COCKROACH Believe me! Never thought it would happen to me. First, the host took long and never brought the menu. The waiter brought it, okay. The host brought the tortilla chips. I found a hair in the chips. It was underneath some chips and the rest sticking out. Okay, a hair, asked for new chips from the host since he was passing by and brought the first. I asked for some fresh ones and told him there was a hair in it. Didn't say anything but looked at the chips to see what I was talking about. I got through part of my burrito and felt something oddly crunchy. I was like, wtf, I took it out of my mouth and it was dark and flaky. Part of it looked red and part just too dark. Since I saw what was reddish, I thought it was a roasted pepper , that didn't seem right though. I thought I was a pepper, kept eating. Had some a third of the burrito left and was getting ready to ask for a box. As the waiter was passing, I started looking at the crunchy thing I took out of my mouth and took a closer look. It became more apparent that it was a ROACH . Yes, I unfortunately ate part of it if not most of it. I had been there a few times and never had an issue. I was still in disbelief but asked him what it was. I placed it in his hand. He said it looked like shrimp, that it turns dark when it's cooked, but it still shouldn't be there he said. I was just tripping on it and was like, no, but then was like it has to be. What else could it be? There's no way shrimp gets like that, I don't eat shrimp. I don't know what it turns out looking like... They didn't charge me for the meal. Marco's first reaction though when I told him was like ugh, you're going to put me through this and went off looking back at me. Yes, I put him through it. His service was mediocre but still gave him a decent tip. You tell me what it looks like. I was nauseous and disgusted all night and to this day. UNBELIEVABLE! read more

Was searching for a place for tacos in the area. Stopped here...similar to an El Torito. I ordered the 2 chicken taco plate with beans. (I don't like rice). They only have refried beans no black beans. The tacos came in fried corn tortillas, (not soft). Hefty fillings of lettuce and pico with the Smallest scoop of shredded chicken. (maybe an ounce.!!) I wish I would've taken a picture! I sent them back for soft tortillas and more chicken.!! The redone order was much better! The complimentary chips and salsa were good. (spicy salsa). I give this this a 4.6 My husband requested a special burrito. He is a bit peculiar about his Mexican food. He asked for a chile relleno burrito with beans and rice inside. Topped with a wet sauce. He was brought his meal on a plate with a side of guacamole and sour cream, lettuce salad and extra rice and beans on the side. Both of us asked for horchata drinks. I asked for the breakfast machaca plate with corn tortillas. We also received complimentary chips and salsa. The team was very attentive with us. It was a bit hot inside even with the fans on. Husband wished the horchata drink had refills. We missed the Sunday brunch. It's only from 10-12 for the buffet menu. Anyways. We'll be back!!! read more

Why isn't everyone talking about how delicious the taco salad is? Best taco salad I've ever had. Perfecttttt amount of everything- I did shredded chicken. It had beans and lettuce and sour cream and guac and cheese and tomato and the shell was perfectly crunchy and warm. Just wow! Everyone had fun and it was very clean. This restaurant is as good as any Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten at. And loving Mexican food the way I do, I've eaten at a lot. It's as good if not better than El Chollo. It's better than Pancho's in Manhattan Beach. I don't understand the reviews giving them a 1 star because of parking? Never had an issue with parking in the big lot. They have a Tesla supercharger in the parking structure just across from the train tracks that is great to use during a meal here. Veggie burrito is phenomenal. Their beans and rice are amazing. Fresh ingredients. Enchiladas are on point. We make it a habit to come here with extended family and everyone is always blown away and can't recall any Mexican restaurant that tops this one in terms of the food itself. Manuel's El Tepeyac in East LA maybe.... For the items we've had and continue to enjoy at Las Fuentes (burritos, enchiladas, combination plates, (kids love their Horchata), this is a win every time. I'm sad that TikTok let me astray. I went for lunch and we had the Molé enchiladas, shrimp enchiladas and a carne asada taco. My first red flag should have been that use mix for the aguas frescas. The chips and salsa were great. The carne asada had zero flavor and I mean not even salt. The Spanish rice had no flavor. The beans were ok. The mole was ok. Las Fuentes has been a Redlands staple for 20 years, the food has always been above average, excellent service and the number of times I've eaten here in the high-mid double digits. BUT, the last time I was here, 2-3 months ago, I was really disappointed; beans were watery mush, food was semi and overall just okay. Thought I would come here again tonight and it was such a letdown and disappointment. The food is still subpar but certainly not worth the $20 price tag or any price tag for that matter. I ordered the Enchiladas Verdes and the two forkfuls of beans on my plate were cold, not semi warm... cold. The rest was watery mush. The rice was cold and there was little to no meat inside the enchiladas. Such a huge letdown and disappointment. Tonight will be my last time here at Las Fuentes. read more

