I recently had my key fob battery die, I replaced the battery and the lock unlock function worked but the car wouldn't start. I called the local dealer and they said I needed. to reprogram the key and the charge was $155. I called Lock Experts Locksmith in th Home Depot center and spoke with Eric who said the car retains the programming. He said I might have a problem with the "transponder ". A small piece of plastic in the fob but not part of the circuit board had come out when I replaced the battery. Eric said if I put it back in the fob the car should start. He was right, the car started right up. This is where I will go for any future key or locksmith work. Honest, very knowledgeable and he took the time with on the phone to solve my problem. Today I walked into Lock Experts Locksmith with a bit of a problem. I just bought a house with a master closet door that had a lock on it but no keys for it. These little devices must be lined with gold or manufactured with unicorn tears- they are not cheap, but Lock Xperts' prices beat the dealer by a solid 20%. Eric had one of the ones I needed in stock, and the other he had to order, but it was no inconvenience to me. Eric was absolutely brilliant in fixing the 3-point locking mechanism on our Andersen door. We had called another locksmith who came out, took one look at it, and said "I'm not your guy."
