HAHAHAHA where do I begin? Although this flea market has a ton of booths AND is FREE (no admission fee required), the folks selling are rude, horrible, and always seem to have a terrible day. Selling at the flea market should be fun! Prices are what you'll get for NEW in the store. No seller wants to negotiate (and further adds comments such as "I don't want to sell you, you can leave now" or adds excuses such as "it's harder to crochet small animals") even when the market is about to close. I am trying really hard to support... For example, someone in my party wanted toothbrushes. The individual selling the toothbrush placed a price tag higher than what you'll purchase in store NEW (and let's be honest, less likely to be stolen in the stores). The person in my party was willing to do a bundle deal for a mild discount (such as if one was $3, my person was willing to do 2 for $5). The seller legit says "you can leave now, I don't want to sell to you." WTF. Customer population: Mainly Hispanics Seller population: Mainly Hispanics Parking is free. Yay! Glad to know my local flea market is reopened not just on the usual 3rd Saturdays, but also the 1st Saturdays this year. Per their website, they will be open in 2021 on: March 6 & 20 April 3 & 17 May 1 & 15 June 5 & 19 July 3 & 17 August 7 & 21 September 4 & 18 October 2 & 16 November 6 & 20 December 4 & 18 I love coming here on the weekend to browse through some neat finds or to just take a walk and get some sunshine. I used to sell my items in the past here since there's a lot of foot traffic. If you have items you think others would like to buy, it's worth trying to sell here! Made $290 for 9 hours of work. That's $32.22 per hour! That's more than I make at my daily job. I shared the booth with Christina D over the weekend, who made a pretty penny too. I would totally recommend this to anyone trying to get rid of their household junk. $35 for two parking spaces, $40 for three parking spaces. Low reviews ? Why?? It's a flea market people, not Bloomingdales ! Random new kitchen gadgets for $1 or less, orchids for $4 that bloom for months and corn with hot sauce and cheese . That sounds like a good day to me! I don't buy any of the used items that many of the sellers offer here , but there are some great nurseries that have nice house plants, flowers and fruit trees. My favorite orchid seller it the one in the front row. For $10 you can buy 2 orchid plants that bloom for several months. If you don't want to carry them around . You can pick your flowers, pay and come back when you are done strolling the flea market. I even bought a plumeria here from another seller. While this flea market is not as big as the one in Sj, I like to stop by here once in a while to buy plants and dig through the $1 areas. Who doesn't like plants and a good deal ? read more

Good mix of yard sale type stuff and new, cheap household stuff. Some booths specialize in similar items but most had a broad mix of stuff from the last 5 decades of American culture. Lots of character and interesting mix of people. I spent less than $20 on a handful of kitchen supplies and two new hats. The restroom facilities are provided by the Chabot College, no smelly port-a-potties. Free parking right next to the booths and in a kind of remote parking lot past the tennis courts. There is an old farm house complex right next to the parking lot. Very scenic. All and all a good visit. read more

I had a space this month, first time. Linda was awesome as far as getting me registered ahead of time. The location is clean, well laid out and easy to set up. Crowds were constant all morning and bought almost all my second hand clothing!! No buyers for the skis and boots or the antique sewing machine. A good mix of items sold. I went for a walk to see the rest of the market - and accidently bought fish and chips. Garlic fries!! Fantastic fish!! I may come by next month JUST for the fish and chips!! read more

Best deals are in the back where they put people who are first time sellers or infrequent vendors. Prices are usually really good. This is a great place to come for plants. I scored this huge succulent garden wtih 6 plants for $3. For realz. I also scored this big necklace from Africa (or so he said) for $5 and a dress for $8. Minus one star because the bathrooms they make you use are soooo far away and there's always a line. read more

