It's a cute little play area, made up of two bounce houses, a few slides and your run of the mill kids play area. If you order your pizza ahead of time it's ready about 5 minutes after you arrive, which is nice. And it's a full pizza, not just a slice, good enough for a few kids and a parent. This place is rules stacked on top of rules, and they don't take any of them lightly. I completely understand having to keep your clientele safe, but this place is a little extra about it. First and foremost I'd like to say this isn't my first time using mega play in spring lake as a party venue for my children . But this time showed me that I will NEVER be back , whether it's to play or host a birthday party. First I'd like to say 2 of the gentlemen helping me I didn't have a problem with because they checked in . However I could tell it wasn't proper training done when it came to the new guy because to spend $300 on a birthday party to come in to the previous party still being there and "cleaning" but once it was time for us to come in it was crumbs left on floor , table , and cart . Trash sitting on the counter along with more crumbs. As far as food you're not "allowed" to bring outside drinks or food but to spend $13 on a Walmart bought pizza is ridiculous not to mention we didn't get any drinks for the kids , only 3 waters and 2 Pepsis . I placed my pizza order when I first got there and paid for the remaining balance , to still not receive my pizza until 10 minutes prior to the birthday party ending . I went to the counter to ask for a manager only to realize it's a young child as a manager who doesn't have the right attitude or seem fit for the position . I asked since they gave us raw pizza and gave the pizzas to us late could they give us extra time for the kids to play . She then told me it was nothing she could besides give a refund for the extra two pizzas we had purchased and that the whole facility is booked right after our session so there was no way possible we could get more time . So basically my daughter couldn't open her gifts because they decided to bring pizza out on their own time , we had to rush to sing her happy birthday because of their screw up . then as we're wrapping up she comes and stands in the door way and says "if y'all try to stay over the time you'll have to pay for each child in attendance" so then I immediately grabbed belongings and took them to the outside area . Once she seen that the party had started to leave she then tried to offer us 15 minutes . Clearly that was after the fact she saw the party leave ! I will NEVER come back ! EVER!! They have a toddler area for 3 and under where the child can do everything without the help of a parent. The staff do an exceptional job of keeping the children above 3 out of this area so the little kids can safely enjoy themselves. And if you're child wants to play in the areas designated for 4 and up, they have no problem with the parent going with them to help. We slid down the bigger slides with our baby as well as both inflatables. This place is the definition of parent/child interaction! I can't say again how friendly and attentive the staff are. Kids have fun but certain staff are unfriendly. The place could also use a good cleaning. I understand that this is the South and bugs are inevitable but finding roaches in the kids play area, then having the staff not care, and make the customers pick them up was a real turn off. Also, the separated areas for 3 and under is frustrating for older siblings who want to engage and play with their younger siblings. It was great at first even though it was super busy. The food is decent and the gals at the check in were really friendly. There's a lot for all ages to do. What really ticked me off and ruined my 5 star review for this place is the fact that my older son was on the toddler playground area helping his two year old brother out and playing with him and he was told to get off that area. The guy said "there's no green bands allowed in this area". There's no sign that says that anywhere. So basically my two children cannot play together much at this place because it's all separated by age. We'll find another place to go after this. I spent too much money to not have my children be able to play together. First time coming today, my 3.5 year old is having a blast! I love that the layout is more parent friendly than other local establishments. (I can see my son from the seating area, and don't need to follow him like a helicopter parent.). They have slides, and swings and bouncey houses and it's very well supervised by their "play patrol". There's a door guard posted to make sure no one steals your child, and they serve food and drinks (which I did not purchase). They are currently playing music from the jungle book, it's awesome, and all around great place to be! We will be back. Brought our one year old here today for about an hour and she had a wonderful time! The toddler area has slides, a swing (more appropriate for an older toddler), a ball pit (which we were told by another mom who frequents Megaplay on a regular basis is cleaned regularly by each of the balls being individually washed - impressive!), some large soft blocks, and a slow moving inflatable type merry go round ride. The staff were very nice and also were polite but firm with older children who came racing through the toddler area, asking them to please play in the big kid area. It seemed very clean and well maintained, and not a bad price either - we will be back! read more
