Its part…read moreof the Worlds Largest Swim Lesson adding Selma, NC, to a worldwide effort to promote water safety and the importance of everyone learning how to swim. The Lesson was well attended, the Parks and Recreation director and his staff were organized, attentive, and energetic in an effort to break the worlds record. Great job! The Town of Selma recently bought this pool in 2019. It is now under the management of the Parks and Recreation Department that uses a private contracted pool management company to staff and maintain it. Typically there is a cost to enter this public pool. Summer passes called memberships for individuals and families are available in a limited number. Daily passes are also available. The pool has two sets of steps in the 3 foot (most shallow end) and two ladders on the 10 foot end (deepest end). A safety line divides the shallow (3-4 feet) from the deep end (5-10 feet). Ample comfortable lounge chairs and regular chairs are available along with two picnic tables. Gravel parking Pool has handicap access as well.

I'd heard about the Northside Splash Pad and was excited to check it out, but the first two times we swung by during "open" hours, it actually wasn't open. I guess it was undergoing some repairs, but I never saw any info about that or info about when it finally opened. We've gone three times in the past few weeks and it's perfect for my little guy. Small, contained (if we close the gate), benches and tables to sit at, and enough water fixtures to be fun without being too much for a toddler. Some of them could use some upkeep, but it works well for us. Thrilled to have this other option for a splash pad during this hot summer!

Yeah, it's not exactly luxurious and if you are used to…read morehigh-falutin' pools like at the Tennis Club you might not be exactly impressed but it serves a vital purpose for the community and with reasonable memberships you can be okay that there isn't a snack bar and upscale amenities or a baby pool WITH a fountain. It's been home for the Cyclones , a local swim-team for kids preschool-12th grade, which keeps them conditioned, learning and honing their strokes and developing team building skills. This experience has been invaluable to many in the community. They have ample room for adult swimmers during adult swim. The kids all look like they are having a great time whenever I have been there.

This is the best Gym I have ever been a member of. In fact, it's the best YMCA that I have ever…read morebeen a member of. They have the best staff here. I mean everyone of the staff I met that work here, was always nice and friendly. I never had a problem coming here. They would also help you too if you needed it. I hope the next gym I join is just as nice as this one. Most of the time, as soon as you walk in, you give them your card, they check you in, and ask you if you need a locker and/or towel. Then, I usually go to the treadmill. Their treadmills are so advanced that you can watch TV on them while exercising. Next, I usually take a shower. Then, I hook up to their WiFi and check my email using my Laptop. It's a pretty cool place. I always liked coming here.