Yes, this Flea Market is still around, Hooray!!! I am so disappointed at the Point in Alameda. High entry fee and vendors are very expensive and sell not that great stuff. Like small town Flea's as you can get great deals. Only thing is there are too many retail vendors. Since both Ohlone and San Jose have closed, the retail vendors now swamp Chabot, Coliseum and Laney Flea's. I like that they put one time or occasional vendors in a special area as this is were I go for the great deals. Glad it's still around! read more

It was pretty cool. I went with my husband and we didn't really go for anything in particular. Just looking around but we did end up finding a very nice bathroom memory foam floor mat. I needed one and I wanted the exact same one I had. I had gotten it from target for $20 bucks but, this one vendor had it for $7. Not bad at all. She was really nice too. And one of the only people selling new items. Most sell old or used things. That's ok because it's a flea market but not good prices for the used, old, broken or missing pieces items :( One guy had old tools and almanacs and I really wanted them because I LOVE old rusty, crusty vintage things but alas, $10 dollars per book? I dunnoooo, maybe 5? He didn't allow my haggling cheapness lol Oh well. I also got one cute transparent-ish, blue, animal print thermal shirt. It looks better in person lol it sounds ugly on here but I swear it's cute! It was 2 for $7 and I got 1 for $5 because I wanted to see if it was worth it. IT WAS WORTH IT!!! I should have bought 10. The vendor man was not very nice at all though. He was pushy and didn't let me touch anything unless I bought it :\ It's cool though. He's probably just protecting his merchandise. There's parking next to the booths, but it's real crowded from 10AM on. Held only on the third Saturday of each month, Chabot Flea Market has about 250 vendors. Not as large as some of the other college markets like DeAnza. Only a few food vendors (selling hot dogs and tacos), on the day we went. The usual stuff sold here; socks, orchids, garage sale things, sunglasses, old VHS tapes, hats, baseball caps, jewelry, stuffed animals, etc. read more

So this flea market is very interesting... Definitely the place to go if you're in the mood to haggle and looking for random stuff for your house or yourself. What's also nice is that the bathrooms are Chabot's and they're actually maintained and kept clean. Busy as heck, but when you gotta go, it's nice that it's not in a port-a-potty. They also have a few booths that sell plants, flowers, and orchids....some are a really great deal and some have the same prices that you would find at the retail store, but it's always nice to support local business. You can tell that for some of the vendors, this is their livelihood. For others, like me and my friends, it's just an opportunity to sell some of our things before we end up donating them. To get a space, it's only $35. My friends and I had a row of spots (8 parking spaces) and for my very first time being a vendor, it wasn't too bad. You set up at 7am and start to pack up around 3pm. The last time I came here, I was helping out a friend and only brought a bag of goodies to try and sell. Surprisingly enough, a majority of my items were sold! This most recent go round, I involved my parents and boy, together, we had a whole heck of a lot to try and get rid of. We still had stuff to pack back up, but not nearly as much as we brought in. Everyone's trying to find a good deal nowadays, right? There is only a taco truck on the premise for food/drinks. I believe there was something else, but small and forgettable. We were checking it out to see if we might be able to come sell stuff ourselves since we don't have a garage or yard for our own sale. This is one of the worst flea markets in the bay area I remember when this Flea Market cost only $7.00 to sell here back in the early 80's The flea market was actually 2 parking lots. The other parking lot was on the Hesperian Blvd/Depot Road side and the one your shopping in now. The only difference is they made the flea market much much and i mean much smaller. This flea market didn't have any parking at all. You would have to either find parking on the side street next to E-on Cafe which was not there at the time. It use to be called "Elks Hall" "Turner Court" Or you could park way over on Depot road in the far parking lot. This Flea Market was 100% garage sale items there was no venders selling new merchandise. It was difficult finding a parking place and this is what made this flea market one of the best to go to. An ok place to sell useless junk at. Most of the people here don't speak English at all and there are lots of cheap stuff here. There is an aisle FULL of fruit. This Flea Market has been around for a long time now. The website states "18 years" and that sounds about right. You will find a lot of junk here. A lot of used stuff that looks like it was shipped straight from a yard sale or garage. There are some people who sell generic clothing, toys, and office products which can be pretty funny. One time I saw a "Spader-Man" action figure. If you're looking for used toys and action figures, you should definitely check this place out; but don't expect any vintage collectibles. There are some okay plants that are offered. The Flea Market takes place in front parking lots to the right. It's right across from Jack in the Box. Walking through the entire Flea Market should take you about thirty to forty minutes. They don't have much food here. I only remember a hot dog stand being there. They used to have an awesome sausage stand, but I can't find him anymore. Bring your haggling skills if you dare. read more

