Out of Time Great little antique shop located in the Town of Niles that is more of an "Antique Mall" type of store that features items from multiple vendors, as opposed to just being the collection of one owner. The Good: *Friendly and delightful owners *Free street and lot parking available *Great location in the heart of DT Niles *Fun selection of stuff from lots of eras *They're open seven days a week, unlike some of the other stores here. The Meh: *Probably not a true "antique" store, as antiques are technically items that are 100+ years old, but still lots of fun stuff from back when I was a kid. The Ugly: *We've definitely seen worse pricing here in CA, as theirs was kind of decent, but still nowhere near as inexpensive as antiquing on the East Coast. However, it is worth noting that the owners don't price the stuff, the individuals who have a selling space in the store do. Conclusion: Easily the best antique store in Niles. read more

Hands down this is my favorite shop in Niles. There certainly is no shortage when it comes to vintage stores in the historic district but My Friends & I is a standout. Their selections range from actual antique to vintage inspired and have a shabby cottage, farm chic flair. Quality of their wares is superior with items in excellent condition. Ladies working the front counter are very sweet and will chat with you about the area or your shopping selections. I found some beautiful pieces-a bright blue clear glass bird, a bright and colorful new throw pillow and some nature inspired canvas art-all items under $30 each. This shop is so cute! I love all their items, they sell at reasonable prices, and there's a very diverse amount of options you can get. However for the service, I don't know if it was a staff member or just someone shopping, but they accused my friend of stealing when she put an item down, and just put her phone in her pocket. The woman accusing also watched my friend try the bracelet on, and thought she was going to steal. Mind you, she put it back. Overall, the shop was decent, but please stop accusing people of stealing whoever that was! My friend's still a minor, I'm a senior in highschool and she's a freshman. Went out with family today and ended up in Downtown Niles area, Fremont. My mom loves antique stores for reasons unbeknownst to me, but the fact that this one would carry classic NHL memorabilia is enough to be a 5-star in itself. Gordie Howe, come on...couldn't not get this! If you don't know Niles area it's a good little local spot to get out with friends and family for a quick day, worth a visit from time to time. read more

I love this place. It's got the best old collections in an excellent and sometime new condition. I picked Peter rabbit tales from here. It's a little expensive but because it's old and is excellent or pristine condition I think there is some value for money. The owners are so helpful and welcoming. This shop is my favorite in the downtown. If you are looking for boardgames from your childhood days this is it. They definitely have a lot more. They have diagonal street parking out front, but if all of that has been taken up (most likely by the Saturday Niles Farmer's Market), try either the Town Plaza Parking lot across the street (just off the Niles Town Plaza) or down H Street (basically around the nearest corner). If you spend over a certain amount (I think it was $5), you can also get a free trinket out of a basket they have near the register. At the time I was there, a lot of the trinkets were Fourth of July-themed earrings. It's mostly antiques, but I saw there were also (what looks to be) locally made or handcrafted products being sold in there as well. The historic Niles neighborhood is made up of a lot of antique stores. My Friends & I are one of several located ON the Niles Town Plaza and use the whole length of the historical building it is in. Basically, while it looks small in the front, it goes waaaayy back. You want to go through most of these places with just the mindset of browsing, so I'm grateful that they're being very meticulous about labeling the cost of everything. Aisles weren't too narrow, there were lots of nooks and crannies to explore, and it's well lit. The back of the building is a bit bit warmer and stuffier, but that's to be expected with buildings this old and they try to ventilate it with a box fan. Overall, lots of cool things for reasonable prices. I've been to a lot of Bay Area antique places where things are majorly marked up, so this was a new experience for me lol. Seriously, the ladies (owners?) at the counter were SO NICE. Though might be worth noting, their collection is a mix of vintage, antiques, handcrafted, and things that LOOK vintage. That's not on the store so much as that generally seems to be the trend around here. Some of those dishes were definitely on the newer end even if the patterns and styles look older. I found this gorgeous necklace that doubles as a magnifying glass that was definitely newer even if it was a vintage style. Later found out it goes for about $15 on Amazon. Not complaining because I got it for $12, but just a side note for those browsing for VINTAGE-vintage. read more

