The company I work for purchased a security system elsewhere and only needed a professional installation. The first time that Progressive was scheduled to come give us an installation estimate they never showed up - I had to call several times and the sales manager said that he got caught up with a problem with another client and didn't have time to call and cancel my appointment. The next time we re-scheduled an estimate, the sales manager showed up over 1 hour late, but didn't call to say he was running late - I had to call him to ask where he was. Progressive gave us a reasonable price quote so we finally scheduled a date for the install. On the day that they were supposed to install, we waited and waited.... Progressive NEVER SHOWED UP. Late in the afternoon, we received an email (not a phone call) saying that we need to fill out some authorization form and send a deposit of %50 in order for them to install. This was never mentioned previously. Over a month and a half later (and several phone calls and emails later), Progressive finally showed up to install our system, and then said that because they "rushed" our install job that full payment was due that day. We paid the 50% deposit and expected the balance would be due in 30 days (as is typical for any other company), but they said no, it is due in full immediately. It has been less than a week since the install and the finance dept has harassed me every single day about the balance due when I told them that our accountant only works 2 days a week and that we will pay the balance ASAP. I would not recommend this company unless you think getting the runaround is a fun and worthwhile way to spend your time and money.

Also, Keith takes care of any paperwork that needs to be filed with the city, so you don't have to deal with that hassle. A minor complaint is that the installation process didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. The first installation took 3 and a half hours, and the technician seemed to struggle with the system. The technician had to come back a second time in order to complete the programming of the system (if I recall correctly, there was an issue with programming one of our doors), which was not the most convenient thing for us. Fortunately, the second visit took a lot less time. But I do think that Alarm2000 technicians could use a little more customer service training especially in showing the owners how to better use the system rather than just handing them an instructional CD. Overall, my husband and I were pleased with the purchase and installation through Alarm2000 and we have not had any issues with the monitoring company to date.
