Butter Chicken. Meat was very dry. It should have thigh meat because breast and leg meat are chewy and grainy.
    Nicol M.

The food used to be really good, but they changed the butter chicken to breast meat, not thigh meat which was way better. It was so dry! Naan was spongy because of the foil. It saddens me cause I liked this place. Every cook knows you never use breast for soups or sauce. $30 is too much for so little food

    Chicken Tikka Masala Lunch Special

Excellent food! I don't eat Indian food often but I would love to see this place do well. Chicken Tikka Masala, Samosas, and garlic naan are my usual go-tos. I love how they have many vegetarian options as well. I recommend the Channa Masala and the Dahl Tadka - both delicious vegetarian options. Super tasty too! Service was good. Ambiance is nice. It looks like they've done some remodeling. They even have a bar with barstools. Definitely recommend this place. This is a great small business to support.

    Vegetable Pakora

Overall I'd say this place is decent, not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst either. Tried the following dishes Chicken tikka masala-- tender white meat chicken, tender, not the juiciest but also not dry either. Medium spicy is not very spicy could go up on the spicy level. The flavor as a whole is a bit weak. There aren't that many actual chicken pieces for the amount of curry. Butter Chicken -- tender dark meat chicken, tasted pretty similar to the tikka masala, also with not that many chicken pieces. Vegetable pakora-- pretty good portion size, tastes best fresh fried, didn't fare too well as takeout but that's not a fault of the restaurant Saag Paneer-- pretty good, mild spicy level is not enough in my opinion Vegetable Korma-- lots of spices in this one, not bad overall Assorted naans-- in my opinion onion naan is the best of the 3, packed full of red onion pieces Compared to other Indian places in the area this is on par or slightly better. Compared with high volume places like those in SF, this is a little behind. Worth a try

Ras Malai and mango ice cream

My fiancé and I had the cheese naan, veggie tikka masala, paneer pakora for our meal then mango ice cream and ras malai for dessert. We also had mango lassis for our drink and they were amazing. The cheese naan and veggie tikka masala reminded me of a variation of a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup with Indian spices. The paneer pakora was okay. They reminded me of pizza rolls. The texture was a bit sponges. The green sauce was fantastic. The star of our meals was the mango lassi. So refreshing, creamy, not too sweet, had a nice amount of tartness. The ras malai was a sweet ricotta cheese dessert with sweet milk syrup. It reminded me of tres leches but a spongier texture than cake. The mango ice cream was a bit sweeter than the mango lassi, but still had a strong mango flavor. Overall, the food was exceptional. A lot of the flavors are different than what I normally eat, and the dessert was like no other I've had before. Would love to try more Indian desserts after this experience. The service was a bit slow and the place was neat and spacious with a good amount of tables.

A friend and I met here for lunch to celebrate her birthday and catch up. We arrived right at opening and had the place to ourselves for about an hour. Guests slowly trickled in closer to the lunch rush, but I was honestly surprised it wasn't packed -- because what they're serving deserves more buzz. We ordered the chicken tikka kebab, butter chicken, methi malai shrimp, and garlic naan. I'll admit, I was skeptical about the chicken tikka since I'm not usually a fan of chicken breast (hello, dryness). But this? Tender, juicy, well-seasoned, and paired beautifully with the mint sauce. A strong start. The butter chicken was slightly different from what I'm used to -- more red orange in color, clearly leaning into a stronger tomato base. Creamy, flavorful, and a bit brighter than the typical richer versions. Different, but still very good. And then... the methi malai shrimp. Wow. Just wow. This was new to me and absolutely the standout. The coconut-based sauce was rich without being heavy, beautifully balanced, and full of flavor. The shrimp were cooked perfectly -- tender, not rubbery, and not curled tight (which usually signals overcooking). This dish alone makes the 30-minute drive worth it. I've since checked menus closer to home hoping to find it elsewhere... no luck. The garlic naan was the perfect companion -- flavorful but not overpowering, ideal for scooping up every last bit of sauce from both dishes. Service deserves its own spotlight. The host/waiter was phenomenal -- attentive without hovering. Water glasses stayed filled, he checked in just enough, and at one point mentioned he didn't want to interrupt because it looked like we were deep in conversation. That level of awareness? Appreciated. Smaller, intimate setting. Thoughtful service. Well-executed food. If you're in Vacaville and craving Indian food, give this place a try. In my opinion, it absolutely holds its own -- and maybe even edges out the more "popular" spot in town. And yes, I'll be back for that methi malai shrimp.

We were seated immediately, which I always appreciate. The space is pretty big with a modern feel, and there's plenty of parking out front (no circling the lot like a hawk -- love that). Even though they gave us the lunch menu, we went à la carte. Ordered: tandoori chicken, butter chicken, coconut shrimp, butter naan, and rice -- all medium spice where applicable. The tandoori chicken was tender and well seasoned -- no dry chicken nonsense here. The butter chicken was exactly what you want it to be: rich, creamy, tomato-forward, and comforting. But the one that caught me off guard a bit was the coconut shrimp -- creamy, slightly sweet, and a little more mild than "medium" heat, probably because of the coconut milk, but still really good. And listen... the butter naan? Fresh, warm, and absolutely necessary. Both the butter chicken and coconut shrimp were made for dipping. No shame in wiping those plates clean. Service was great. Staff was kind, checked in on us without hovering, and kept our water filled without us needing to flag anyone down. Overall -- easy, enjoyable lunch. Good food, good service, no complaints. I'd definitely come back.

My friend and I walked 16 minutes because we were starving and didn't have a car. The reviews looked decent, so we figured it was worth the trek. As we got closer, however, we ended up on a street with a smell that could only be described as a warning sign from the universe. I told my friend, "If the restaurant is on this street, I'm not going in." Naturally, it was. My friend convinced me to at least give it a chance. We walked inside, and while the smell wasn't quite enough to send me running, it definitely wasn't helping build confidence. My friend was fine with it. Later I realized she was simply too tired to walk anywhere else. I ordered the lamb biryani, and she ordered the butter chicken. We also got what was advertised as a green salad. Calling it a green salad felt generous--it was more of an onion convention with a few green leaves attending as guests. The food arrived, and I was so hungry that I would have eaten almost anything at that point. I started enthusiastically. Then something magical happened: as soon as my hunger went away, so did my desire to continue eating. The butter chicken was the biggest mystery of the evening. It tasted nothing like butter chicken. In fact, I'm still trying to solve the case. Was it chicken? Was it butter? Was it an entirely new life form? The world may never know. The lamb biryani wasn't terrible, but it wasn't memorable either. The most memorable part of the meal was trying to figure out what exactly we were eating. There were only two other occupied tables, and they looked just like us--hungry tourists who had followed the reviews and were now silently reevaluating their life choices. As we left, my Indian friends' advice finally came back to me: "If you walk into an Indian restaurant and there are no Indian customers, keep walking." Sadly, my brain remembered this valuable life lesson only after I had already met the world's most mysterious butter chicken. Some lessons are learned the hard way. Others are learned 16 minutes from your hotel while carrying a to-go box you know you're never going to open. On the bright side, the walk there and back counted as cardio, and I left with a story that was more satisfying than the meal. for the adventure. for the food.