The food here is pretty good, I was pleased with the taste and quality. I had the chimichanga platter and my girl had the chicken soup. We also ordered a quesadilla as an appetizer. The prices were fair for the amount and quality of food received. The real winner for me was our server Marco. I was starting to realize how on point he was at the beginning. I would run out of a drink and it seemed to arrive seconds later. I decided to look at my watch on the next refill and he was there in less than a minute. The service was unbelievable. I haven't seen a server so efficient in years. Marco is awesome and I hope he is my server the next time I go. Cool place to come to before going to the movie theater next door. Came in for the $5 Margarita Monday deal (I ordered 1 Margarita and for my second margarita I asked for a double shot) and when I checked out, my bill was $20.. I asked about the discrepancy in price.. I was told I had to mention the $5 deal before ordering to receive it.. which was not noted anywhere on the large sign at the front of the store. We came about an hour before closing and it took a while for someone to greet us at the door, but once they noticed we were there the host was attentive. Once we were done, it took a while to find our waitress for the check as most servers were putting chairs up and starting to close the restaurant down. Las Fuentes is super conveniently located within the LOOK Cinemas building. You can see from my Inside pic, it has the traditional Mexican themed décor. Their menu is as expected. They also offer drink specials, so check out the blackboard at the entrance. We had dinner immediately following a movie next door. The staff was very attentive and our food came out quickly. Then staff became swamped, and it took a while for our check to come out. Tip: if you are done ordering food and drinks when your food arrives, ask for the check at that time. Then when you are ready to pay, you'll already have it and you'll save that wait time. We ordered two 2 Combination plates: selecting tacos, beef and chicken, chicken tamale and chicken enchilada. First we liked the salsa. It was hot but not too hot and the vegetables were still firm. (This is important to know for the rest of the meal.) The chips were average restaurant fare. Rice was also average. The refried beans were also standard but a bit better than others. The tacos were okay. The hard corn shells were traditional fare but with a wide base. They had crisp lettuce and fresh diced tomatoes. The shredded beef was very overdone and a bit crunchy. The chicken was cooked okay, and didn't have much flavor by itself. Las Fuentes has an interesting take on the tamale. They peeled back half of the corn husk and used it as a tamale coaster. Then they poured a bit of enchilada sauce on the masa and added a bit of cheese on top - it looked great. There was a generous amount of masa and a small amount of chicken inside. There wasn't enough sauce to add any flavor. The tamale was okay, and was the best of the 3 items. It had the same chicken as in the taco and enchilada and the sauce was also okay. read more

It was Mother's Day Brunch.. First Hosted was not rude but not nice . Just told us we only have Brunch today . Without telling us the price or how it works . When we finally got our drinks we when we to see most of the food trays were empty!!! No bowls, had to ask server for some . They only have a few spots for restaurant parking, the rest of the lot requires you to register online and pay an unknown fee. The only price posted is 250 fine if you don't register. If they can't provide free parking for customers, they don't deserve to have any. read more

Seemed upset we ordered waters, no straws, no chips and salsa (20 minutes of waiting), and she NEVER even put in our food order (intentional for sure). Instead, we heard from another server she "needed a break" and was crying. They couldn't find our order but I know she didn't put it in on purpose. We ended up leaving. The first thing I noticed after being seated was how warm and stuffy it was in the restaurant. It was already hot outside, so the lack of cool air inside was not comfortable. I ordered the carnitas fajitas. The meat portion was tasty, but finely shredded with no chunks of meat like I prefer. The beans and rice were very blah with little flavor. The salsa was delicious and really helped the dish a lot. My companion ordered a combo with beef enchilada and beef tamal. He said that they were pretty good. I ordered a Cadillac margarita which was served in a pint glass with a lot of ice and mixer that just watered down the liquor. My friend was disappointed in the small choice of draft beer, although they have a better selection in bottles. The staff was very friendly, and service was pretty quick. I came here because it was a friend's birthday, and he chose the restaurant. I don't know if I would come back on my own given the many other good Mexican restaurants in the area. read more

Haven't been here in years and upon arrival I realized they didn't have their AC on, I mentioned how hot it was nicely to waiter who just laughed, we then moved to the bar where it was a bit cooler. We ordered el pastor tacos and margaritas then shortly after ordering two other ladies came and sat beside us by the bar, they ordered their drinks and food shortly after we did and they were served their drinks before we got ours. Then when we received our food we mentioned we received the wrong order, the bartender said no that's what you ordered, we should have asked to have the correct order but we were already disgusted how the bartender catered to the two ladies in front of is including giving them free samples of alcohol without once asking how we were. The food was disgusting and so was the service. We will never be back again!!! read more
