, we actually shared the meat). We liked the results of their remodel, the price points for the quantity, and we won't be asking "Where's the beef?" read more

I've been ordering from Cucas for years . Things aren't always perfect , but I've always come back . Tonight was the exception. I placed an order and waited 40 minutes without complaining . Standing on the sidewalk I finally heard them call my name. Excited thinking my food was finally ready , they told me they ran out of shredded beef and the tacos I had been standing on the sidewalk waiting for 40 minutes for were not going to happen. Disappointed but what can you do ... they ran out they ran out ? I wasn't upset . Didn't get mad , politely asked if they had ground beef .. yes ! They did . Asked if I could just sub GB for the shredded beef . The nice young lady at the counter said sure .. then she thought for a moment and said I better ask the manager . The mngr said NO! NO SUBSTITUTIONS!!! After 40 minutes of waiting she had the nerve to say that ???? I had ordered tacos for the family and one side enchilada for me . They told me the enchilada would be ready in 5-10 . I walked away stunned then decided eff that !!! Give me my money back !!! The nerve to treat someone like that !!
