Miguel first did some smaller jobs, like replacing all our toilets with water-saving models. He even fixed a serious leakage problem that we didn't know about because it was caused by the flooring people not putting in the correct toilet seal. The musty smell that we couldn't find is now gone. He also replaced a badly installed screen door, found the door frame was crooked and was able to fix that and poor work done by others and install a new combo glass & screen storm door, extended and put in a new threshhold. It seals perfectly ...for the first time in my 18 years in this house. We are so delighted that when he finds a problem, he brings it to our attention, offers one or more solutions and asks us what we want to do. He is very easy to talk with, takes time to explain the whys of what he is doing, is very careful of my premises, and does jobs right, not just acceptably. He has now finished a bathroom remodel, tearing out the vinyl shower/tub and replacing it with a Jacuzzi whirlpool tub. The bathroom is quite small and now looks larger, not to mention beautiful. He and his colleagues worked on the tub and tile installation that was complex and time-consuming. I was especially happy that he was able to adjust what I wanted to do to keep me within my budget by suggesting different tiling pattern choices. We went with his suggestions and it is so much better than what we were going to do. We would highly recommend Miguel for repair work and remodels, though we hope he doesn't get too busy. I replied that day that I would mull the numbers over and asked how many days he would need for the project and what his schedule was like for the next month...all of which implied that I was seriously considering taking his quote and having the work done. Below was posted 05/2014 After receiving a notice from our HOA that we needed our garage door painted I did some research to find a good all around handyman. I also wanted someone that I could call in the future for small jobs. I came across the listing for Brian and his business and researched reviews online and decided that based on the great feedback I would shoot him an email. I emailed on a weekday evening and received a prompt, professional response the very next morning. We set up an appt and agreed on a price. He came out at the exact time promised and inspected the door. I had recently done some maintenance on the door and there was garage door lubricant that had seeped through and dripped down the surface of the door between the section joints. Brian pointed out that the door would need to be primed or the lubricant would eventually bleed through. He offered to pick some primer up and just charged us for the cost of the material and no additional time. I had already purchased the paint we wanted. Brian finished the job in about an hour and even after spending a little note time getting the primer he only charged his original bid. The door looks great, the HOA is happy and that's one less thing for me to do in the weekend! On my 5th try James answered the phone. He was very upfront and professional. He had me email him photos and contact info. Within 15 minutes he emailed me a quote. He arrived less than 30 minutes after I emailed my confirmation back. Within 2 hours he had assessed what he needed to do and took off to get some sand bags. He tarped some areas and did some roof maintenance. He said if there were any more leaks to call him, even if it was at night. It's pouring and so far no leaks. He's honest and diligent.
