My snowblower was leaking fuel from the carburetor so I went to Chambers to get a new carb kit. The guy I talked to was overly helpful, even giving me tips as to how to replace everything. I feel like most mechanics would use this opportunity to tell you how little you know and how you should just let them fix it, while Chambers went out of their way to try to help me fix it myself (which I did without any problems). They also suggested low cost solutions to help prevent this issue in the future. I will be using them for all of my small engine needs and would highly recommend them. read more

I went there because they were a Bit Closer than the Cub Cadet dealer I normally deal with. Big mistake Went in to to order two Grease fitting for front tire rims for a Cub Cadet . Because I did not order the rim though them The refused to order the greasing fitting Claiming because I did not buy from them that I was causing them to go out of business. Very rude customer service I have worked in the Industry before and I would never treat a potential new customer they way they treated me. When they actually delivered my mower and I got the receipt I was even more upset with the deception of this mechanic. First off the reciept lists the delivery at only $35 not the $40 I was quoted over the phone. Secondly, the line items of work listed does not mention any warranty work. Finally all it stated is that they did spring tune up. Don't mechanics typically list the repairs that are made and parts needed for the vehicle when it is sent in for repairs? Basically they are the type of dishonest mechanics everyone is taught to avoid. read more

The storm that blew through on July 1, 2012 knocked out my power. I tried to start my portable generator but after numerous attempts and a trip to the hardware store for advice, it still didn't start. On July 2, I contacted Chambers Lawn & Power Product to see if they could look at my generator. Chambers fixes all small engines so they were happy to take on my job. I dropped off the generator after work at 6 pm (their regular closing time) and Mike said he would take a look at it that evening because I was out-of-power and the temperature was in the 90s. Based on the initial assessment, it appeared to be a "varnished" carburetor. Mike gave me an estimated price ($50-150) and timing (tomorrow or following day) for the expected repairs ranging from a simple cleaning to a full carburetor rebulid. I was positively shocked - in a very good way - when Mike called back 2 1/2 hours later to say the generator was fixed and ready. I was very impressed that Mike & Dave stayed late to fix my generator. I really appreciated their dedication to help me out. The repair price was near the low end of the range so I felt they did good honest work at a fair price. It would have been easy in that situation to charge me a premium, but they did not. Suffice it to say that I have found a place for all my small engine maintenance & repairs. read more

When I first called Chambers Lawn and Power they told me they could look at it in 2-3 days. Being a local outfit I decided to look no further and bring my small snowblower in for repair. I brought my snowblower in on Wednesday morning hoping by Monday they will at least have a quote for me. I decided to wait 1 week to call them and when I did I was told they moved the Saturday (3 days) after I dropped off my blower. After expressing my displeasure about not being notified Chambers was moving when I dropped off my blower I gave the man my name and number and was told someone would call me that day. That never happened! I continued to call the number listed on the website with no answer. EVER! It would just ring and than ultimately hand up. This goes on for another week. Now I'm in week 2 and I have no idea where my blower "moved" to and cannot get a hold of anyone either by phone or email (through their website) . Thinking my blower has been stolen I continue everyday for another couple days to search the website for updates. Finally a Roselle address pops up on the website . I take time out of my work day to drive (because the phone number still did not work) down to see what happened. When I arrive at the new location they seem very put out that I am there. I ask where my blower was and asked if they looked at it. After a long drawn out story about how he had to suddenly move and Comcast was was blame for the phone , I was told they have not yet looked at my blower. UGH! Again after expressing much displeasure I was promised they would look at it in 3 more days when his new location was operational. So here I am 3 weeks into this saga and Chambers finally figures out how to use the telephone. On the call they go on to tell me just about everything you can imagine is wrong with it. The auger needs replacement, oil in the gas, carburetor needs replacement etc.. Its a $400 fix. The blower brand new is not worth $400. Now I have to drive back to Chambers pick it up and pay the man $45 for nothing. You would think after all my trouble he would have waived the $45 inspection fee it took him 3 weeks to complete. I decided to take it to Carol Stream Lawn and Power . They quoted me in 2 days a price of $65 for an inspection, spark plug change and oil change. The blower works on the first pull every time. Chambers is a rip off artist and should be shut down. Do yourself a favor and move on from this outfit. read more