I've been coming here since my mom first took me when I was little. It's always been a great experience and treasure trove. I believe my parents got their first big art piece here when we lived in Hayward! Great spot to pickup gifts or a little something for yourself. The people working here have always been helpful and able to suggest an item off the top of their heads. Once I picked up an older A's pin from one area and the woman ringing me up was able to find a few more in a completely different section. Knew her inventory! I bought one of those tin laces yrs ago & at that time the owner was ok..but I hate hearing about some ppl who have bad experiences, that review about a layaway & she wasn't kind about them being late & the broken ornament that they broke & continued to wrap knowing they broke it & didn't let the customers know about it? To the store! You ppl are very unkind if thats how you act. Ppl come back to a store no matter how expensive if their customer service is kind. This place was super interesting for me.I liked seeing all the different antiques taking me back to my childhood and reminding me of my grandparents. But the store has so much stuff and it's just scattered everywhere. I'm glad that we were about the only ones there, because if it's crowded... it would be super hard to navigate the store. Hands down my most favorite Antique Shop in Niles! I came in today to see what they have for Christmas. (Yes I do know it is not even Thanksgiving yet!) But this store has the best prices from the vintage Christmas ornaments that I bought for a mere three to four dollars each to a heart breaker of a antique carved two tiered marquetry table for $ 376.00. Which I totally feel in love with but sadly with Christmas approaching could not justify. But hey a girl can dream right? The ladies who run this shop are just first rate. They do not hover over you but are available to answer questions or if you need to hold items at the front desk. I went on a Monday and while many of the antique stores on Niles Boulevard are closed this is one of the few that is open. And as always today this store did not disappoint with many treasures both big and small. I found so many great vintage items for the Holiday Season here. I think that I may have to go back to get more of the affordable vintage Christmas ornaments as well as decor. The way everything is displayed is neat clean and organized and each booth almost telling it's own story. There are no strange musty smells and no dust caking up the displays. The ladies keep a very tidy shop and do take pride in what they sell. I could easily be here for a hour or more. And most time a need at least one hour to browse the store. Monday as we shopped my friends and I as we have for many years we purchase some Christmas ornaments one in particular what is a Mickey Mouse we took it off of the tree with other merchandise we had bought go to the front to purchase we were still looking around as they were rapping our stuff and adding it up my girlfriend hurt something she said she look back at the cash register they were rapping the ornaments didn't think nothing of it as we got home and unwrapped the Mickey Mouse ornaments the foot was broken and the nose is broken no broken pieces in the tissue it was wrapped in no broken pieces in the bag it was in obviously with she had heard was one of the women dropped the ornament and then continue to wrap it it was pretty obvious it was broken pretty shady I would have never expected that to happen and no it didn't get broken on the way home cuz like I said no pieces in the tissue was wrapped in no broken pieces in the bag really nice women there why you didn't the one that drop it say oh no I broke the older man instead of just wrapping it and putting it in her bag like if we weren't going to notice if you shop there watch them as they wrap your stuff very unprofessional I'm pretty shady I'm sure it'll be their word against ours but we know we took that one of mine off the Christmas tree and it wasn't broken it's pretty obvious it was broken after we took it off at the register read more

I love antique shops and this is one of my faves in Niles. The women that work here are always welcoming and don't bug you while you browse. There are lots of cute finds in the store. I love the way they decorate and they change it according to the season or holiday. I've been here once or twice but never realized how nice it is compared to other shops around Niles. It's on the main strip, parking right in front that gets crowed, and a huge lot across the street. When I walked in, didn't realize it was almost closing time and I was still greeted nicely at the front and as I walked towards the back, someone else was very friendly not being pushy that I had to leave. My Friends & I is big compared to most antique shops. Very nicely decorated with lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Every space is arranged very tastefully without a lot of clutter. It's a long store and no section looks overdone or empty even as you get to the very back. They have lots of beautiful tea cups that I just might have to go back and pick one up. read more

I liked that this antique store in the middle of the cute and adorable Niles district had a mix of old and new in the store. There were lots of Christmas things to peruse too. The only thing that really bugged me was that when I bought a cute eco bamboo handmade fox rattle for my friend's baby, I wished the cashier a "happy holidays" and she very angrily responded "Merry Christmas!" Unfortunately, there is a real dark side to this seemingly friendly place. We found out about the mean side of the owner with our first and last layaway experience. My wife and I had a few items on layaway, but we were late a couple of weeks on a payment and the owner was exceedingly rude to us for missing the payment. She did not care in the least as to why we were late. She condescendingly lectured us like we were small school children. The mean and abusive treatment from the owner was way over the top. When we politely asked if we could pay off the layaway or get a refund for the $90 we had already paid toward the layaway, the owner became unhinged, started yelling at us and told us to leave her store. Jaw dropping inappropriate behavior. After years of shopping and buying from this shop, this was the treatment we faced from this troubled human being. My takeaway from this godawful experience is beware of this place. Don't be late in any way on a layaway and do not try to reason with this merchant--that is, unless you want an abusive tongue lashing you will never forget. Better yet, just avoid this place like the plague. If you inadvertently set off this lady, she will simply ruin your day. We will be filing a formal complaint against this merchant with the Merchant Association in Niles. Hopefully, it will have some impact on her outrageous behavior. read more

As mentioned in another review, they greet you, I love the elder lady with glasses, she always makes me feel so welcome, her smile when you enter. and when ever I speak with her regarding something im looking for or info I ask re:an item. she always apeaks with me never seems like im bothering her. " AND YES INDEED " !! if you are there once the clock strikes the closing hour, they don't make you feel uncomfortable, or hurried. they are still very nice. I do browse or buy 8 to 12 times per year. I do find item's for my home, as well as gifts. they have a wonderful selection of everything. ( 2 weeks prior to christmas I was looking for a tiny plastic ol nativity scene from the 60S? 1 of the women said oh, did you see the 1 in the back? no, she went back and found it, brought it up. wonderful there they are again, with there customer service. REGARDLESS weather it's a sale to benefit there store or not, they go above and beyond, instead of tryin to direct you as many shop's do, telling you where to go find it? . thank you for all the interesting items. This is a small co-op, but they manage to fit many dealers in there, and still feel big, Some items are pricey, but many items are priced fairly.