An ok place to go for a flea market. I am not too impressed on the vendors products but I do enjoy the people, the walk and atmosphere. Bathroom accessible. The fees to sell are kind of outrageous. The parking is ridiculous. I never seem to find anything that I have to have. Some of the sellers aren't negotiable friendly, and won't budge if you want something for a $1 less(do I blame them or the space fee they have to pay). On my way back from the recycling center, I decided to stop on by this flea market and it was a very pleasant experience. The weather was perfect and there was not a big crowd since everyone was busy at the mall doing xmas shopping! Chabot has really changed since I lived in Hayward and there is plenty of parking now. I didn't stop at every stand but my son did buy a few hot wheels and I bought an antique looking picture frame. I wasn't really looking for something in specific so I was doing more browsing than shopping. Very friendly atmosphere, wil definitely try to come back next year. read more

It seems like this once a month event is pretty popular. The parking lot was packed. There were the usual aisles upon aisles of useless crap. I wonder about the mindset of people who throw a big pile of their old dirty clothes on the ground and expect anyone but homeless people to be interested in taking the time to sift through them. Ditto with the cheap toiletries and makeup baking in the hot sun. I'd rather not take the risk of infecting my skin with flesh-eating bacteria. But I did take home some cute trinkets, such as a set of glass coasters decorated with pressed dried flowers, a little bamboo plant in a cute little vase (hopefully I won't kill this one) and a pair of knock-off designer jeans for 30 bucks. I LOVE the flea market. I used to live right across the street from Chabot and would walk here with my Grams. This is the perfect place to find cheap necessities, toys or just cute jewelery! They have their occasional "WTF?" booths but they do have a lot of people selling good stuff! Batteries, fly swatters, toys, earrings/bracelets, etc. It's a super fun place to just bargain shop. I've gotten into a few arguments while trying to lower the price and I always win! So give it a try, you'll walk away with really good finds. read more

LOL, is this flea market still going on? I remember coming here in the 90's with my parents. Once a month, on a Saturday, we'd go to the flea market, and I'd save up all my money (which usually amounted to something like $3) to buy myself some random toy or pencil set. My dad would buy Colombo baguettes or salami sticks, my mom would buy socks. I think as a kid I actually did most of my Christmas shopping here too.... Where else you gonna find a framed pick of Jordan for $8, a water globe for $5, and a coloring book for $1?? Good times, good times.... Anyway - been a while since I last hit this place (think 1998), and while I'm sure prices and vendors have changed since then, I'm gonna give it 4 stars for the sake of nostalgia. PS. Get there early for parking, but often not all vendors setup . Flea market=giant garage sale, if your looking for macys there down the road. Seems same people every month selling. Sellers need to realize also what there selling and price accordingly or be willing to haggle. I just went this month as a first time here. Very dissapointed. First, upon arrival, there is no organization or signs as to where to park. No traffic direction. Signs at parking areas warning of Staff or Student parking only with permits, etc. The areas that were seemingly ok to park in were all full at 9am. So I left and parked across Hesperian and walked in. Once in the market, it was just stall after stalls of cheap Chinese and/or Mexican imported crap. Very few original, homemade items or even garage sale items that are usually found in flea markets. It just reminded me of a small scale San Jose flea market. Sad. I will not return here, but take my money to Ohlone or De Anza. read more