I had my snow blower looked at because it would not run correctly. I was sure it was a carburetor issue and they were able to confirm that was the case. I elected to have the carburetor replaced instead of being rebuilt. They explained what caused the issue and how to ovoid it in the future. Highly recommended. read more

Went to chambers today to get parts for my cub cadet and mike and dave were very helpful told me all the pros and cons on my parts choices i even inquired about a new riding lawn mower and they were not trying to sell me the most expensive model in the place but the best one for what i need even taught me somethings i didn't know on how to better store my mower in the off season i would drive a 100 miles to get parts from these guys because u don't get service like this in the big chains give them a shot u won't be disappointed mike and dave thank you i am a lifetime customer from now on read more

Worst company ever! Do not give them your items. They told me pick up & delivery were free. They told me 1 week for a quote then only called me 3weeks after when my husband called several times. they tried to charge me for unnecessary things and pick up and delivery. When I refused to get my oil changed and filters changed they refused to fix my product and said they were going to charge me to look at my product. I told them they said pick up & delivery was free and they never said there was a charge for looking at it the owner said I have to charge you something I have a lot of lawn mowers in my back yard. Then he refused to give me a date that they would give me my product and just kept saying I want my $65. Save your money and go to a place that will try to take your money and not fix your items. I brought a pressure washer in for repair because it was leaking oil. They called, after two weeks, and said it would cost $100 to fix a oil seal on the engine. Seemed plausible so I approved the repair. Another two weeks went by (they said it would be only one week) and was called and informed I could pick up the unit--ready to go. That was great as winter was approaching and I had a few tasks to complete with the pressure washer. I brought the unit home and it immediately started leaking oil again. I returned the unit and another two weeks went by and was called and informed the pump had failed another $100 to replace. Had I known it was going to cost me $200 to fix, I never would have authorized the repair as I only spent $225 about three years ago for the machine and now winter has arrived and the unit cannot be used til Spring. Chambers is unwilling to admit it was their mistake so I guess I am out $100 and still have a machine that doesn't work. I tried to compromise on the issue, and got nowhere and they can't meet their promised delivery dates. In short, avoid this place like the plague. Consider a reputable place like Carol Stream Lawn and Power. They will work with you on issues like this. Chambers won't thus leaving customers high and dry. I called the store and talked to the owner Dave. He said he could fix our generator for our home for 80 dollars. He said if he could not fix the generator that he would only charge me 40 dollars. When he called me he told me that it was fixed. I came to the store and payed 80 dollars. Finally when I went outside to turn it on it wasn't working. He told me that my generator was crap and he can't find the part to fix it. When I asked for only 40 dollars back like he promised, he said he couldn't do anything about it since he had to pay the workers who tried to fix it. I warn you not to give away your money until you see that your product is fixed first otherwise they will take your money and you won't get 40 dollars back. read more

Good customer service and free DIY advice.

I relocated from California and didn't have a mower and after looking at reviews and at home improvement centers I decided the best mower for me was a Cub Cadet SC 300 so I looked on the Cub Cadet factory website and found these guys. I made the 45 minute drive each way and I'll tell you it was worth it. The product knowledge and experience is what I always look for and was excellent and as other reviews state they don't try and push the more expensive products on you I have used my mower for the entire Spring and Summer season and uses less than 2 gallons of gas for a tad over 1/4 acre lot. I can't recall it stalling or really bugging down too much when I got lazy and put the yard work off til the following week. I used it to mulch without the bag and it leaves very very little behind. Average time to mow my lawn is about 35 minutes with the front wheel drive and I never felt fatigued. I am very satisfied with my decision to go to Chambers so much that I am in need of a snow blower and I am about to head out there to talk to them about a Cub Cadet 2 stage read more
