Challenge family fun center is a pretty decent mini golf course located close by to Hershey park. They have mini golf, and arcade, batting cages and duck pin bowling. I love mini golf, I play when ever I can and where ever I can. This course is better than average, but not the best I played on. The odd thing about this course is that it is 22 holes, not the standard 18. Of the two miniature gold courses near Hershey park, this is the harder of the two. The place is well kept for the most part and the holes are interesting, they make nice use of water and elevation changes. The course is also more open than the other one near by, so it did not feel as crowded. The landscaping is also nicely done on the course, a lot of flowers and other plants. Just an FYI you pay for the golf inside the main building, not at the shack located at the course. The arcade is token based, not ticket based. They have a nice selection of games, but the ticket cost are a bit high. After you complete your mini golf round they will give a you a few free tokens, so that is nice. I did not try the batting cages or the duck pin bowling. Overall I enjoyed the round of golf I played here, if you looking for mini golf in the Hershey are I would come here. It is the harder of the two in the area, so it might be better for slightly older kids.

Video games. Tickets. Bowling. What worse can you ask for? Fun afternoon with small kids. And the big kids "adults" had fun too.

Picture this: you step inside a life-sized holographic North Pole, wearing lightweight AR glasses, tossing virtual snowballs, collecting ornaments, helping Santa save Christmas, and discovering festive surprises along the way. It's part game, part holiday movie, and all-around magical. From their website: "Deck the Holograms is a family-friendly augmented reality adventure that transports you inside a life-sized holographic North Pole...an unforgettable shared experience for families, friends, and believers of all ages." Yup, it's exactly that -- and it totally lives up to the hype. We did the experience as a pair, and it was so much fun together. Plus, we got 3 hours of free arcade play included with our tickets for $34.99 per person, which honestly feels like a steal. We even spent a little time in the arcade before jumping into the AR adventure, which was a nice warm-up. The story itself was surprisingly thoughtful -- it made us reflect on being present in the moment during the holidays instead of getting lost in our phones. It's playful, immersive, and yes, totally enjoyable for 40+ year olds too. Plenty of parking, plenty of space to move around, and the whole experience is cozy and warm inside -- perfect for a chilly December night. We booked our tickets from the parking lot on the last Friday before Christmas and had no trouble snagging the 8pm time slot we wanted. Overall, it's a low-impact, warm, immersive, and joyful way to celebrate the season. If you're looking for something different, memorable, and just plain fun, do yourself a favor and check out Deck The Holograms -- you won't regret it!

Great alternative to Dave & Buster's for my game-loving 9 year old daughter. We got an all-day…read morepass - a steal at 25 bucks a person - and immersed ourselves in both retro and more updated games. My only beef was that we couldn't seem to get the newer consoles to work, as they were turned off and we weren't sure if it was okay to mess with the setup to get them working. No complaints otherwise. I loved the variety of pinball machines in particular. Free parking in York City garages if you go on Sundays or holidays. Definitely making this a regular stop.

Timeline Arcade is a retro arcade in downtown York. Parking depends on the time of day with options…read moreon both the street and local garages, but don't be surprised if you have to walk a few blocks. Timeline is like most current retro arcades, you pay X amount per hour for unlimited plays, and you pay when entering. The entry fee for an hour is very reasonable. The arcade is reasonably large and is spread across two rooms. Selection includes retro arcade machines, pinball machines, consoles, and other gaming items. Timeline does get newer Stern pinball machines like JAWS and Star Wars: Fall of the Empire, on top of a handful of older machines like Spy Hunter and White Water. The selection of general arcade machines is good, with machines like Spy Hunter, Coors Light Bowling, Rampage World Tour, and Revolution X catching my interest. Several TV's and couches are available for console gaming. Timeline has some problems however. They need to more clearly define the BYOB policy in its public facing information. From experience, BYOB here means "mancan/tallboy" sized drinks IE larger cans. The bigger issue is the machine maintenance problems which have gotten worse over time. I've run into several issues with machines not working, and during my last visit a bunch in the back room were out of order. Some of the machines at Timeline are clearly B or C grade machines, and simply do not play as better examples would. Is Timeline still worth a visit? Yes. It remains one of the better retro arcades in Pennsylvania, but there are better out there including in surrounding states like New Jersey.
